    I've had SoundMagic E10C, E80C, Rha ma390, Sennheiser CX275, momentums and many more, but these BlON BL03s jeeeeZ, they killed all others, I think BLONs BL03 competes with IEMs costing $150-200 easy.

    I've always had my eye on the Blon - B 03 and finally, after my bluetooth headphones gave up on me, I decided to order them. But just to make sure, I wanted to see some reviews on these and I am so glad I stumbled upon your video. I discovered something very interesting about the blon bl 03! I bought one pair, loved them to bits, bought a second pair for back up. Completely different sound signature?! Exact same supplier and everything.
    So i bought a 3rd one while keeping the other 2 around for comparison. Read on to find out how the 3rd one sounded!
    Okay so, i will briefly explain the sound signature of all threee:
    Blon 03 ( my 1st pair) - a slightly L shaped sound signature.
    very balanced with beautifull lush forward mids, sparkly and airy highs and deep and full lows, a magic mix. They sound like people have worked on the tuning for over a decade. Ha!
    Blon bl 03 (2nd pair, 7 months later ) - different, as in very different. I thought they changed the tuning. A V shaped sound signature with recessed mids. Reminded me of the dt 770 but warmer.
    The blon magic was gone in this pair to be honest.
    Blon bl 03 ( 3rd and last pair) -
    A strong L shaped sound signature.
    No sparkle in the highs and still a bit weak in the mids. A bit of a boring sound with bloated bass.
    Last 2 pairs are nothing like the 1st pair i got.
    The funny thing is, now that i have compared my 3 "identical" pairs i seem to understand the bad reviews about the blon bl 03 a lot better. The reviews go from one of the best sounds under 500 dollars to angry audiophiles that call it a dr dre Beats iem. Now that i have 3 pairs, i see where there coming from.
    The bad reviews describe my last 2 pairs with their over powering bass that bleeding into the mids. + recessed mids and dull/dark highs. And then the complete opposite reviews are extremely positive and describe my first pair.
    I am sad to announce that i am running out of IEM money so i can not keep on buying new pairs to test. But there seems to be a big difference in quality.
    The last 2 pairs i ordered in the same week are even very different from each other and ofcourse unrecognizable from my original pair.
    So that is why i wanted to write this comment for people out there looking to buy the blon.
    I will advise anyone, that has the time/money, to buy and try more pairs before settling on one pair of blons. You can get lucky and if you do then you truly do have a sub 500 dollar iem in my opinion!
    Oh btw one thing Blon does very well, is matching left and right iem to sound very close to each other. So quality control on the channel balance seems good.
    I dont know what to say really, i hope i can find a true back up for my 1st blon pair but it seems that the blon bl 03 is truly a "unique" iem 😏
    Goodluck!

    • @wtfgebeurdmij2991
      @wtfgebeurdmij2991 2 роки тому +1

      Maybe they glue the drivers in by hand? Maybe that is why each driver sits in the unit slightly different which results in bouncing frequencies or something.
      Or maybe the drivers have very poor quality control and they have a difference in the quality of resources etc.
      If i remember correctly i saw someone talk about the blon drivers being made by a third party. He said that the driver company makes millions of iem drivers for different chinese music companys.

      That’s a QC nightmare… hadn’t heard that before, but it sure would explain quite a bit.
      That said, I’ve had plenty of discussions surrounding these IEMs and it never really felt like the sound was so different between pairs from different people. It usually went on like the sound signature was indeed the same, just that it didn’t speak to everyone’s tastes, which is again, totally plausible.
      Still thanks for sharing your anecdotal evidences/experience, mate!

    • @wtfgebeurdmij2991
      @wtfgebeurdmij2991 2 роки тому +1

      @@TechHyped thank you for reading! It could just be that i have had bad luck.
      But i want to add that the differences i am describing between pairs are ofcourse a bit exaggerated like most audio descriptions so that is why they maybe sound somewhat the same to many people. But the thing is there is a certain combination of tuning, bass quantity etc which created that blon magic in my first pair. And that is what makes it so dynamic and fun and vinyl sounding in my opinion. I could understand that people with a slightly different sounding pair miss that magic.
      But ofcourse taste is a always a big factor!

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  2 роки тому +1

      Oh, I read everything bro!
      Slight differences in tuning and all the other aspects for sure could make someone “miss the magic”, especially since we’re talking sound and peoples subjective taste in sound. It not being a matter of objective numerical performance, QC is even more important, I’d wager.
      Thanks again for sharing 🤘🏻

      @@TechHyped yeah! Good points, a little difference goes a long way in this precise hobby. Posted this story ( edited for a better read ) on reddit today to see people their experience. And there is a lot of activity in the discussion about similar or other experiences surrounding this popular IEM.
      Great that you react to everyone, i hope some day you cannot do that anymore! Which would be a good sign for your channel growth!

    Eagerly waiting for the delivery while getting really hyped seeing the reviews. I had Tin T2 and lost ,😭 , loved it except the bass weight , quantity was a little below of what I like but the most difficult thing was the treble ,no it was not excessive,not uneven but kinda hard edged and reminded me a lot of dt770. Expecting a much more forgiving and soft signature while still be tonally accurate more or less. Oh and a little more body and weight in bass . Hope i am not going to be disappointed.

      I'd consider the T2 more than the Blon 03 or 05, since the ZSN Pro already has a bit more bass and low end in the mix, something with less pronounced bass that's a bit more chilled out like the T2 might be a nice addition to your collection ;).

      1 - you don’t *NEED* a dac
      1.1 - but it would be better than the sound out of either the iPod or the S10. Look for dongle-dacs like the dragonfly cobalt, the thx onix and that sort of stuff.
      1.2 - your chances of actually hearing the difference, being new to IEMs, are pretty slim, so don’t bother for now ;)

    Will these be a better option for a first timer over the Bl01? Just planning to use it with my smartphone and laptop. The only concern I have for the Bl01 is that a lot of people says it needs a dac to unlock its full potential. Does the bl03 have the same issue? Or is it fine using them on smartphones/laptops?

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  4 роки тому

      Ok, I'll answer this comment since it will kind of answer your question on the Blon BL-01 video as well:
      I think the 03 is better. Plain and simple. At this price point, I'd go for the 03 or the 05 if you can grab it in a promo of sorts, but the 03 is MUCH more comfortable for me, so I gravitate towards it a lot more than for the 05.
      After the 03, I'd say the next "must have" would be a Tin T2, and after that, aim for stuff on the level of the Starfields and Legacy 3 (0ver $100).
      As for the Dac situation, I don't really think so. The 01 had the advantage of being tested while hooked to a Schiit Modius, which is an EXCELLENT dac, and it still didn't bring it in comparison to the 03 to my ears... When I first tested the 03, I didn't have the Modius around and my DAC was the built-in one from my Scarlet 2i2, or whatever portable player/phone I had on me.
      The 03 can scale nicely with better Dacs, but I'd say it'll be more prone to scale with better amps, rather than Dacs directly, but it's still not *needed* to push them to enjoyment.
      I think this covers the questions on both comments hahaha... Anyway, if there's anything else I can help out with, let me know.
      Cheers ;)

      Ony thing is the metal feel in a colder day, but that's not such a problem. It gets to a nice temperature pretty flipping fast.

    Can I listen to lossless audio with this?? My phone headphone jack supports 24bit 194Khz.. So can I listen to lossless audio from apple and later this year Spotify??

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  3 роки тому

      The headphones (or IEMs) you use, as long as they're analog, yes they can be used to listen to lossless stuff.
      What's going to impact you making it either possible or not, if the hardware and software you're using to decode/translate/send that audio signal to whatever you're using as a dac/amp and then to your speakers or headphones.
      That was more convoluted than I anticipated... lol!
      TL:DR - yes, you can. Headphones, IEMs and speakers are NOT a barrier for listening to any quality music/audio.
      The rest of the hardware and software you are using can be.
      ps: if your speakers or headphones are trash, you could say "it is a barrier for listening to any quality music/audio", but you get what I mean ;)

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  3 роки тому +1

      Think of it like this: do I wanna chill and enjoy the music with a warmer, more melodic touch, or do I wanna enjoy the music in a pumped up and more energetic fashion?
      If the first, T2. The second, BL03.
      That said, Jazz has a higher tempo, more energetic rhythm but not necessarily a lot of punch, which could be enhanced by the bl03’s approach, while the lo-fi stuff would be fine with either.
      Ps: I’ve been personally gravitating towards the T2 more, recently.

    We see some budget iems with 4 or 5 drivers. blon has only 1 ab and 1 dynamic. Do you think blon can beat the other budget iems with more drivers ? Does it mean having more driver produces better sound quality ?

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  4 роки тому +2

      Short answer:
      1 - yes it can
      2 - more drivers means more "control" over what the sound profile can be (In theory), but not necessarily better sound quality.
      Going SUPER nuts about that theory I mentioned:
      Why "in theory"? Well... You clearly don't NEED multiple drivers to deliver good sound, but - and I'm speculating here - with smaller (tiny, really) drivers like we see in IEMs, tuning might be more difficult when compared to headphones with 50mm drivers inside, for example.
      So, having multiple drivers, would mean you can focus each one of them to a specific area of the spectrum, and by combining them all, push the precise overall sound profile you want.
      At least, that's how I see it (and I can very well be extreeeeeeeeemely wrong), and part of that is because of how speaker drivers work.
      Yes, there are speakers with ONE driver in the middle that does everything, as well as speakers with multiple drivers, and USUALLY, multiple drivers separate the frequencies between the drivers, in a matter of focus.
      In the same price-range, there's a ton of stuff with more than one driver around that won't perform to the level of the Blons.
      And in higher price-tiers, there are single-driver stuff that's just as good as multiple-driver options.
      I guess it's a "way of doing things".
      I'm more impressed by single-driver IEMs doing exceptional things, tho, simply because, as I understand it, it's more difficult to dial in the tweaks.

      Amount of drivers doesn’t mean better sound, but as I haven’t heard the Anc, can’t really say much here ;/

      @@TechHypedokay then,, after watching your review i changed my mind that I should buy the blon 03. But as a gamer or a bass lover would you still prefer this?

      Excellent bass response and its a fun IEM for gaming as well.
      I’d say Blon BL05 over the 03, tho.

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  4 роки тому

      If you mean a dedicated dac, yeah... sure!
      But if you wanna be REALLY pedantic about it, one could say basically everything that’s not 100% analog has some sort of dac built in the mix... lol 🤣

      @@TechHyped actually I mean can I use this on my phone or laptop without ekstras. I will use it casually for that how about gaming performance(distance and direction for fps games like cs go pubg) and microphone performance. Currently I have jbl t110 and want something much better than this jbl.

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  4 роки тому

      Yeah, I got the idea hehe. You can use it just fine without an external dac, no problem.
      As to performance for gaming, its a great little deal. Good mids and highs, good soundstage, altho it sometimes feels slightly “enhanced”, and the bass is 🤘🏻.
      That said, if you rather have something with little/no low end to enhance footsteps and that sort of stuff, this isn’t it.
      I’ve gamed a lot with them with no issues, so to my tastes its more than fine.
      What I can’t say much about is the mic quality... didn’t test the version with the mic wire, but I’d assume its “barely alright”, because its a wire mic.... nothing special.

    Is this suitable for gaming? like csgo or valorant?

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  4 роки тому +1

      Yep. For a super competitive environment, if you wanna quell the low end a bit just 'cause you're used to, the T2s are a better option (probably, and video on them coming this weekend btw), but the quality of the low end on these is just too tasty to throw away.
      I'd game on these every day if I had to... And I say "had to" because I have loads of other stuff to test and try, but you catch my drift ;D

    They didn’t work for me with the stock tips. After changing the tips, they came to life. The bass was slamming nicely. They are very enjoyable.
    Occasionally, I found them a bit harsh on trebles.
    Example : Roxette - Good Karma. Between 0:47 and 1:02
    Still a great IEM, and would totally recommend them too.

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  4 роки тому +1

      I actually switched the tips permanently to the ones that came with my Tins and been using them like that. Much improved comfort, seal AND it also helped the sound signature come a bit more alive as well.

    • @al_kaloid
      @al_kaloid 4 роки тому +1

      I agree with everything you said Marian. While the treble can get a bit overly exciting at higher volume and depending on the recording (the part you mentioned is harsh on everything but the dullest, warmest headphones/speakers if you ask me), it's definitely managable. The stock tips are subpar imho. As is the case with every IEM, the correct fit for YOUR ears is incredibly important. The tips really made the difference from an absolutely okay to a really, really impressive IEM. I like the blue Tin tips as well and used them for a while on the BLONs, but the porous nature of them seems to soften the sound a bit (not always in a good way). I found a pair of high quality silicone tips from an old pair of Pioneer IEMs. They are fairly big (bigger than the usual tips I use) and rather flexible and have a bigger opening but damn.. match made in heaven. They seal in a way that makes the bass very punchy but still precise(ish, considering the price and the bass hump), adds to the soundstage and gives an exciting yet not overbearing treble (all compared to the blue Tin 2 tips and the stock garbage). Sorry for the wall of text.
      TLDR; Make sure you test a lot of different tips with these! Your ears will thank you.

    • @TechHyped
      @TechHyped  4 роки тому +1

      Couldn't have said it better... Tips are extremely important for the fit of IEMs, and can make or break the experience.
      It's just like with headphones and speakers, and anything related to sound, really... What's good or works for someone else, doesn't automagically works or is good for you, so always experiment! ;)
