Thanks to @meguiars for powering the 280z build series.
In today's video we head to Erick's Racing to finally assemble our fully built L28 engine. We dropped this off about 7 months ago to get the head machined and the block built. Today it is finally done. We put together our Rods & pistons, crank, bearings, and more. The bottom end of the L28 is complete, now all we have to do is build the head!

Always great to watch people who are good at what they do. Especially when you can tell that Eric really enjoys the work. He makes it looks so easy.
You can tell Eric looks forward to waking up and getting into the shop each and every day. The passion is unreal and the quality of his work further proves he absolutely loves what he does! This is awesome to watch
I assume Erick specd all the parts can you ask him why he’s using those cheap rods? I would love to know the reason behind that on a build such as this which is supposed to be reliability and those aren’t exactly known for that.

Man this is so awesome, ive been designing engine parts in my CAD course for my engineering undergrad and to see and know whats being put together physically is so cool! Thank you for documenting the process of the engine assembly!
so satisfying seeing someone like Eric building a engine who knows what they are doing watching him do it is like watching me doing the same seeing him using the old school ring compressor made me miss my dad since his set was so banged up after being used since the 50s to assemble so many engine in his years to when i started doing the same with them that i had to get new ones to replace the old set. and yeah doing a engine takes time to get everything right so they are power making monsters.
Yoo this brings back memories assembling engines in school, especially seeing someone like Eric builing the L28. #madeittotheend

So I recently purchased a 260z and seeing this process like this is greatly appreciated, because you did not miss a single step in this video! and really I know I will come back to this video if I need a little guidance. Sometimes it's great to watch an "evolution" occur without all the "Internet Influencer Reaction" bits. Thanks for this Dustin and Eric! This is some good-good quality stuff! I am an amateur and I am now excited to tackle my dream build!

I’m not into the cars you are per say however you have vision, drive and as a Motorsports enthusiast I totally respect you also produce some insane content. What’s the horse power going to be if you are using racing components on the bottom end? I know generally you can get the the L28 up to 300-360hp, using a rebellious kit?
