A Peace-Building Experience With Nature in the Amazon Forest

The Protected Areas & Peace program is a determined and joint commitment to this recovery of the territory with the help of rural communities and their economic development.
Thanks to this process, families have changed activities such as deforestation for the production of honey, cocoa oils, coffee, and ecological tourism.
Thus, well-being, livelihoods and peace have been improved in protected areas that have been seriously affected by armed conflict and deforestation, such as the Sierra de la Macarena, Tinigua, Cordillera de los Picachos, Sumapaz, Serranía del Chiribiquete and Alto Forge Indi Wasi.
Through this alliance between WWF Colombia, the National Natural Parks of Colombia, the Government of Germany, the International Climate Initiative (IKI), and the communities in the territories, we will continue to build this peace with nature to prosper together and safeguard life in all their forms.
