Two things. One, you skipped the credit sequence, but apart from some relaxing music and some concept art there's not much in there. Two, that splash thing during the fights, that came from the fire giants projectile hitting the shallow water. It's a neat little effect but purely cosmetic. Also this would make a fun 1v1 custom scenario.
Agree. Think he has the same stats as Prometheus, and less than Osiris, an Egyptian minor god. Would've been way cooler if he was able to summon meteor showers, tornadoes etc too.
@@benjamincost3244 actually Prometheus has slightly more HP than him and does basically twice the damage. Kronos's stats are the same as all the other generic titans with his unique design and ridicilously fast HP regen keeping him afloat. Also I agree he needed a special power , like maybe once every couple of minutes he summons a lesser titan or a small swarm of random myth units. Osiris is also basically unkillable , one guy put all the strongeat units in the game against him including the titans , Gaia lasted the longest but Osiris won with 80% of his health still there

Yeah, Kronos just needed smthing -special power, mythical minions or heck, more waves of enemies - to make it more epic/challenging to hold the line until Gaia arrives. You basically just distract his lumbering ass with your heroes for five minutes. The Prometheus, Cerberus and Rampage levels seemed much more apocalyptic with the constant unit spam and special titan powers (Prometheus' spawning mini mes, the Troll's conversion power) and this was supposed to be the actual APOCALYPSE!
Notice how the Gaia trees have a black square underneath instead of the water texture which should be there. There are several other textures which are also missing, e.g. cinematic block. Just shows what a buggy mess AoM EE is that they couldn't even copy and paste the correct textures for the units.
I think a lot of these visual glitches are fixed now in 2024, I had no problem with the game other than a few times when saving made the game crash and the save file got corrupted and some stuttering during play which wasn't really a big problem (though not sure if this one was the game's fault or my PC's).
i really hope viper sees this because the campaign is not just bad as in boring but it's also buggy as hell and needs a lot of restarts if you get stuck in cinematics
There is a campaign mission in AOE DE where the AI was so aggressive it made it nigh impossible and had to be patched. Would love to see you try it on hardest as its insanely tough! Unpatched of course if possible. Its the 2nd hittite mission fwiw.
I played the Hittite Mission 2 pre patch, you can check it. And I have to disappoint you, you can not play the pre patch version, unlike in AoE II HD, in the AoE DE you can not roll back patches.
Stop spending all your resources on Hero Upgrades! They are only better vs Myth units. Also, those big plumes of white are from the fire giant projectiles
REMEMBER THAY YOU HAVE GOD POWERS IN THIS GAME!!!! You could've perfectly used Traitor on the Heka Gigantes during the first attack. Granted you did it correctly during the second attack, but still you forget about your God Powers so often

But, I remember that you just need to keep at least one Summoning Tree alive in order to summon Gaia and win the game. In fact, yesterday, I watched a video of the mission in which that was the case - only one Tree had to protected. What makes it different in THIS video?
Oh, New Atlantis. I want to like you more than I do...but you feel so rushed. Your premise is so interesting and your levels so challenging but your characters fall so flat. Kastor and Krios are never given enough time to breathe. Kastor meets his father after a decade and they never say anything significant to each other; and Krios is no different than a Saturday morning cartoon villain. I'm just a little dissapointed because they've done so much better in the past. At least it is light-years ahead in quality when compared to the Chinese campaign.
Imagine if the last level had involved trying to win over the Atlanteans in the colony and exposing Krios' deceptions, instead of him sicking his (admittedly awesome) clockpunk robot army on the citizens for no reason. Would have been more interesting and maybe given Kastor real character development after his terrible decisions early on.
The middle portion of New Atlantis from Mt. Olympus to Rampage is one of the best campaigns ever but then it fizzles during the last three episodes. It almost feels like they had to cut the campaign short to make a deadline or something. Like when you're writing a birthday card and run out of room so you have to haphazardly cram everything into the bottom right corner.
IMO New Atlantis has some episodes that are better than anything in The Fall Of The Trident -Mt. Olympus, Prometheus, Rampage, Cerberus - but overall, the first campaign has a better story, characters and pacing. The sequel feels rushed at the end like the programmers had to cut things short to finish it before the deadline. As a result, the finale is a bit anticlimactic compared to FOTT's. But hey, it's better than The Tale Of The Dragon, The Star Wars Christmas Special of AOM campaigns.
Maybe just maybe they should've actually kept to the original plan and release the romans as the new civilisation. They could've write a better story. As the original campaign deals with the Trojan War, the sequel could show us what happened to them after the war. Aeneas could be the new protagonist, eventually founding Rome. And instead of having some stupid plot device with the deceived atlanteans, the plot would be to grow your Roman Empire and thus a good reason to attack the greeks and egyptians as they were never friends. The norse could be there as barbarian tribes attacking the empire.
Also, beating it on titan is one of RTS's greatest challenges, right up there next to WC3 world tree protection, and losing no bases in Halo Wars evacuation level
