Were the patients in the Ataxia part really ataxic? I am not sure if I would score that as ataxia, especially not the example that was supposed to be a score of 1. Also the old lady had a mild ataxia during the finger-nose test but no significant ataxia in the legs. Any thoughts?
What do you score if the patient moves their head to follow your finger? I have instructed to patient's to move their eyes only. Do you reinstruct them or take off points? Very good video that I will watch more times as I am still trying to get down some parts of the examination. The eye tests are more difficult for me.
I wonder why the examiner is not covering the eyes corresponding to the field that is not tested. This is not the way confrontation testing is done. Any explanation?
Next time you make a video, please define some of the terms you use like "extinguish" in #3 (visual). I had to look up some of the assessment terms you are using, which makes this more difficult to understand and perform in a consistent manner. Thank you.
I had 6 strokes a little over a month ago, and am really lucky that I am around 75% back to my normal self. It has not been easy to get this far. I'm so grateful that I wasn't more affected.
"do not coach"... this guy is coaching a whole lot, showing the patient how to close his/her hand, even touching the arm. The spanish translator isn't commanding, she's telling her "like this!". Not good...
Thanks to these volunteer patients to help us to help them and others
Thank you! I followed along with my NIH stroke scale assessment sheet and it really helped! THUMBS UP!!!
Excellent description. How scoring is done if patient has sensory aphasia

Thank you so much for the needed reveiw!
I agree, good training is good for everyone.
Can these patients except the 53 years old one give “can do legal activities” for example granting authorization to sell their assets?

That woman could not move at all. Awful. I hope I'll never have a stroke.
