indeed they did. but then again, there's a slight difference between "I'm one of the guys!" and "I work at a cooperative office to provide for my family, and dress well while I do so."
I genuinely feel so sad for girls like that, cause it’s all just internalised misogyny. It’s like they feel the need to present themselves as someone men will approve of instead of being able to be themselves. (Ofc there are women who don’t really like overly feminine aesthetics, but still support their friends who do!!) Ps. Being smart is ALWAYS cool and sexy hahaha
I'm so glad barbiecore is coming back. Women shouldn't battle one another just because of aesthetic and tastes; all women are queens, and no two are the same
Okay but I remembered queen of England Katherine Howard who was literally dressed up in pink and glitter in six the musical. She wasn’t smart at all (even had struggles to read because her family was very poor, and they needed to chose between new dress for ballroom or education and you know….16th century. Like the only music teacher for her what they afforded was pedephile.) but still, a queen. Even if most irrelevant among other wives of her husband……I know what she and Anne Boleyn were cousins and Anne grow up very rich, but cmon don’t you have poor and rich parr’s of family?
I mean Barbie walked so other girl bosses could run, she literally had hundreds of jobs while still taking care of her 3 sisters as she was the oldest, she owned her own fashion store, and she *still* somehow found time for herself and to hang out with her friends. Not to mention she lived in a giants dream house and had a horse, dog, and cat.
I think you totally nailed the idea behind why we are liking this style now. It almost feels rebellious to be super feminine even though there was once a time when dressing this way was the status quo and like the complete opposite of a rebellion. Its rebellious now though for the reasons you said, and it also functions as kind of a man repellent since so many of them now are like “ew thats too much makeup you’re clearly high maintenance and shallow i only like natural girls” and personally i like it because i LIKE that people underestimate me and my intelligence because of how i look, it makes it all the more satisfying when i prove them wrong and show them that being ultra feminine does not equal being vapid
I do makeup as a form of art. I mainly do it for myself and to show off. Because I like myself in makeup but I don't need to cover up too much because I couldn't care less personally. But if people expecially men start to think I'm high maintenance I'm going to laugh at them. I hardly ever style my hair, I can survive off of nothing for days because of my adhd and autism. As in I wear the same outfit, eat the same dish etc for days in a row and I wouldn't care. So I'm the entire opposite despite pulling up sometimes wearing bright pink and lilac makeup with white eyeliner on.

I grew up loving pink. But as I matured I realized how gross of a color it is to where. Don’t get me wrong it’s not a bad color a just don’t understand how someone would want to where it. I much prefer green or even better a neon purple. Or neon in general. Pink it just not a flattering color. Leave pink for nature ladies.
I'm enby but I think I went through half of both sides. Femininity was super expected in the area I grew up and I didn't like being girly, it made me genuinely uncomfortable and that caused me to push as far away from it as possible including pink. But nowadays, even if I'm still comfortably masculine, I like pink and some feminine things. They're not even my favourites (I adore green, sharks, and dinos most) I've accepted they speak nothing on my masculinity and I can like whatever I like without it being stripped away from me.
As a natural blonde, I used to be really insecure about my hair because I didn't want to be seen as stupid or called Barbie, so I'm glad the Barbie look is seen as more positive now :)
natural blonde here too!! i used to get bullied a lot growing up for being a dumb blonde so a part of me gravitated towards boyish things to prove everyone wrong. Now i'm experimenting more and it feels wonderful to finally feel comfortable in my femininity!

Women who take pride in their appearance are actual goddesses. Not only are you smart and capable, but you ALSO put time into your style? Next level right there.
I personally LOVE feminine and girly clothing such as puff sleeves, puffs, ruffles, pearls, big diamond earrings, nail polish, spa days, Princess core dresses, Victorian lady outfits ect. I think the “I’m not like other girls” thing is getting tiring I never rlly got into the “clean girl” aesthetic or the “tomboy” I was always girly but love u ange
I love how Barbie is known for loving pink and being femiene but is the literal definition of feminism, since Barbie was created in 1959, aka after the war had ended and women were expected to go back to being housewives after working the jobs the men would normally work before they went off to war, but then in came Barbie, wearing a black and white "skimpy" swimsuit, telling young girls you dont need a man and that women in the workplace are now a permanent thing, which shows that you can be anyone and still be a feminist and fight for women's rights, love you Barbie!
I totally understand. When i was little i started to aspire to be the "tomboy" character. I thought it made me different, which i linked with superiority. It wasn’t just girly things. Id refuse to watch popular cartoons and other media just because i thought not liking what every body else liked made me better than them. Now i hope im a better person than that. I don’t want to look down on other people anymore, just because something they like is well beloved. I want to let myself enjoy things without worrying about whether it's mainstream

I never got why they said Barbie was dumb or taught girls to be “bimbos” she was a literal doctor, veterinarian, astronaut! And so much more like??? So smart and loves fashion!? Best of both worlds just like my beautiful fiancé she’s my beauty Barbie girl and one hell of a genius
The only reason why I ever hated barbie, honestly, was that everyone just immediately assumed that since I'm AFAB I must absolutely love her, love everything pink, love everything sparkly and girly. It wasn't even about smarts vs looks, it was "you're a girl and girls must like pink so you must like barbie". It left a very sour taste in my mouth and basically became THE icon, within my personal life, of only being perceived as what my genitals say rather than what I am as a person. Also, for context, I'm trans
@@middleeasternforhire8985 AFAB stands for Assigned Female At Birth, AMAB is Assigned Male At Birth, it's basically what you were born as and is mostly used by transgender people if their gender doesn't fit how they were born. Hope this explains it, sorry if your comment was a joke.
Same here, I've slowly seperated certain things from the forced femininity but, even if I've stopped hating her I'll never like Barbie, she's the route and staple of what so many people wished I could be. Most of these issues come from my own experience as a trans/enby person but also some other things that Barbie (e.g being darker skinned, being a 'former gifted child', being a bit overweight) always showed I was less for.
@@hihilt2589 yea, I've seen a lot more variety in Barbie recently but the dolls all follow basically the same body type and could definitely still be expanded, like I've only really seen 2-4 different skin colours/patterns (Barbie white, a slightly different pale completion, black, and a doll with vitiligo) despite frequenting local toy stores. I have representation for a decent bit of who I am but I hope they continue getting a more diverse cast of dolls and becoming a realistic brand that represents more people and promotes being yourself.
Omg yes!!!! When I was a baby even, my favorite color was pink, and I would cry whenever my mom put me in anything other than pink clothing. But then in my early teens, something switched, and all of a sudden if you liked pink, you were lame, and if you dressed like a girly girl, then you were either a “slut” or “stupid.” So I pushed away from anything super femme and started dressing goth… I still love Goth styles and still think that it’s beautiful, in its own way, but I’m a Barbie girl at heart and always have been… so I embrace it now, and say screw what others think. Cause it makes ME happy, to be femme

@@J4CKS0N_D34R3ST that sounds like a very mature and healthy mindset :)
Cool doodle bob tattoo
As a natural blonde, I used to be really insecure about my hair because I didn't want to be seen as stupid or called Barbie, so I'm glad the Barbie look is seen as more positive now :)
natural blonde here too!! i used to get bullied a lot growing up for being a dumb blonde so a part of me gravitated towards boyish things to prove everyone wrong. Now i'm experimenting more and it feels wonderful to finally feel comfortable in my femininity!
SAME OML
Okay you slay, but also loving the doodlebob tattoo 😂🩷
I have prom soon, so I was thinking of combining my femininity and my slight tomboyish aesthetic. I was thinking of a pink glittery three piece suit but I haven’t been able to find them anywhere 😅
Monster high core?!
Wednesday addams meats barbie?
These are good ideas if you ask me
Also reminds me of my cousins wedding when I also wanted a suit but they wouldn't look good on me im short and I have short hair and dresses wouldn't look good on me either so I bought a jumpsuit it had glittery gold top and white bottom and it made me look taller try this if you wanna
Bro u need to do cutecore!!!!! It is literally in my opinion one of the cutest and my favorite Style or aesthetic
Women who take pride in their appearance are actual goddesses. Not only are you smart and capable, but you ALSO put time into your style? Next level right there.
If you ever feel like giving up remember…Barbie survived the glitter shortage - some random person on Pinterest
Barbie once defeated a haunted suit of armor by bludgeoning it with a mace. She was wearing a pink dress.
I love all these outfits! 💕 You look great! Barbie was always PINK, PINK, PINK.
I love how Barbie is known for loving pink and being femiene but is the literal definition of feminism, since Barbie was created in 1959, aka after the war had ended and women were expected to go back to being housewives after working the jobs the men would normally work before they went off to war, but then in came Barbie, wearing a black and white "skimpy" swimsuit, telling young girls you dont need a man and that women in the workplace are now a permanent thing, which shows that you can be anyone and still be a feminist and fight for women's rights, love you Barbie!
the spongebob tattoo is the reason for my existence
Barbie has done EVERY career
When people call me barbie I say "ty because shes smarter and way more talented then you could ever be"
I totally understand.
In most the series and movies Barbie had like 40 proffesions. Like a doctor, lawyer, president, vet, astronaut, and I could just keep on counting
THE SCRIBBLEBOB TATTOO IS AMAZINGGGGGG!!
OMG that bit about rebelling against "nOt LiKe tHe OthEr gIRLs" it's exactly why I am a gyaru!

@@angemariano97 I’m sorry I’m gonna sound like a really under age kids rn- but i don’t have tiktok 😅 I guess it’s “against my parents rules“ (sorry it took me so long to reply. I’m working on an Etsy account!)
I love pink
People forgot barbie was literally an ASTRONAUT like she's not a dumb blonde my guy 😭😭
As someone that is very non Barbie, esthetically, I love it. Wear whatever tf makes you feel like you can conquer the world. Witchy shit like me, tons of pink, plate mail...what makes you feel good/strong/pretty/happy/ect.
Ngl, us ladies HIGH KEY did it to ourselves first, wanting to be "the strong ones" it's like we demonized ❤femininity❤ slandering it as "weak" for a long time, then _some_ guys played along not liking girly girls anymore bc they were then considered "lame" and then multiple generations just followed suit. It's sad really, our 💜femininity🏌🏾♀️ is a 🎉God 🎉given 🎉Essence 🎉, a glorious thing of you will, and the fact that we associated it with weakness to be more like "one of the guys" was just _tragic_ 😔
CHRISSY CHLAPECKA SUPREMACY!!!!
Be a barbie one day and a tomboy the next... Best of both worlds.
Be true to yourself and never let yourself fall into just one box!
Second. OMG I'm early. Love your videos ❤ Could you maybe do Marilyn Monroe?
Two teddy bears for you!!!🧸 🧸and love this idea!! Adding her to my style icon to do list :)
do dreamcore next
Hey! you probably won’t see this but can you do wierdcore or dark academia?
i was honestly just WAITING for the legally blonde reference lol, love to see it
The only reason why I ever hated barbie, honestly, was that everyone just immediately assumed that since I'm AFAB I must absolutely love her, love everything pink, love everything sparkly and girly.
Afab? What does it mean? All fabulous?
@@J4CKS0N_D34R3ST oh yeah, that's also definitely a part of it. It's only recently that Barbie has started to be more inclusive...
That last line was beautiful 😌💅🏼✨
I love the janky movements imitating a doll 😂
The doodle-bob tattoo is everything I need in life
i hate the trope of "pink, girly, feminine, pretty= stupid"
like... its literally just style🤦
BARBIE CORE IS BACK BABY🎉
How to master my little pony Equestria girls aesthetic? :3
Can you to cottagecore?
I love your vids!
Maturing is realizing that it's not Barbie that's cringe, it's the people who make harmful stereotypes that being like Barbie is bad are.
This has always been my aesthetic! I already own everything you listed! 😂💅🎀👛👙👠💄💋💗
Y2K or cottage core

Do grunge aestethic plsssssssssssss
You can still be smart talented and accomplished, and not be reduced down to your looks ❤️❤️
Omg u look like barbie
I love that "nude-colored" top you had when you did the lipstick pose
elle woods is literally if barbie was a person. Smart and intelligent and LOVES pink and really girly things
like some girls are like the other girls and it’s not a bad thing because it slays 🤩
Can you do hunger games aesthetic???? Pls it would make my day
Cause it makes ME happy, to be femme
i just got a 50s barbie cosplay, super excited for it
idk the "not like other girls" kinda hit home because when I was a little younger everyones favorite color was teal, turquoise, blue yk and if u liked pink it was kinda like oh... but now I like pink and it isn't weird
Is no one going to talk abt how she looks so much like Margot Robbie
I love your doodle bob tatto sm 🫶😭
Loving pink doesn’t make you dumb! 💖💖💖
I’m so happy she mentioned NOTHING about have a Barbie body. I’m so insecure about things like that💗💗
