While I wouldn't go that far, I thought ESPN was holding this guy back. I always felt like they tried to put Stephen A Smith above him, but Chris Broussard is better then Stephen A Smith and has a better personality.

I think all of the "personalities' like him coming on their shows, but i think they all know he would be better than they are, so they haven't helped push him to have his own show, his podcast will be proof of concept for his own show, so if you think he should have his own show like me subscribe, like, and tell people about it.

I remember a few years ago, he had comments about homosexuality blown out of context and proportion. Around the same time he tweeted that sources had told him something about Mark Cuban and Deandre Jordan. Cuban then claimed this was completely false. This was all meant to make him look like a homophobic liar, but looking back on things I can't see any other examples which back this idea up at all, and to me he is just the realest of the sports journalists. He doesn't get over emotional and say ridiculous hot takes all the time like: Stephen A, Skip, Cowherd etc. He never disrespects any players either. He has sensible takes on things and tries to understand where people are coming from. Just comes off as a humble and great guy and I respect him a lot more than all the other most popular sports journalists who cover the NBA.

Chris broussard is the 🐐 fr . Imagine if Shaq had a decent 3 point shot and played like dirk sometimes back in the day 😱 but tbh Shaq it's curry who made the entire nba change and everyone shoot more 3s . He's the reason iso ball is dead (along with Nash and the mid/late 2000s sun's) . Bc there is no one like you except maybe Giannis (big men who strictly play the paint and are almost unstoppable) but 3point shooting is up like 25% bc of curry

Shaq can't recognize that guys don't post up much anymore because of rule changes. You can't have your back to the basket for more than 5 seconds and defensively you can't be in the paint for more than 3 seconds. So as a big you've got to keep moving. You can't just camp out in the paint anymore. Shaq's style of play is obsolete. That's why there are no more dominant centers.

How would young Shaq fair against Lew Alcindor 2-3 years into each of their careers unfortunately I was too young to have seen the latter play until much later (79 -80 ) or I should say how would they fair against each other .

I wonder why Draymond couldn't guard him?? Ha! Remember Rodman holding him to 0 points in second half while with the Lakers. Or when Rodman shut him down in 1996 Playoffs?

I can relate to Shaq's comments about Kevin Durant joining the Warriors. All other things being equal, OKC actually had the stronger team the year they lost to Golden State after being up 3-1 on them. Do you guys agree with Shaq's idea that an accomplishment has more value if you had to work harder to get it? Or is it just sound strategy to try to reach the goal via the easiest path?
Consider: year after year, Kevin was watching his best teammates get traded away. It's pretty obvious to everyone now that while Russell can put up huge numbers, his style of play doesn't necessarily make his teammates better (or as much better as the style of someone like Lebron, Curry, Chris Paul, etc.) I think some people are about the destination and some people consider what their life is like in the moment. From what I can see, almost everyone when offered a better job opportunity in life they take it. And yet those same people turn around and crucify KD for doing the same thing.
Going back to Shaq, Charles Barkley, and many others, at some point, I just think it's just ego from older players putting down younger players because they don't want them taking anything away from their legacy.

Shaq sounds like he's still got some pork chops stuck in his throat. There would be few centers in today's game that could guard Shaq in his prime. Gobert would get destroyed like he was Mutombo. DeAndre Jordan and Joel Embiid would probably be the best defenders on Shaq.
