I've never played any of the FF games but I heard this in a Minecraft video of all places lol, spent about half an hour ctrl+F searching the comments for any mention of "music" or "song" and eventually found someone saying it was called "Wandering Flame" from FFX, and here I am! Absolutely in love with the track

I lost the person I loved 6 years ago she just left without any goodbyes I was not the best person we fought alot over silly things but one thing has remained a constant over the years no matter what I tried my feelings for her never went away last night she called out of nowhere apologizing for how she ended things with me now I just felt a rush of emotions I thought I locked away deep inside my heart wants to believe things could be like before but in reality this maybe the final goodbye this ost has helped me cope alot over years

While I had played FFX in my childhood, (or atleast tried to), I never finished it and it became a very vivid memory of the PS2 era of video games. During the early or mid 2010s I was browsing through the numerous FF titles and listening to all the OSTs until I came across this. Wandering Flame would help me sleep a lot during those years, I would have the song endlessly on repeat as I drifted into unconciousness. Rediscovering this gem as I haven't heard it in such a long time feels great and, I guess, will be helping me sleep tonight once again. Thank you
If sadness could be one song... I'd want it to be this. It feels like a cradling feeling, being somewhere comfortable enough to let it out, the breaks in the melody, sobs, the change in the calm, tears rolling down. The past looking you in your eyes, getting to see how much it made you care. There really is nothing like feeling safe enough to cry. I don't think I'd ever want to leave.

The older I get, the more I appreciate FFX and everything it tried to do. As a kid, I didn't really like the game much. In fact, I misunderstood the game to be an overtly melodramatic and cheesy JRPG and much preferred FFXII on the PS2. Now, I understand everything Square did with the game. Everything. It really is a special game, far more special than most games within the JRPG genre and outside of it. Wandering Flame has become a staple in my chill playlists, and this version will be added to it as well. Beautiful stuff.
I could never get into FFXII and I desperately wanted, it felt so impersonal compared to the older games (and I'm someone who appreciates such a colder story too) X is the last game in that series that had "special something" that you can't deliberately manufacture. It's the one story who's themes have aged the best imo too. I'm glad it was created.

XII was after all the most divisive game of the series up to that point and as much as I love the game even today there are some arguments from the other side about it I'd have to agree with. The story I enjoyed quite a bit but there was room for far better character development and party interactions within the main cast. I still enjoy everything else about the game, but those two areas were definitely disappointing. Doubly so considering the series' usual standards in those aspects. X, on the other hand, is a game that gets just about everything right with its storytelling.

It's amazing how much slowing a song down can make something either sound like a remix, or something else almost different. That said, this is very great. It's relaxing just like the original, maybe even more so. Still depressing though..Makes me think of all the things Tidus must have felt while going through that hellish journey, having to deal with the frustration of trying to come up with a plan to save Yuna's life, and not receiving any help from anyone else but Rikku in the process. ONLY to find out his whole journey and 'life' is about to be cut short, since he's going to disappear when everything is over.
Absolutely beautiful piece. FFX remains my favourite game of all time after all these years. The game is simply magical and I love to play it at least once a year. I think one of the reasons I love it so much is because it gives the most discreet middle finger to organised religion, which I have had some terrible personal experiences with. Well.. the devistation lassts generations.... the economy and so forth will not be able to grow beyond a certain point. Unless they learned how to adapt and become so innovative that in every span of 5 to 10 years, they could easily have a decent society again, specially if yevon clergy was amended to where things were not as secretive, this way the cycle wouldn't be a horrendous downward spiral. As it went down the route we remember. Seymour Guado slowly became the way we know him to be, and so we can see it would have went hos way at some point. But you see, it would be hard on the fayth. Perhaps this is why they started off so much weaker than in the past, they were tiring of "dreaming" but yes, we also know the power if of the Aeon matches the skills and resolve of the summoner too of course.
