'Aperitif e.p' [2018]
Hallca (Haruka Tominaga) is one of the founding members of Jpop Idol group Especia and remained in it up until their disbandment. Especia was unique in that it took heavy visual inspiration from the vaporwave microgenre and combined it with idol-style vocal arrangement amidst a city-pop backdrop. Following Especia's disbandment it seems like Hallca took up the mantle and continues on as a solo artist, working frequently alongside Especia's producer, Pellycolo while still retaining Especia's vaporwave/city pop style.
I personally prefer her as a solo artist than in a group as listening to this style of music under Especia, which had five different members at one point, often felt incohesive and jarring at times.
