    • @helloRockwood

He'd also hold "his kids" accountable. If he heard you were bombing another class, he'd call your study hall and get you sent to his class and make sure you got your work done. Most of us didnt have parents that were nearly as concerned with our grades as he was. "You aren't living up to your potential. If you let this place beat you down and make you quit, you let everyone you can't stand, win. You are better than this and I know it. I'm going to be on you every day until I'm not alone in that belief." I went from barely passing(pure laziness) to honor roll, because of him. I wasn't afraid to leave it all behind and find my place in the world because of the self confidence he instilled in me.

There is nothing as permanent as a temporary solution, or a temporary nickname in this case. Props to your community vocational education! Those kids are rockin’ it . It’s awesome to see teachers who care and spend their time developing students into young adults with skills. I still remember my Vo-Tech teacher from high school. I think the county closed down his class years ago, even though a company offered $50k a year in support to keep it open. They valued the kids graduating and becoming prospective employees that much. Such a loss. Don’t let this happen in your community, please!
