What happened to the water in Koh Rong Samoem? Its so dam murky and green. I was there 9 years ago. It was quiet and water was crystal clear. Looks like it turned to shit now.
Hi Sean! Not sure if you watched until I left KRS. When I arrived Saracen Bay look very different to any other day because of the stormy weather. The beach did look as you describe a few days later when the wind had died down. 😊
The water there depends on the season. During the windier time, the waves are more aggressive, so the water gets murky. But during other times, the water is nice and clear.
The courage you have to travel solo 😮…am Cambodian American…ex USAF pilot and wouldn’t dear travel there …maybe when I was younger. Beautiful narrative and brave woman :)
If someone only had 3 nights which island would you recommend? I'm leaning towards Koh Rong Sanloem, as it seems lazy beach/Saracen bay are easily accessible.

I was there at the end of October. I was South of Koh Rong on Long Set Beach. Got very lucky indeed!

Yes they are the easiest to access I believe, however there is more going on activity wise on the other island. Not that that’s really always a must.
That feeling of being stuck and unable to get any help, I felt it deeply, happened to me too when I arrived in Marocco some years ago. So stressful
