- I've never really shopped at JojaMart, and decided with this run to take it a step further and boycott Pierre as well. So, how hard is it to finish the Community Center and reach perfection without the aid of Stardew Valley's retail goliaths? There are a few items that have to be purchased from Pierre in order to achieve perfection, but I limited myself to those purchases only. Not exactly a 100 Days Challenge, but I hope you enjoy this journey with me as I Boycott Pierja Mart!
Rules of this Challenge: Don't buy from or sell to Joja Mart or Pierre (minor exceptions needed for perfection achievement)
Goals of this Challenge: Complete the Community Center; Have Krobus as a Roommate; Earn 1 Million Gold (all within the year); Achieve Perfection Year 2

The Boycott Challenge was such a fun one to do in version 1.5, and it's crazy to think that now in 1.6 there is a possibility to do a 100% complete boycott...provided you don't consider perfection waivers to be a "joja" purchase. Speaking of the challenge itself, it was brought to my attention by @ehudkotegaro that I could have made my own Vinegar instead of buying it from Pierre - so now I'm kicking myself a bit. When you think you did a lot of research only to find out you didn't do enough research.....but I wanted to apologize for my oversight in this video and give a heads up if anyone wants to attempt this challenge - that you can do an even better boycott than I managed 😊 Thank you so much for all the love and comments on this video, and I hope you have an amazing day!!
the waivers are 100% a joja purchase, as is the bird who will collect the walnuts for you, as it has the Joja J on their perch.

Oh man, I saw a perfect mod for a run like this a while ago. It was a mod that would let you steal from Pierre so long as you didn't get caught.
Oh, yes! I think I saw Emma doing a run with that theft mod, looked really fun and random :)

@@AubreyAngst Holy shit, sorry man. I think I got a lucky run I’m in year 5 and the witch has visited 7 times and I have 5 owl statues and saw the sea monster twice I think I just got the luckiest save file ever lmao

It's not THAT rare. I have binned at least 7 of them. The lucky ring (got that 3 times, twice on the same of my 7 perfection saves) is rarer, the living hat (got it once) is rarer still.

Now that tea saplings are nerfed to half their value, I wonder how much it will affect future challenges like this.
On the other hand, now way more seeds can be found that didn't even exist before. Pierre may become obsolete!
Indeed! I'm looking forward to seeing what new money making strategies the community comes up with in the coming months. Some of the 1.6 changes mean a full on Boycott may now be possible for perfection instead of having to purchase the 6 items I did from Pierre. Pretty exciting! :)
@@AubreyAngst It does take a bit but you can actually make more profit from tea saplings now, you can pick them back up after planting them so it can only be done on the final 7 days of the year, harvest the tea after every day and then you reach more than the old profit value, but it takes time

it’s a buff but not a major one.
technically they got buffed, harvest them the final week of the season, then pick the saplings back up again the last day, and you make MORE money than just crafting and selling.
Seeing you donate the dino egg instead of hatching it was pure pain 😂

Well now that Dino floors exist (and are fairly common in skull cavern deep dives), it isn't as bad as it used to be.
If you think that's bad, let me tell you what happened to me: I use the Automate mod, and put a dino egg I got super lucky to fish on day 7 into a chest... that I decided to move a week later by pushing it...right past a mayo machine that immediately sucked it up.

A little tip for anyone struggling with the ginger harvest special order: make sure you immediately unhoe the spots after harvesting the ginger, that way more can grow back the very next day!! I usually end up finishing the order in about half the time you're given! 💗

I went 300 hours into the game, not realizing the Tea Sampling was a thing, because I didn't find out about it until I was going for a completionist finish.
The quest had apparently glitched, I had to slingshot my friendship down to zero and get it back up to fix it >.>
2 and a half hour distraction from pain, thank you fr.

Elderberry is an underrated flavor. Some of my best traveling memories involve an elderberry lemonade or a cocktail. Major props.
Ooh, I'll have to try elderberry lemonade some time since I really enjoyed the Elderberry Blackberry herbal tea. Very nice tartness to it :)
Very nice aubrey! Knocked that perfection goal out of the park OMG, No back pack upgrade would have driven me insane though. Its a shame I think that tea sapling strategy got nerfed in the latest update....I loved that strategy so that erks me a little bit :P And again cheers for the shout out there in the beginning of the video for my fishing guide video. Yeah, I'm sad about the Caroline/tea sapling nerf as well - I've actually not even been getting requests from her on the board week one in any of my 1.6 playthroughs so I'm wondering if he nerfed the controlled ability to gain friendships that way as well. We shall see :)

@@AubreyAngstYeah but you can chop them down and get back the sapling. So you can grow them, harvest the leaves, and then chop down the tea saplings. Selling then together (i think) is 600g so i see it as a buff lol
How much did they sell for before the nerf? Because i started streaming stardew and all i saw is that they sold for 250 which i thought was amazing!

Nice work! I did a run similar to this a while back, though I made some exceptions for the backpack and bouquet, because I thought it'd be poetic to marry Abigail on that file, and I'm not interested in extreme inventory management.

That's insane that the Ancient Seed was your last item to get for the Museum. I'm pretty sure I always get it within the first ten items.

Oh hey, someone else who refuses to do the Joja achievement on steam. I'm also missing 3, haha, although that's only because I did perfection with mods (twice) so it didn't give it to me. The last one, not surprisingly, is beating Prarie King without dying. Which I seriously doubt I will ever, or even will be able to, do.

Lewis is the one who picks up the bin contents and I've always assumed he ships your goods out to the city or elsewhere to be sold...particularly since you can ship almost anything, but the town vendors will only purchase certain items.

I use OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) to record gameplay on my PC. If you're playing on console - I've had pretty good luck with elgato capture cards, but haven't recorded from console in some time so not sure what else is out there.

Do you know how annoying it is to grow strawberries in winter for demetrius when you dont have deluxe retaining soil yet? Meanwhile in return 3 years in a row i get actual trash? At least my first year i got Clint and he gave me a gold bar which was better than cookies. Year 5 was lewis, year 6 was pam and year 7 was Elliott.
