I love how it only took the slashing of Diego's jacket to go after Cuchillo. It was probably one of his favorites. In color, I think it was the dark sea green suit with the sky blue embroidery that he wore in the masquerade episode.
Thankfully, due to Gilbert Roland having fenced on a few films prior to this(one had the same fight arranger I might add), Fred Cavens was able to make a fight where Zorro had a genuine challenge, I think the most disappointing fight in the series was against Varga AKA El Agila(The Eagle), he was bigged up by his lackey as being a brilliant swordsman but the actor clearly wasn't.
I suppose it was from having two Spanish speakers, El Cuchillo (Gilbert Roland) and Chulita (Rita Moreno) but they had more Spanish dialog than in any previous episode. Previously they confined themselves to a word or two whose meaning is obvious from context. In this episode it's entire lines of Spanish muttered full speed by native speakers. I found this subtitled in Spanish, but, they only subtitled the English, not the Spanish. So there went my hope of reading what they were saying.
Good heavens! Chulita is Rita Moreno! Should have known that attitude anywhere. El Cuchillo fences really close in, like he's more comfortable in a knife fight than with swords.

I was eleven in 1957 and I sure enjoy seeing old Walt introduce this episode. Thanks corporal Reyes.
I think Cuchillo needs to stop repairing his vest since Zorro keeps cutting off his buttons! Lol!
Least he didn't shoot Zorro in the back, lol.
Zorro's taking Cuchillo seriously this time. This time he put his cape over his arm. He didn't do that for their first fight.

That rope trick was very smart, just target the man with money and worry about capturing the gang when you have more back up

The dancing was what made me think of Rita as it reminded me of the rooftop dance in New York!!!!!☺️
