@@Zigeuninja To me this song is more powerful. I feel Subaru running through death countless amounts of times to fulfill his promise to save Emilia and challenge fate so that he can save everyone. I get this heart-chilling vibe seeing an average person/underdog like Subaru fighting this hard in the opening to overcome all his obstacles with a greater sense of courage and bravery than he did in season 1 where everything was breaking his spirit episode by episode.
Man the introduction of this op in ep 2 was so spot on I got chills, especially at the part when the title screen showed then Echidna threw a "firework" of glowing butterflies! Mad goosebumps!
The direction and editing of the OP is top-tier. Such a shame we rarely see it in the series itself... well, for a longer runtime sacrifices must be made I guess

For me this is the best op by far, the music is top tier and the animation is priceless. At the start we get a relaxing tone that leads to the start of the song this all while a strange figure matches that music. Then Subaru starts walking down the path along with all his previous deaths while the music starts to build Up. Just before the song breaks It down, we see Subaru helpless but an unknown Witch 😏 gives the push he needs to maintain his resolve and keep walking down the path of suffering to save everyone. And to top It off we get smug Echidna at the end :>
