The Knights precon with Sidar at the helm is very formidable. I upgraded it and it’s easily my most consistent deck with a crazy high win rate. The draw/recursion is so good and eminence is amazing per usual.
Bro… consider running protective bubble or security bypass or aqueous form …. Even old school whispersilk cloak…. Throw in Sun quan and kamiz obscura and you’ll be the Sovereign of Salt 😅
Sidar is such a powerhouse! Knight support was already pretty strong, and this deck pushed it to the sky. Feels good!
@@heresyseed I also like to run Sword of Once and Future, the pro U/B can get in the way of your Auras but the Surveil 2 on combat damage is perfect for the deck!
My favorite thing is to have Crashing Drawbridge out, cast Sidar and immediately throw a big knight into the bin and bring him onto the battlefield for free 😁
do u play it as pure tribal midrange? or smt like controlly ish?
It's wild that the Atraxa precon sells for 500 bucks but the cards all combined are 97 bucks 😂
it's $403 for the box lol
Scarcity + Beloved/Nostalgic + Original Printing + Sealed (pristine cards!) Condition = Very Valuable. Beta Serra Angel = $600 (NM), Fourth Edition Serra Angel (same art as Beta!) = $0.91
Ppl will waste money on anything
The Spirit Squadron precon from Crimson Vow headed by Millicent, Restless Revenant didn't get much love on release as it's monetary value was pretty low. But it absolutely smashes at the table! Having commander cost reduction PLUS board resilience in the command zone makes you very, very difficult to deal with. One of the best precons I have ever purchased.
Always depends on your enemies. I upgraded it a bit, but against a spellslinger deck or decks that deal 25 unblockable commander damage turn 5, you are simply outclassed. I especially have trouble against the lord of the rings precons.
It's also in blue, so it's extremely oppressive. Plus it has a million flying blockers and can perma-tap your creatures (tap 2 spirits to tap 1 other creature)
I have the Reap the Tides PreCon, and so far, I'm undefeated with it. Once I get mana ramping with the commander I just end games with board wipes that keep my hydras, sharks, etc. In play or create a shit ton of 1/1 insects that then each get +1/+1 counters. The 3rd board wipes made one give up and scoop and then I just swing with like 17 3/3 insects, an 8/8 tree and and a 12/12 hydra.
Dihada is super fun. the thing that she enables is, if you have a large commander collection and you have lots and lots of commanders you have yet to build, you can just throw all the white, black, red, Orzhov, Boros, Rackdos, Mardu, and colourless commanders in there and it just works. I think the only 2 commanders I didn't put in from my binder were Kaalia of the Vast & the Boros spell slinging minotaurs because they don't really work in the deck. all the others are fine. I named my deck "Dihada, Binder of Legendary Leftovers" and I threw all the legendary stuff in there. so as I build new decks I take things from this deck and replace it with some other junk.
there are many fun precons. I didn't buy the Edgar Markov precon, I bought the commander and a bunch of vampires and I had fun with it for years, I sold it and built Dihada instead. The Lord Windgrace one seems neat. I like the Simic one from Strixhaven a lot. But the best precons have to be the Warhammer 40K one, they are just so well made.
I prefer Merry & Pippin over Frodo and Sam as the lead commanders for that food precon. The Simic Elf precon from the lord of the Rings set is very powerful.
So on to the list:
The thing with Heads I win, tails you lose is that it is based on Gavin's personal deck and it doesn't have all the cards in the deck that are in his, That is what is so disappointing with it, for the price that it costs. they are fantastic commanders, but there are note-worthy cards missing. I don't know what the cards are, I just head the professor bring it up.
there is a reason Atraxa is the most built commander the last 2 years. Edgar is very cool, I've played it for years now on and off, finally sold it like I said earlier, very good. I got my Edgar for 30 $ a few years ago. the reason the precon was so expensive was Teferi's protection which was in the precon, the first printing of it.
Prosper is broken. there is not much else to say. he is a very degenerate individual. you sit there and collect treasure and then.. Torment of hailfire for 20-30 mana and everyone dies a horrible death. for me, the Planar portal deck costs more to buy than both Wilds of Eldraine decks put together (you can order both for special prize and Planar portal costs more lol).
The Necron deck is insane.
Personally, I bought the Imperium deck, I really like that one as well, I run Marneus Calgar as my commander, but I might build and buy a "Imotekh the Stormlord" deck that the professor put together. Imotekh is one of the commanders in the Necron dynasty deck. Another insanely broken one is "Trazyn the Infinite" and he goes infinite very fast like you pointed out. all you need is to have the commander out and you cast "buried alive" and you in the game. cast buried alive and you throw Pili-pala, Palladum myr, and walking ballista into your graveyard. your commander now has all the abilities of all these creatures, so you first get infinite mana by tapping and untapping your commander over and over, and with infinite mana, you put infinite counters on him and you shoot the table dead with walking ballista's ability. And yes, it is technically a one-card combo with the commander, as you cast buried alive and then you win.
I do agree there probably isn't anything that beats the Necron deck, but for me Exit from Exile in Baldur's Gate definitely should've been here. It's basically the same as Prsoer, except you swap out for a less threatening commander with an even more cracked 99. That deck will consistently steal games with 0 upgrades and is easily the best precon outside of Necrons that's still relatively easy to obtain.
For me Henzie toolbox torre is one of my favourite commanders. out of the box it just did so much so many etb and attack triggers that cripple your enemies. etali, inferno titan, kresh, stalking vengeance, woodfall primus and tree shaker chimera. As a commander i feel henzie allows for such a unique playstyle of being able to creature spam but still not appearing to be a threat at the board as none of the creatures stick around. Also henzie dying just adds for more creature spam.
i've dont alot of upgrading to it now, added alot more grayeyard recursion and some creatures that provide insane value such as: junji, atushi, ziatoro and seedguide ash. Regardless of all the changes alot of the precon creatures still remain and still play great against high powered decks.
Throw in protean hulk if you havent already it's perfect with Henzie
The 40k precons hands down my fav, they were so good right otta the box, I hope they do more 40k stuff 🙏🙏
I mean, we didn't get an aeldari, ork, tau, squat/votann or rogue trader deck, and that's before AOS, Fantasy and others (5 cards in SL don't count)
@nightmagnus7595 they made 4 pre con decks and released them all, are you expecting wotc to release 8+ pre cons?
@@liamdallas4679 It'd be really cool if they just did a second go round. Green/red orks, some mono-blue aeldari, some mono-white or blue-white Tau.... they could easily make a bunch more decks.
I've played against all the 40k pre cons many times. Everyone always says the mono black one is the best, but in my experience, it's always performed the worst.
A little graveyard exile and the necron deck quickly becomes less of an issue, especially if 3 other players are still at the table.
Cavalry Charge from March of the Machine and Mishra's Burnished Banner from Brother's War are both really powerful out of the box
I have 10 decks, been into magic for about 6 months, I have 3 precons being Jared Carthalion Painbow which ive done about $50 worth of tweaks, Food and Fellowship with easy $100 upgrade because of cards like Black Market Connections, Exquisite Blood, an Elesh Norn. And i got a collectors Inquisitor Greyfax precon that wont get touched at all. That foiling and art must stay together.
I own necron dynasties and legends legacy from what you’ve listed. The one I’ll mention not on the list is the toxic deco from Phyrexia all will be one. It’s very strong and probably my favorite precon to use or tied with necron
Haven’t finished the vid yet, but the Midnight Hunt Wilhelt the Rotcleaver deck is my favorite pre con of all time! I upgraded it when it came out and it became one of my regular decks on my roster for the next few years. I’ve since taken it apart but its a great commander and an awesome pre con
Some of these I am about to mention are CRAZY strong also. The secret lair probably shouldn't have been top 5 but the rest can be argued. Aesi, Lathril, Faldhorn, and Prossh were pretty gnarly out of the box as well.
Faldorn was the most surprising to not see here imo. That deck out of the box is cracked as hell. Lathril too kinda, just for the price.
The art on Heads I Win, Tails You Lose is so cool
I think the Mutant Menace is super strong. You just have to be patient, take damage and start swinging with your +10/+10 creatures. It gets insane.
Still watching so maybe it’s to come but I just played enduring enchantments this week as the base precon. I have never drawn so many cards in my life. It absolutely slapped. Needs just 3-4 cards added to help you finish but it gives its pilot so much value in game. Incredible right out the box
Which Commander did you use?
I prefer Imotekh for Necrons.
One issue with the Prosper Tomb Bound deck was a sub theme of rats. There’s like a half dozen or slightly more cards related to that.
I’m definitely happy to see the necron at number 1. It’s one of my favorite precons I run with Trazyn at the helm.
These were all super dope & I’m stoked to try y’all’s honorable mentions
Vampiric Bloodline (VOW) is so deceptively strong. With only a few changes (less than 10), Ive totally whooped constructed decks with very strong commanders. So...much...blood
I wish i had the notion to pick up head i win tails you lose, it looks real fun. I have roughly 12 commanders built some are just good piles, like a Derevi, i swear its not stax and some are tuned like Yuriko, top deck burn. One thing I absolutely couldnt resist though was the colorless precon Zhulodok.
A lot of these precons are pretty great especially for newer players.
i have one precon that will never bee broken apart or upgraded . the necron deck from Warhammer 40k. flavourful. beautifully unique arts. is a problem at casual tables.
100% same here. I have 24 decks and it’s the only one that will remain untouched. It’s also a collectors version so surge foil rules all lol
I got the Esper one with Greyfax. And yeah I refuse to tweak it in any way. The foiling and unique art is too cool to separate
@@gregwylie3970same, I got the Inquisitor Greyfax collectors and the foiling is sooo good. I have no curling issues also. I even sleeved the tokens which I normally don't do.
@@e6staffsargeify I’m jealous mine Pringled before opening them out of the box. I’ve been able to flatten them out maybe 50% by stuffing them tight into a rigid deck box.
@@gregwylie3970 F
I was worried about it just due to Wizards reputation with foil curl. But not even a slight curl for me. Only disappointment for me was finding out they didn't foil both side of the tokens
Edgar Markov was the first deck I ever bought. I got the precon for $60 Canadian and played it a ton before trying out some other decks.
Nerdgirl is super jelly.
I got a sheodred stain glass card in my sample pack from this DMU dihada precon👍
I was expecting the angel secret lair deck would have been on there before the flip one
Lathril precon SMACKS out of the box lol definitely stronger than Atraxa
The undead unleashed should definitely be top 5
Not sure if you have a new page to vote on the next topics, but the one in the info section is for the previous votes.
I would love to see a bilbo deck played across the table from me. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun.
You had me at Bilbo Birthday Suit.
No UR dragon? Thats crazy
Its so odd that everyone puts the necron deck so high. It was one of the first three decks i bought, and the necron deck has only won once and has been played so many times. My sauron preconn beats it every time. Part of the problem is i only ever mill things that screw me over.
Yaasss!!!!! Thanks nerdgirl for validating my favorite precon lol idk why but I just have so much fun with my food and fellowship deck
Team Sisters of Battle. Bring it bug lover! (Great video!)
Can you guys suggest 2 and 4 player commander precons that are well BALANCED right out of their boxes and still available to easily buy on Amazon? (no games stores nearby)
Cool Video :) Is the food and fellowship also properly playable in Duell/ French Commander?
Great video!
I agree with everything, especially how the Silent King isn't that strong of a Commander, the 99 in the deck are super strong 😹
Go Tyranids!
Mine are all painted differently, because I liked the idea of surviving splinter fleets surviving and reforming a new huge Hive Fleet for gaining biomass, I called it the Hive Fleet Superstes.
I am a bit sad i did miss the atraxa precon... But i just got the planar portal deck, have a bunch of red/black cards i wanna play but never found a good commander until i found Prosper!
And i bought the Imperial Warhammer deck. I used to play space Marines on the table so i love the deck, full flavour!
This was fun to listen to :)
I found a Japanese copy of it at Walmart back in 2017.
@@BAAWAKnight nice! Live in Sweden so i am not that fortunate 😅
why is the atraxa precon so expensive, you literally can buy all single cards for 50 % off the price ^^
Alot of ppl say the necron deck is good, but i always struggle when i use it (using stormlord). Am i missing something?
I have all the 40k decks and for me the best by far it's tyranids swarm
Dope review guys!
this is not my personal choice therefore the whole video is bad and so are everyone that voted, waaaah! I mean, Nice vid. Interesting breakdown of the contents of each. I'm not a fan of 'Top 13 things for reasons' videos generally but you made it work. Thanks!
I made zeriam outta the dihada deck, and its one of my favorite decks
Love this series!
Noob q: i see that recent Phyrexia angel mutant thing comm d rising in price. Is it wise to get it for 39,90€ in europe before sells out??
#1 is surprising. Didn't look strong at all, I'll have to check out the decklist to see why.
Heads I Win Tails you lose and any secret lair commander deck should not be considered for this list.
I loved the warhammer precons. But i will say im very surprised the urza esper deck from brothers war didnt even get even an honorable mention. That deck is terrifying and to me is the most powerful deck they ever printed
I actually didn’t know that atraxa was a precon leader. I pulled her in Phyrexia all will be one and I’m building her for poison atm
2 different ones?
The convoke precon has made me the archenemy far too many times
Tyranids make for good krumpin' for my orks. :p Waaagh! (I do love the Nids deck though, Magus is NUTS as commander.)
Calling Atraxa a big dum dum is probably the best thing I've heard all year regarding magic 😂
The fact that Lathril isn't on the list is an abhorrent mistake by the community. You can take it out of the box and spank a table easily.
Faldorn and Prosper are the 2 best imo
are these precons considered as "casual" edh?
Am I the only one who likes using anykir the traveler over trayzon? (Def spelled both wrong... Spelt...? ..)
My Favorit precons are Edgar Markov and Faldeon, Dread Wolf Herald
Guys, I believe the title is wrong. There's nothing Dimir there, hehe
I disagree pretty hard with numbers 3 and 4 on this list. The commanders are out of this world, but the decks themselves are only meh. The Tyranid warhammer deck, the knights deck from MOM, both Brothers War decks are all better.
Think you might have posted with the wrong video title
find girl to look at you the way this girl looks at that guy at 08:19
My personal favorite is Hosts of Mordor, it's so potent despite what people say, especially with the main set sauron at the helm! I upgraded mine to include ALL 4 saurons and it's insanely fun and strong (grixis moment) at our table of mostly unadulterated precons :u
I'm sorry NerdGirl, I play Deathwactch. I'm not allowed to like xenos filth.
Necron had so many great commanders and it's face commander isn't one of them lol
Unfortunately with the exception of the number one deck this was just was what are the most broken precons
Markov should be #1
and how about the other warhammer decks
3 of these are universes beyond. Says a lot about what the game has become
Surprised the ur dragon is not on the list.
This guys have to be joking
#FirstCommentsPosse Can't wait to hear what it is. If I had to guess I'm going to go with the Atraxa precon.
I appreciate your disdain for eminence.
When they rank what Wizards acknowledges as a weak mistake, as a powerful deck. I think these guys are ranking based on fun, not power
Which one? Most of our show is a community poll, but we also thought all the ones picked were fairly strong. What did we miss?
@@DeckedOutEDH if you gotta ask, you prove my point
@@bugg6597 we made your point by saying we don't make the rankings? 😂
@@DeckedOutEDH then don’t post it lol 😂
I and many others hoped for your list, it’s why we click on your video over hundreds of other options. If you’re just reading a list off the internet, begone with you
@bugg6597 be gone with you..? Lol
This whole show is based on the idea of letting the community fill out polls. Everyone votes and thats how we get the top 5. This is why we have honorable mentions. You don't have to like it. But don't blame us because you were too lazy to listen to the into or read the description... lol there were over 600 votes for this this top 5. We think that's really cool. :)
Why is Breed Lethality almost $400 dollars? 🥲
You can get the Anthology 2 version for like 180
On Ebay
