This is really cool Colin! I think what you did with this ild tune is amazing! I love this sort of thing, bringing old music to new generations and hearing that good music never goes away!✌🏻🎶😎
The New Penguin Book of English Folk Songs notes that that the earliest references to the song much before 1800. The '1400's' origin is because a late 15th century carol has the lines: 'There blows a cold wynd todaye, todaye The wynd blows cold todaye' Other than that there is no other similarity to The Unquiet Grave.
Beautiful melody and an exciting acoustic and vocal interpretation, I really liked this traditional song, congratulations and thanks for sharing your music.By the way, if you haven't done it lately, I would like you to visit my humble channel- Greetings from Madrid and see you soon Colin, like 1
Beautiful song and lovely version, well done. The version I’m most familiar is with Prog Folk, Medieval band, “Gryphon”
Thanks so much, Peter! Yes, the Gryphon version had a big impact on me when I first heard it back in the 70s!

This is one of my favorite folk tunes. Do you know the Vaughan Williams variants?
Thanks, Richard - I know of them, but haven't listened to them in years.
