My first visit to Budapest was in 1998 for a family vacation. Just got back from my 2nd visit to Budapest and Szeged this past October. Absolutely love both cities and the country itself. Next visit will include a visit to Pecs. Hungry now has my heart.

Sorry, there are a lot of mistakes in the movie...In 1873 not only Pest and Buda but also Old Buda unified. We celebrated the conquest in 1896, not in 1895. The lions do have tongues on the Chain bridge.. etc

There are couple of subjectual errors in the explanation. First of all, Hungary hasn't been always ruled by other nations as you say. The Hungarian Kingdom itself was a leading regional power before the Ottoman occupation. Don't forget about the Magyarization efforts of the nationalistic Hungarian leadership between 1867 and 1918 either. Hungary was both a ruler and a victim during history. Regarding communism, please stop speaking about a Russian occupation! Hungary was not occupied buy Russia but by the Soviet Union which initially had a positive role by liberating Hungary from German nazism and Hungarian fascism (Arrow Cross movement). The Soviet Union consisted of several nations: Russians. Ukrainians, Kazakhs etc. It is not fair to blame only the Russians for everything. The English subtitles of the video contain several typos and even ridiculous errors. I guess, the text was created automatically by UA-cam. Otherwise, you put lots of work into this video. So I give you 8 points out of 10. Thank you!
