Aside from the below, Scott was the ONLY person that Joe Zawinul allowed to produce his own music in his late years. Scott has a depth of musical understanding that allows him to advance what Joe was doing without trying to be him or copy him. He really deserves MUCH wider acclaim, but sadly he rather lacks Joe's charisma on stage...
I agree. I saw Scott play once with Scott Henderson's Tribal Tech. It might have been one of his first gigs with that group in Rochester, New York state. I saw this guy sitting on the stage just before the show, and I'm thinking, man, that disheveled round-shouldered guy needs to clear out so Scott (Henderson) can play. Turns out he was in the band! :) And wow, has he come a long way since then. When he does his harmonizations it's incredibly advanced, and wow, incredible soloing.

I hope these guys are on our side! We need more citizens like this.... YES
I don't think it sounds cheap at all . Sometimes a musician has to move through another musician to get past it and develop their thing . Kinsey has done that with Zawinul in the same way that Mike Brecker , Bob Berg , Branford Marsalis , Dave Leibman & many other did with Coltrane . It's lineage man !
He is advertantly trying to uphold the Zawinul legacy. Try to keep up!... I personally believe that no one can match the amazing Z genius, but I applaud the respect and effort.
I don't think he sounds anything like Zawinul, Kinsey's stuff is beyond Zawinul, so he sings with some effects, and some mutherfukin badd ass loops, and all of a sudden, he's cheap? That has no basis in reality. I've heard Kinsey live since the early 90's, I never thought at all He sounded like Zawinul, didn't even go through my mind, Kinsey's voicings, and phasing, and his almost infinite lines.... as far i'm concerned, Kinsey only sounds like Kinsey, theres probably not been a more original player since Jaco!!!! hahahahaha , I played the Jaco card.... all bass players do it....
I can't even begin to imagine the ultimate level of disagreement I have with your post... hahahhaha I think your post isn't based on true reality... Kinsey is Kinsey... he's been Kinsey probably before he went to Berklee.... but I never thought he was trying to uphold a legacy, that sounds absurd to me. He's seriously amazing, and has been for a long time. IMO
PURE MUSIC!

Truly great music.
Why Scott's music is so similar to Joe Zawinul's ?? it sounds cheap
