Something similar happened to me a couple years ago. I am a single black woman and was looking to have a house built. I went to several builders. One builder company that I went to ignored me and saw several other families before me even though I had a scheduled appointment time. When she finally sat down to meet with me, she kept telling me that the custom things I wanted were too expensive. And she kept trying to end the meeting quickly. When I finally told her my income, her entire tone and demeanor changed. Smh. I said "never mind" and walked out. I ended up getting an even better home built by a different builder who treated me with respect from start to finish.

A similar thing happened to me, as a mixed race individual i get discriminated alot, especially down south but I'm used to it. But when i went to a contractor company about having a house built, I regret going their, I've never felt like that before, they said I couldn't afford the house like the one i was describing and said i was wasting their time, So i left as i was leaving my uncle who was the CEO and owner recognised me and asked me what was wrong, so i told him and he said he would handle it, when i walked back with him to her office you should have seen her face, she asked why didn't I tell her that the CEO was my uncle, so i told her why should i, do i need to tell everyone that my fathers a wealthy white man to be treated with respect as far as i know she and her staff that treated me poorly where fired. I learned that no matter where you go you'll be judge and that needs to change.

After the house was completed, my sons and I went to the Bricks to buy all brand new furniture, no salesman or woman talked to us. Finally an Indian sales guy came to us and he had just started his shift. We bought furniture worth 15K from this guy…all the others were like ..”oh,”😳. I was at a car dealership when this old farmer walked in and started looking at a Ford pickup in the showroom. The salesman ignored him for about 10 min. When this old man got his attention and he had to go over and talk to him,you could tell he wasn't happy. The old man asked him a bunch of questions about the trucks engine and drive train, warranties, availability, and color choices. The salesman answered most of the questions, showed all the enthusiasm of a man going to the dentist.About this time the owner of the dealership came in, rushes over to the old farmer, shakes his hand ,slaps him on the back and asks if he's being served.needless to say the salesman was stunned.Thats when the owner explains theve done business with this old farmer for 30 years. And this old man owns 3 farms in the area, and rotates out his trucks every 5 years.Long story short, the old man ordered 11 new trucks, writes a check and arranges to pick up the trucks the next week.

He came with his family to visit us in Phoenix AZ. We went out in the desert in our trucks but we all wished we had a big 4wheel drive. So on our way home, he seen something he liked and even though we were tired and dirty from playing in the desert all day…we stopped. The salesmen wouldnt give him the time of day. My uncle was upset but he showed restraint and crossed the highway. Where the salesmen gave respect even though we looked awful. My uncle bought two jeeps from this guy. They thought she really didn't have any money and was just looking. She was in women's dept I worked across the aisle in men's. When someone finally came up to her the lady made a purchase of several thousand. She was buying a new wardrobe for her grand daughter who was going away to school that fall. That's like the book entitled "The Millionaire Next Door." They acted just like a regular person, but a self-made multi-millionaire. Happened some sort to me at a lower scale when I was at the showroom to buy my first car. Nobody entertained me due to my race. All the others will get entertained even if they arrive later than me. I called the sales people a few times, none of them bothered or they just showed the hold up hand sign.. when one suddenly asked me "What are you doing here?", yes she said the same exact line, I told her what else I am here for? To buy a car and none of them is entertaining. She then ask a reluctant male colleague to guide me. His attitude changes once I provided him my pay slip documents for the car loan application. Here in my country we claim we are one of the most united multi-racial community, but our actions proved otherwise. House renting, house ownership, loan application, jobs, all are actually somewhat racial biased. I can't name the country else I will probably get arrested for excersixing my freedom of speech under the pretense I am creating "havoc" or disorder to the country's integrity and unity.

To sell a house depends on your attitude and the way you present your self !

Moral of the story: Never judge a book by it's cover
The Realtor got what he deserved, he is racist

Similar story happened to me as I was trying to buy a new car. No one would help me but eventually they sent out a token salesman to help. After running my credit they couldn't do enough for me. Offering me hot dogs & coffee to get me to stay.

Even if you have $$$ n show up in non designer clothing, you are judged for "looking" broke. It happens all the time.

I’m surprised that he wasn’t fired before then. What a total racist and jerk! I hope his wife leaves him, too. I love the ending.

I would've made sure he kept one principal in mind. I agree that his wife should leave him.

Imagine the $hit $torm there would have been if he HAD gone through with his threat to call the cops? I would assume that calling the cops on one's boss is not a good way to keep one's job and to boot it would be for "tresspassing" but he technically ALREADY OWNED THE PROPERTY. How can you be "trespassing" if you are the OWNER??

This is the same as Shannon and the boat. What is it with these people always assuming just because of their skin colour or appearance, they can't afford to buy things. When a person is racist, it doesn't define the other person they are mistreating, it defines them. His sacking served him right.

I've never seen someone that works on commission turn down money like that. How in the world did he get a license? He'd never make it as a used car salesman 😆.

These were obviously actors, but the storyline (AND the "bottom line"!) were as real as it gets.
I totally enjoyed seeing that Salesman (I refuse to call him a Realtor) get his comeuppance. With ppl like him, the best way to hurt them is to hit them in their pockets. ... but he should be happy that he learned what was really driving his "relationship."

Jamei Spencer got it right. I have noticed that a lot of the men being sued and fired for sexual harassment are described as being jerks from the day they started work.
