They tell you to buy 3 because they get to keep one pack and the rest goes into the teachers supply closet, for kids who may not have any. so pretty much just buying the teachers extra supplies. I never bought more then what "I" needed.

my favorite place to shop for school supplies is Kmart
Not that it matters because you already bought their stuff and it all matters on what you want to buy them I guess, but I fill bags of school supplies at my moms work for parents that can't afford to buy it for their kids, and we never give them three boxes of crayons even though it says they need three, no ones every said they need more crayons, so they definitely don't need to buy three.😂

Reading some of these comments break my heart. Teachers do not get paid enough for what they do and they usually end up spending money out of their own pockets to supply things for their classroom. Looking back at myself and my peers during 2nd grade and whatnot, we wasted and destroyed a lot of supplies b/c we're kids. Maybe it's b/c went to poor schools where kids will show up with a pencil and notebook & teachers have to go out a buy things "for the whole class to share," so these kids won't feel left out. Supplies cost $1 at Dollar Tree but if you have to buy calculators 3 times thru the year, it adds up. /:

A lot of teachers are paid such small wages to deal with annoying kids. They don't have enough money to pay for supplies for all the kids. If you only had to do it one year sure but every single year people expect them to provide supplies out of their own pockets.
Not that Lizzy and Katie are annoying but just in general having to deal with tons of kids must be hard. I couldn't do it.
