Absolutely is. Loving the recruiting strategy of getting back into Kansas City, improving the Florida recruiting while already having a foothold in Texas to an extent
I"m good with the hire, but I am wondering why NU seems to be hiring mostly coaches who know Florida/SE US recruiting, when Rhule coached in Texas and Texas kids are so much closer to Lincoln than the FLA kids. I don't understand why we don't put more roots and emphasis in Texas recruiting as it seems we put more emphasis in Florida. Any insights on this POV Justin?
We have guys on the staff with a foothold in Texas, Rhule being a big part of that, but in other roles as well. So the first couple of classes there was a heavy push in Texas, now they are building in Florida and back in the KC area to get a foothold in those as well!
"Pinning the wrist" DOES benefit a less athletic defender, or in those times when every d-back somehow gets a step behind. If a fella is on top of his receiver though, I ALWAYS wanna see "Look and Lean" purely for the interception opportunities .... I WANT THOSE PICKS, YO!
I agree on the turnovers part for sure, but he has proven with his defenses that he can still force turnovers with scheme and DBs with ball skills! For the most part it's more effective in terms of efficiency, which helps stall drives and put offenses behind schedule. Definitely pros and cons to both and both can be effective is used properly !
@@NebraskaVOCFB Couldn't agree more; Williams' turnover record speaks for itself. We gotta keep getting taller, faster, smarter DBs that aren't "covering for their lives" and instead get to make a play on the ball .... I'm excited to see Williams' secondary.
Good hire all around with a solid resume' and connections with high school coaches in the state of Florida which should help in recruiting. Good stuff! Thank for sharing with us.
@@NebraskaVOCFBgotta say man I like your reporting. I take it at face value and issue you have credible sources. You are not an alarmist yet I think you provide good perspective in positive fashion. Plus you have a radio voice , i listen to while driving or relaxing before bed. Keep it up man, thanks for your hard work.
@@map69361 Man I can't tell you how much I appreciate that. Thank you 🙏 I do have credible sources but I mainly really like talking ball and stuff like this more than the "Breaking News" style of video or constant speculation. I always give my honest opinions too, If I don't agree with something or a hire, I will state it, so I appreciate that people recognize that and buy into me as well. I have been told about the "Radio Voice" a lot too, I am happy people find it easy to listen to! Again, I appreciate you man and thank you for supporting! 🙏
Thank you that means a lot, I know some people weren't happy with the direction of the channel, I am happy I was able to bring some of the old viewers back and give everyone something they can appreciate. Couldn't do it without y'alls support. 🙏
They have made some excellent decisions on the assistants on this defense. Anyone underwhelmed by the Butler hire should focus more on these assistants because they are nailing it
Gus Malzahn hired a "Co-Defensive Coordinator" who was fired mid-season. Terrible decision to do that and they had 7 new defensive starters on top of that.

And he grew up in Atlanta. Always good to have coaches recruiting all up and down the east coast well.

Thoughtful and intelligent analysis. Good work,
Thank you for supporting and really appreciate the kind words!
As long as they improve. Just improve. Can’t have qb’s like Wisconsin’s Locke completing bombs against us. That was absolutely ridiculous.
Another great show, brother!
Appreciate y'all supporting fr, thank you 🙏
I knew Matt would handle things in the right way. ❤ GBR TTB

I think this hire is going to work

Comes here from the 2-time World Champ....
Not too shabby!
Still holding out hope that Bill Busch is on the coaching staff next year.
Nebraska is just a speed bump on the resume.
Every team is a speed bump to a new opportunity 😂
@@DionPryor396 unfortunately that is the way it is.
Are these new coaches going to be around for the bowl game and teaching anything new?
They are allowed to coach in Bowl Games, and I am almost certain they are getting to work immediately in recruiting and ultimately the bowl game!
What was the reason for the huge drop off in 2024?
Gus Malzahn hired a "Co-Defensive Coordinator" who was fired mid-season. Terrible decision to do that and they had 7 new defensive starters on top of that.
Nebraska is supposed to higher top tier coaches Nebraska's top tier program they must keep doing the same with their players too
Naming Addison Williams as a top tier DB coach is a huge leap at best!! WTF?
Well we all have our opinions now don't we Tim. 🤷♂️
Shit Tim were tryin to win the offseason natty here, can you get on board
@@tyhansen6016I would venture to guess he wouldn't come onto the show and debate me on this 🤷♂️
Who cares what he did in the B12 what can or has he done in the B10?
Oh god, you're one of those..
@@NebraskaVOCFB Justin there are some fans i can't believe are still fans since they obviously do not get any enjoyment out of it. 😂😂😂
hahaha what about what he did in other conferences too? Are we only allowed to recruit coaches from the B1G?
