I love that I chose to watch this while getting ready for our field trip! 🤩 I can’t imagine 2 in one week - I’d be exhausted! I’m sure the kiddos had a blast
Hi Katie, I don't whether you'd relate to this. But I am able to think clearly when I share my thoughts with others. While watching your video I realised that your presentation might help you recognise how you can do better. Lots of reflection and feedback attached to this UA-cam video!! I am encouraged to share my teaching-life like you do after watching your video.
So much fun this week! We have field trips coming up in the end of May / early June, and I cannot wait! It is so interesting how curriculums are set up differently. We did time and elapsed time at the beginning of the school year. I wish we had it later in the year, mostly because I don’t find it to be the most valuable unit in third grade lol.
Where are you guys going for your trip? It is always interesting to hear how pacing is different! I found the skill to be quite useful. As a teacher I am CONSTANTLY doing elapsed time problems in my head 😂 Doing it at the end of the year had its pros and cons
I use the same slide every morning that has their morning routine, homework and the date. I show the slide set in this video: ua-cam.com/video/J-wgQ-sKoes/v-deo.html
Wow 2 field trips in 1 week. Way to go. Didn’t realize how late your class has lunch. Do the students get a snack before hand seems so late in the day. Especially as 3rd graders. Hope you’re having a relaxing weekend.

Thanks, Katie, for sharing your FULL school week!
Thanks for watching!! 😊
I teach 3rd in Alabama and moved from 1st after 2 years. Time was a huge jump for me. Mine struggled so badly with elapsed time questions!
The number line strategy definitely worked the best for us!
Silence is full of answers.
I love these videos! What do you do for your morning slide?
