33:16 DX1 plus CS-80 plus manual Prophet-10.❤❤❤ Yeah all huge! DX1 is 76 keys and BX1 has 61, so will be quite a bit smaller but the back end looks deep. Top panel looks about similar to original Prophet-5.
The DX1 was one of the most gorgeous looking synths ever. This BX1 is super beautiful in appearance. Might not break your bank or back though. The guy at NAMM said it might take until 2026 to drop.
Yes I wondered whether they will have the SSM type filter on it too. Otherwise it will just be a 16 voice Rev3 P6 clone and probably sound a lot like two Pro-800s.
@@davebellamy4867 if I wanted a 3320/3340 synth (which I do not) UB-Xa can also already be had new for $850 delivered. Depending on the rest of your setup $250 less for a pair of 800s might be the way to go for that.
A DX with a gigantic physical UI. Wow! Been learning FM sound design on a Yamaha RefaceDX, but getting stuck at levels. Was thinking about the OPsix Korg to get another look at FM. My studio is 100% hardware, I don't use computers for music.
I played it at NAMM yesterday - sounds great. The whole board looks really cool. Same keybed at UB-XA, and same as Pro 16 and JT-16 - not terrible, not great (I'm a keybed snob). Pro-16 and JT-16 non-op. But those new boards are way cool and people are gonna eat them up. I also talked with Dom literally RIGHT AFTER I demo'd them lol, and got pictures to prove it!
I have a Yamaha TX-802 and an original Kurzweil K-2000r, but that BX1 looks like a winner. I have no room for an extra keyboard synth, but I may have to reconsider.
Although I enjoy FM for dissonant and weird sounds mostly - and knowing the BX1 is still not fully ready - I have to say the BX1 sounds MASSIVE with those CS80 filters. Far more interesting than just the FM side.
@synthsamuraiproductions the SD card he explained. The original has 2 bulky cardridges slots in that position for more sounds. They put the SD card as a sort of homage to that. The BX1 has USB and internal memory, so there really is no need for the SD card. I thought it fun tho.
Should've kept your red MPC One a little while longer. Akai just officially released the new MPC 3.0 firmware. With rhat said, Congrats on the Drumbrute Impact. I have one as well as a Roland TR-8S. The bassdrum on the Drumbrute Impact is KILLER!!!! Yeah, that Behringer BX-1 looks very exciting!
@@Aetila It is smaller by quite a bit I think. It's about similar to the Pro16. Longer but not as deep from front to back perhaps. Probably half the weight of the original JP8. Pro16 looks very similar size to Prophet-5 and so does the BX1.
My bet is that the BCS3 will debut tomorrow! You're gonna live the Drumbrute Impact. It sounds great, its easy to use. Nice touch on the white version!
If Behringer would start to also clone digital synths they could take a look at Kawai K5000 W, a rare additive workstation synth... Amazing work on the BX1!
@@synthsamuraiproductions Behringer: We WILL chase the ghosts of the vintage synthts! Roland and Yammy: "No, you just can't do that...wait, is that a new analogue Jupiter 8? How dare you clone it ???" :-)
The fact that DX1 was cloned amazed me, but I'd at least like the Pitch EG to hopefully not be applied to all operators (like the original):but separately to each. Since behringer has experience with modulation matrices, one of those were even be better. Given amazing present instruments such as the KORG Opsix, I admittedly don't really see the point of a DX1 clone. I myself have its brother, the DX5, and don't even rate it higher than the DX7IIFD. DX1 & 5 are, above all great looking. An analog filter, I personally never missed with FM synths, is hopefully not the only highlight beside Poly-AT & the noble optics.
@@synthsamuraiproductions ...hopefully, but I don't know where behringer sets the limit within a clone or heavily inspired synth. Personallly so far I can not imagine it's voice architecture as flexible as an OPsix f. e.
I'm not sure why they want to copy the DX1 interface with all those buttons! pain in the ass to program. In this case they should have copied the OPSIX interface. Would love an OPSIX with analog filters.

Pro 16 looks to possibly only have 3320 filters. Have been waiting (and waiting) for it, but if that is so will save for a real P10 instead.
