It's like Half-Life, Blue Shift and Op4 were put into a blender and mixed. And this is the result. Or like an AI was forced to analyze those 3 games and created its own game after that. But the mapper is very dedicated. Respect!
Yeah i thought the same. At some points i thought the mapper was lazy, but it all fits really well together. And bearing in mind, that many real architects would to the same, when building an whole sector in the BMRF, to fit to already existing parts, it gives more immersion. So it is okay for me. Not to forget that this is a mod, a project of a fan, to pleasure other fans of the hl universe, and for that i am simply thankfull.
These mods that explore more of the Black Mesa installation. Expansion of scenarios, clothes, characters, storylines, enemies etc. are wonderful. This is a great example, this is one of the best mods of Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Black Mesa too. I'll play this one too🤗💚💚💚💚

Bolloxed really, it was some show, I could barely hear the audio for this walk through my ears are still ringing for it and can't stop chanting master in my head
some plot points that dev of this mod might correct.... overall the mod is truly amazing... The forget about freeman sequence plays two times.. first duing bombing and again later on.... ideally forget about freeman should be later one.... Next when he's on tram ride the PA announcement system says about decathalon at 1900 hours.. however the part coinciing with timeline is on the next day ..... anyways this is a masterpiece

I just don't understand why every single half-life 1 mod has a five minute long tram ride at the beginning... It was only in the original game to show off the environmental and graphical capabilities of the GoldSource engine and is just annoying now, especially when replaying the game.
Still till this day this game will never die like other forgotten games from this era, no other game I know has been so coveted and been added to, it’s timeless.
I know this is old but, theres entire areas, fully finished levels with NPC interactions and stuff that are blocked off but you can access with no clip! Its like a huge water level with several giant rooms and sharks and puzzles. They definitely didnt do those in this video. it's the door he's looking at, at around 1:50.34
The only thing I've noticed that makes this mod any more difficult than normal Half-life is that all the hostile NPCs just have more health, enough to draw considerably more player resources into ensuring they die which puts a constraint on future engagements. Personally, giving the little guys more health is the least imaginative way to make a game harder.
I always wish FPS games would go back to what games like quake would do, where having harder difficulties meant more enemies to deal with, or even tougher types of enemies.
It's an okay mod, but it's mostly copied or slightly modified maps from the rest of the Half Life series. I hesitate to call a mod maker lazy but...there's a lot of mods out there that used genuinely original maps.
You know you should play on hard though. The thing is on hard difficulty there is more realism - like hit impulse of the dogs will kick you back so you have to be careful on small floating islands. Enemies will be less affected if you shoot them, soldiers will duck when u aim at them, zombies take more hits, etc.
Ik a lot of effort was put into this mod but i just hate for how long the alien railroad factory something theme was there was barely any music and you simply head to keep your distence from the enemy before the AI could barely target you and just stood there

The mod starts out interesting, but after 30 minutes of playing it turns into a banal and dull shooting gallery, it was hard for me to go through it because it is very boring. Many rooms and locations are repeated, there is little variety of enemies, very long puzzles and rooms with enemies, in fact, all I remember is a series of rooms with a bunch of identical monsters and soldiers, there is always not enough ammo. The mod is very tiring, the author just stretched it with old tricks, but it does not become more fun.
Have to agree 100% and the last xen levels are insanely bad (like take interlooper factory levels which are not that great in the og hl1 and make them 10x times worse,just why?) HECU and Black ops surviving headshots from a 357 or a crossbow on MEDIUM difficulty,why?

Ends up in total disaster which ends up with the entire facility being nuked, an invasion of alien races on earth and effectively killing the human population of the planet...Sounds about correct depiction of the our scientists attitude on Earth alright..

How do you install this mod? Every seemingly compatible zip I've found appears to be missing all the map files! I put them in the Half Life directory regardless, but as expected I start at the beginning of vanilla half life.

I played this mod years ago, and its great, adds more core story to Half-life itself.
Probably the best hl mod i've ever played. Mods like these keep good old games alive. I would pay for this.

Noticed that at least the male assassins had increased health when I couldn't one-hit them via a headshot on hard.
