Ehtëk (Unknown) - Íncst - 2024 full length

- The third record, and debuting album, of this mysterious act.
This record marks a notable shift from their previous work, venturing into a unique sonic tapestry that blends elements of atmospheric black metal, post-rock, and even death metal, with a touch of dungeon synth and ambient for good measure.
Fans of Trhä might find themselves drawn to Ehtëk due to similarities in artwork or perhaps a hint of that band's flair in Ehtëk's music. However, Ehtëk carves its own path. While the blackened shrieks and hardcore-esque vocals harken back to black metal's roots, Íncst leans heavily on synthesisers, creating a more atmospheric experience compared to Trhä's raw aggression.
Ehtëk's true strength lies in its ability to blend genres. This album even goes a bit further than before, integrating death metal and the melancholic beauty of post-rock, reaching moments of near-progressive complexity within these seemingly disparate styles. This experimentation with the fringes of black metal, venturing into the realm of outer metal aesthetics, elevates “Íncst” as the transitions between the genres feel natural and purposeful, avoiding any awkward shifts in mood or tempo.
In conclusion, “Íncst” is a compelling exploration of the fringes of black metal, incorporating many styles of metal and outside of it, creating a unique and captivating listening experience.
A wonderful black metal manifesto in colours.

Every Ehtëk release is getting better. Especially love the second track and the Country/Folk passage in the fourth track.
The best Post-Black I have heard in a while.
Than you so much for sharing this gem.
MUCH LOVE : )
Oh I can talk about a handful of cool recent projects that fit in that category such as Sichel, Morton, Ethereal Sand, Kólga, Alumir, Midoran, Oxalaia, Daedalia, Saint Heaven, Haprefleur, Herfstdood, Sirens of the Horizon, Elegy, Aeri Satur. All of them with lovely output, different from this one, but still filling the post-black gap.
Cheers :)
@Mao Thanks for the suggestions.
I will get to them.
Herfstdood is one of my favourites...
CHEERS mate : )
@@eightieslover Sorry for the spam xD
@Mao You will probably enjoy the latest
Parfaxitas release.
The world they create is absolutely magical...
For some odd reason they are not
on Metal Archives.
@@eightieslover Probably too much post ehehe
Their method isn't always as consistent as it should be.
I saved it, I will try to not forget to tell you how much I liked ehehe
Thank you :)
fantastic album. at first I expected something way more abstract & ambient, and then it hit me really hard & pleasantly. thank you for this discovery
That cover at the end shows exactly where Ehtëk’s artistic sensibilities lie…
This album is so good it’s actually hard to believe. Usually worship doesn’t reach this level of quality. One of the best albums of the year imo
me: I want more trhä releases
mom: we got trhä at home
trhä at home:

Jokes aside, seems they are having a lot of fun composing this, so that's what matters.
Also, I get how Trhä left such a mark in the current state of things, (it left it on me as well) so acts like these are inevitable and contribute to the artist's (in this case Ehtëk's) discovery of their own expression. No one truly invents anything, we tend to be a product of what we experience and so we just find ways of interpreting these experiences in our own way, and that's fine.
I can also promise you this is not Damian, but still a fun listen!
Godspeed to you Ehtëk
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Don't tell me this is a homemade production xD
I feel like whoever is behind this, they must have more credits to their name because the songwriting and general composition is just too good to be someone’s first attempt at music
do you think they like trha
He clearly forgot a letter in album title. Easy to miss one with an alphabet like that...
No blasphemous content allowed xD
Мощность
Ахуєнно!
Ще й кавер на трек про Пса Патрона їбанув! Респек!😎💥
disgusting how much he ripped of thras shit, I really hope they are close friends or something because its fucked up.
I don't see it like that.
I think you can approach this on two angles, one which is plain lack of originality and copying Trhä's (which I think it's becoming more distant from that to be honest) and the other angle which is a fan of Trhä that made this and is using this as a way to honour Trhä output.
Either way, we as fans, get more material which is great anyway ahahaha
I mean yeah, Im not opposed to worship bands, and I doubt the guy did it with malicious intent considering its completely obvious where he got the aesthetic from. But still, I think there are more creative ways to do worship or honor another artist who inspired you. Specially since thras been a project for less than 4 years and his aesthetic was a breath of idiosyncrasy within black metal.
I personally think that Ehtëk uses quite a lot of own ideas such as the middle part of the fourth track and the riffs are also pretty good, so it’s alright.
You can’t pay tribute to a current artist. You are biting, and it is weak.
The best person to comment on that might be Damian, although all of our ideas seem valid as they come from the love for this genre.
As for myself, I don't care much whatever the reasons behind it as long as the music is great.
This sounds exactly like Trhä‘s Vat Gëlénva!! I mean I’m happy about more content I like but it’s an absolute ripoff. Even the logo is almost blatantly copied.
It’s one of my most listened albums since it came out. So I’m rather certain some heavy influencing took place. The lil bits of originality sprinkled in are great though.
yuck I hate it
