NL explaining why having an 8/50 crab is actually better than feeding your crab when by the time your crab is getting a 50 buff you want to consider finding a way for it to have better attack has this energy to it that's hard to describe.
Yeah I was like… but it’s already at 50 health WHY DO YOU NEED TO INVEST IN THE FRONT UNIT THAT ALREADY HAS 50 HEALTH?!
The dodo was taking it to 43 damage and then later when he buffed the dodo it was a 50/50 crab.

He'll also willingly skip steak to keep meat which has me fuming every time. Its not my place to critique his decisions, but steak is LITERALLY an improved meat bone by 4 times, and skipping it impedes your own abilities.

Going for the achievements is fun. You'd be surpised at how many 10 wins you can crank out with oddball squads
I was so happy when I cranked out a Llama-centric 10 win, running a consistent 4-squad Marty is honestly really fun, it's just hard to get working

The game where he skipped a dragon with THREE tier ones in the exact same shop was so heart breaking. He would have scaled so much harder than he did if he got even SEMI lucky with tier one rolls like otter and beaver

Mid to late game when every enemy is at least 25 attack, an 8/50 crab is worse than a 17/1 unit.
This is further compounded by the fact that a crab with meat can have no other equipment, while the aforementioned 17/1 unit can also have meat/steak/1-up/chili.
The beauty in a crab is that you can accelerate a bit quicker while spending less money.
That being said, In most cases a stat buffing unit will usually serve you better in the long term than a crab will.

This is true, NL is right that HP is extremely important, but he definitely underrates attack as a result. An 8 50 will never win against a 30/30, and as long as it's attack stays below 30 it will always trade evenly. for it to win against a 30/30 the easiest way would be to feed it a couple of stat buffs and then give it steak after the meat has become less useful. In this situation feeding the crab has more use than feeding the unit in front of the crab just to give the crab health
But what if he used a chili???
Crab build doesn't work well in the late late game. But if you rack up enough wins early enough then crab meta is more than enough

Crab having no attack really cost a lot of wins in lategame. I do think he should've kept cat in his second? run and looked for pears or milks. A pear is almost as good as a meat anyways.

12:00 honestly I totally disagree with the idea that doing achievements is not worthwhile and not fun. It might not win as often, but you might be forced to recognize that some units leveled up are better than you might think that they originally are. Maybe instead of thinking of them as achievement hunting, think of them as challenge runs. It might even spice up the SAP content a little and maybe it's something more suited for UA-cam exclusives.

OR you could just put the kangaroo behind the ?/50 unit ahead of the crab, get the same benefit, without a crab filling a slot. Fit in something with an ability that'll give you something besides just a wall of meat. Crab's got its place but dude's downright evangelical about it.
I'm a little concerned over NL's influence over my (and others', from what I've read) internal monologue. I've been binging these and playing the game and I can't stop thinking things like "holy brsch" "him me him him you him me" "4 squad marty" etc. Pretty sure NL is some kind of fae.

29:00 you dont level crab or tiger unless you are in for at least level 2 penguin play.
Therefore:
1. you get the benefit of tiger without it being weak at all.
2. you get to enjoy the higher damage of crab, although it may be better off with other level 2 unit anyway but its better early game, since its copies the tank in early and the damage can be scaled to late game without using a dodo but using penguin.

Played my first SAP match today and I got 10 win streak no losses, all from watching the egg and his mistakes
Edit: most importantly I got the name squeaky ice cubes
I don't know what it's like now on Twitch but I think the believer payout needs to be higher, like 8 wins. Believers win too often so it's less pog when they do.

Wouldn't the 1up on scorpion be not that bad as 1st attack purges melon armor and the second attack gets death touch?
Any effect put on scorpion overrides the deathtouch effect. Ergo he'd have a 1/1 that dies and respawns as a 1/1.
The SAP NL arc is the best arc
Dodo rooster is pretty good, but lv3 Roosters are hard to get
The real combo is Tiger Rooster though
There are still a good number of sleeper strats that haven't kicked up yet that are really good; I'd really like to see NL explore these. Gorilla is an incredible offensive unit if you can get a chunky one, Tiger Rhino is being slept on, Tiger Mammoth Mushroom can steroid your team to near max stats, and chipmunk scaling isn't explored nearly enough; But honestly that one is hard to see people use cause 9/10 times you sell your chipmunk right after buying it (it's for canned food scaling).
I just wish I could get Tiger Rhino to pop! Maybe if after round 11 when you've unlocked all the tiers of units you could choose which tier to roll for or something, so tier 4's or 5's you're lacking on would be a bit easier to find.
@@swudurshchurf2386 Yeaaah I feel that. Really you don't choose the build, the build chooses you. Once you get a juicy lv2 Rhino though all you need is the tiger and scaling. Being able to pick sounds fun but scary.

It's a little of both, he's been getter progressively better with each video. Of course he still has some misunderstandings about game fundamentals, but he was wayyyyyy worse in his first few vids.

Chilli crab is almost strictly better than meat crab. The total damage increase is the same (unless you're attacking the last unit), but chill crab hits 2 enemies which is good for removing melon armor.
ok NL loves the fish but does chat not tell him to fill out his board then combine the fish always missing stats
If you have a monkey buffing the unit in front of the crab then surely if you use fruit on the crab that's good right? Both are being buffed so the crab still gets alot of HP but also its attack increases.

Sadly, the scorpions 1 hit ability is considered equipment, so you can't replace it with a one up or it won't have the 1 hit ability

Thoughts on Monkey, giraffe, dodo, rooster, turtle? Have had a good bit of 7+ runs with this and a solid amount of clean sweeps.
Giraffe is terrible and should not be part of a final squad
@@henwin6817 he is definitely the flex unit on the squad (first to get the boot) but for the scaling that he adds to dodo it is pretty nice

48:14 how did the scorpion kill through the melon armor?
My guess is it adds the enemies HP to their attack for their buff so since the scorpion had more than 20 attack it was able to go through melon armor.
The scorpions effect is "kill any unit damaged by this unit" Melon armor is "block 20 damage". Since the scorpion has 22 attack, it had 20 of it blocked, and the remaining 2 damaged the hippo. Since it dealt damage, it kills the unit.
What bonuses to damage and health stay after fight end? It seems that my ants gives bonuses after round but hippo buff is for that round only. Im a bit confused.
Most buffs given to your squad of animals during shop time are permanent (except horse and ladybug I think). All buffs given during fight time are for that fight only.

What is going on. I have watched only a few of these videos, and decided to play. Legit 10 hours maybe and no 10 win...

The meta is constantly bulding and improving. It's like starting playing counter strike when everyone else has 2k hrs and expecting to carry the team.
Imagine thinking you can get a 10 win like that. Just git gud.

The game is sweaty now. I started a few days after nl and it was easier back then. Only peice of advice I have is to abandon the game if you have a terrible team and are like 0-2-3, you're wasting your time at that point because the meta is too good.
Can anyone tell me why he doesn’t put the ant and which ever animal he wants to buff at the end so he can guarantee the buff?
Ants give buffs randomly
90% of the time its best to have your strongest unit at the front. The sooner the ant buffs, the sooner your team has its strongest unit at the front.
+2 +1 on a 10/10 also isn't as impactful as turning a 2/3 into a 4/4.
So at the end of it, there usually isn't any unit you WANT to buff. Its impossible to predict what unit will win its fight after receiving +2/+1 when it wouldn't have previously. A better way to think about it is there are certain units you dont want to buff. The last slot on your team wants to clean-up or simply survive. Dealing more damage doesn't usually help in either of those goals.
Black cat could have upgraded the dog since it doubles the chocolate buff (and it's +2/+2)

i believe no peanut on respawn since its an effect that comes with the animal when u buy it from the shop
1 up replaces death touch, so your scorpion would do poke damage.
Animals can only hold one item. Scorpion comes with a built-in Peanut item, which is what gives it the poison effect. Placing any item on a Scorpion removes the Peanut and now you have a shit-ass 1/1. That's why it's terrible.

Placing one-up (or any food) on scorpion replaces it’s ability to one-shot enemies. The end result of that play is a vanilla 1/1 that comes back to life once.
But the 1/1 vanilla clears melon armour then it revives with poison because its innate to the scorpion and kills the unit

Dear NL, I love your streams but at some point you have to recognize when to ditch the kangaroo. At some point the units in front of the roo dies to one or two hits making it pointless. In conclusion it's great early to mid game but then you have to dump it for scaling.
It can scale into lategame, but it needs support. If you aren't rolling roos in the shop or you don't have enough food for it, it's a pretty mediocre unit, especially when your stuff starts getting one shotted.
@@CalvinAytch I agree up to a point but i think everything scales late game if you have the right pieces. But that first game if he would have yeeted the roo for the dragon his build would have been much better. After turn 10 or 11 id say kangaroo is about as useful as a fish.
