I hope that an English fan dub gets made of this documentary. It’d need someone who knows Japanese and knows how to localize and translate the script.
challenge accepted
If you're into Stop-motion animation, Phil Tippet, the chap who did the Tauntauns from The Empire Strikes Back (and MANY others) released his 30 year project: Mad God in 2022. One of the finest examples of stop-motion you're ever likely to find. It also hides a shedload of references to other classics (if you look really carefully).
As far as I remember, After Man was a success in Japan, and even leading to the publishing of a second book which never got published outside of Japan which is the real follow up to After Man. Meanwhile Man After Man was what the West got.
Makes sense. I'm assuming the true follow up to After Man is the Greenworld book I mention towards the end.
@@BewareCast yes. It is. And Man After Man was forced upon everyone, even Dixon himself. I think it's his unloved work. I think that's where the bleak tone came from.
The dinosaur bits were actually taken from a documentary film called Dinosaur! from 1985.
Cool! I guess I'm looking for that one next then lol
@@BewareCast- That movie scared me as a kid
Keep up that good work.
Long time no see Qu! Hope you're doing well mate!!
Yes all good thanks Jay, hope you are too!
@@BewareCast been great man! Lots of good thing happening my way. Really glad to see a new video!
Stop motion is one of my favourite techniques!
You sir are a man of exquisite taste, stop motion is fantastic stuff!🤩 Did you ever see the 1963 "The Outer Limits" episode "The Zanti Misfits"? That was one of the first things that included stop motion I ever saw and started my appreciation for stop motion animation.😄
I haven't seen it, but now I must!
@@BewareCast It scared me so much as a little kid but even then I could appreciate the work that went into making it.😅 Also since you like the stop motion have you followed Will Vinton's work with claymation?
Geez I remember signing out “The Future is wild” back in middle school 😂 very nostalgic book right there ❤
I so wish I could speak Japanese right now.
Is there anyone else who what’s to see a remake of this documentary
Anyone wish for there to be a remake of this documentary
Not made in the 1990's... You should really take a look at the bottom of the title screen, clearly says 1981...
That's when the book came out🤦♂️The documentary came out in 1990.
@@BewareCast
After taking another look I see you are correct.
My bad...
It’s really sad that this well made series isn’t available in America because i don’t like japan because they made anime which we all know why anime so damn popular
