  • iMphepho is typically referred to in the same breath as white sage and in this video we unpack the difference between the two and the appropriate protocol to observe when using iMphepho, which can be more complex than one would imagine, so much so that I had completely overlooked it until I was requested to address it.

      I'm 17 years old and I have opened my eyes from being a strict Christian to now being an fully open minded spiritual person now my mother and eveyone in the house are just sceptical believers of the spiritual community and the Christian community at the same time. I am the one that practically has that actively spiritual whereas they feel the need to only be spiritual if there is a problem or they urgently need somthing. now in this situation does it restrict me from getting my own imphepho and bringing it as well as getting other things that have a relation in african spirituality or do I have to wait till I have my own place?

    • @SangomaSociety
      @SangomaSociety  4 роки тому +3

      @@mbuzimanyike this is a good question. Firstly, I will do a video on this. Secondly, we honor the house in which we live, the country, the laws that govern. Paraphernalia is not as important as what is in your heart. Don't go against the laws of your home. Honor God and your ancestors in the ways that you can and you will see that you are heard. As long as you take the knee and make the time you don't have to have candles or umuthi (mphepho is definitely a medicine) your heart is the most important part.

My flat mate is averse to the smell so I came across a video stating I can use candles and water instead which I've been doing. But for a few days now I've been having a longing in my bones so to speak to use it and for the smell. I've been advised against using it on the beach which I used to do in the mornings. If I cannot use it in my space out of respect for my flat mate and her beliefs or the beach where else can I burn it ? Thokoza.

    Hey lady. Thank you for the info. I'v been doing it wrong this whole time. Question: Recently used imphepho because I was not feeling right about visitors I had. That night I dreamt of them as well as a snake biting my ankle. Could this be correlated to the incorrect use of the imphepho or was I being shown something?

    Thokoza Makhosi 👏👏,I grew up in my mother's family and didn't really know or relate with my father's family,uma ngiphahla ngiqala ngibize abakuphi,my mother's side or my father's side?

    • @SangomaSociety
      @SangomaSociety  5 років тому +3

      Makhosi, Siziwe it really depends, family matters are actually coming up in the next few weeks, I'll unpack this one in there. If you were never lobola'd as ingane or your mother was never lobola'd by your father then it's best you pay respect to your moms side first.

    Thokoza Gogo. How do you know which ancestor is good or bad? You said you need to be specific and talk to the ancestors whom you knew.
    Does the life they lead when they were alive dictate what kind of ancestor they will be?

    Thank you for the instrution on how to burn. I have a question on contacting the ancestors. My afrikan decendence comes from my paternal grandmother. Quick family history she was first generation free slave, since no records can be found here on the island its very hard to know who my Mita and Pito were. ( great grandmother/father)
    Any sugestions as to how to contact them once i start my meditation?

    Thokozani Gogo
    Had a mini seizure during this video I was led to these videos today.
    I have been told idlozi is seeking me to become indawo I’ve known that I’m not part of this world or place over never fit in I’ve never made sense in my language in my spirit or energy!
    It’s become easier to be at home alone in my thoughts or with my ancestors.
    I am relieved when I’m alone and outside of the human space.
    Water is with me in my dreams in my days a pool was recently built at home and want to live in it I want to be near ware all the time
    I’ve alienated everyone in my life I can’t drink date have sex or party all of it gives me no pleasure or sensation.
    I am tired of being unseen but I’m heard when I bellow the truth that drains people’s feelings.
    I see people for who they are where they are and try not to speak and if I don’t I call sick I’m bed bound until I just blurt it out. It’s led me to hiding

      It's time for you to initiate. This is no way to live. Your symptoms are very typical of umuntu ongugogo. Time has come, answer the call, there's nothing to enjoy in your state. That's not life.
