I am a Liverpool fan of 42 years. I must say that Keith was a brilliant player and one of my favorites to watch play. Leicester had such a talented team in those days. RIP Keith.
I used to look forward to Leicester playing on motd or the big match as a lad because of the mighty Kieth Weller. Fantastic player. Kieth you have left us great memories, and possibly the greatest voley ever. RIP. From a Bluebird.
I JUST got done speaking to his wife (Terry) for almost 45 minutes. We sat and reminisced about the good 'ol days. What a player he was and what a delight she is. RIP Mr. Weller
True Millwall Legend. Signed by Milwall for £18,000 from Spurs as part of a double package with Derek Possee, Keith ( Sammy) Weller was fabulous for The Lions..
Keith was my mums cousin . Brian clough was gonna spend £400,000 on him when he was derby manager in 1974 . But he went to manage Leeds for 41 days and transfer didn't happen . He would have been British transfer record had it happened
@@thomasandersen6719 well I've seen the interview on t.v where he confirms. So my so called fantasy story is totally true so your mother don't really know . Does she
Keith Weller started his career at Spurs playing 20 games 1964-67 .. Bill Nicholson should have found a permanent place for him in the 1st team.. Brought up just down the road in Islington (Arsenal territory).
Another overlooked quantity English player that the national team managers of the 1970s didn't use because they preferred run-around kickers and toe-punta's than flair talented skilful players with great close control on fkin awful muddy pitches..

Lovely goal at Luton , also well remembered for the fa cup goal against Norwich .
What a player and sportsman. One of the players I used to admire when I was a schoolkid in the 70s. Just brilliant.

From a lifelong wolves fan....Weller!....pure class!
That`s a staggering goal.
Strange thing is, as a Shoot reader, all I remember is he wore (his mum's) tights during a cold winter. A trend setter, of sorts
Amazing how he maneuvered thru so many defenders. Wonder if we were distantly related, Kelly Jo!
Patricia Tursi I was distantly related to him
He was my grans cousin
RIP leicester legend

WELLER LEGEND.....................
An absolute legend at Millwall who along with Derek Possee were an electric duo. Fantastic player
When I was a kid every time we went to smash a volley in we'd shout "...WELLER!...OH YES!" (if it was a good en)
I was so rubbish they put me in goal so after a good save i'd shout shilton or banks'y Happy street footie days
That goal v Leatherhead - awesome!
Luton, I think.
sad i forgot he had died RIP

Sammels was very underrated. Great passer.
