Everything about our new technological era is teaching us to do more with less, and at a reduced cost. Digitization and automation are steadily eating at the foundation of the capitalist system. Labor is now adverse to productivity and efficiency in our digitally enabled reality. The 1st industrial revolution created our current reality. The arrival of the digital autonomous era is already rendering it obsolete. The effects are everywhere in our society today. You just need to understand what you are looking at.

your failures is likely due to the narrower nozzle and requirement to heat a filiment instead of just dumping cold cement, and requirement for finer precision. These 3d printed homes can have a lot more error and inaccuracy as the excess will just be removed. And structural support does not have to be uniform. Just in near enough the same pattern and places. No need for high accuracy.

      Good morning Idiot! Alex here.
Can you tell me - How exactly (why?) capitalism offers an economic incentive for innovation and socialism does not? I understand those words are not yours, since you have no explanation. Please explain the reasoning behind those lousy words. (I'm rather interested in the latter part of the question.)
Real estate is a housing market. Sellers are selling houses, based (in an ideal world) on their ability to undercut other people offers and gain profits. Period.
If you can build a house cheaper - you will either sell it cheaper; gain higher profits, or have middle-ground between two options. Period.
Please use your own reasoning when going to write e an answer.

@@AlexMetslov Capitilism with competition encourages innovation because companies need to create better products in order to get a larger market share and make more money. Also consumers will purchase the best product for the best price resulting in a direct incentive to innovate and improve products or invent new ones. This creates a meritocracy. In a socialist system the government owns the means of production and so there is only one possible group to get your products from. The only incentive for innovation would be that citizens are more likely to elect you if you the government is improving the products that it offers. However, the incentive is not strong because the voters are voting on a million different issues not just how good are the iphone cameras going to be next year. Also, voters are forced to make the subjective decision to decide which representative will innovate better and more efficiently. Its much harder to decide if trump or biden will create more innovation over the next four years, then to just allow everyone to try to make the best possible product and whoever makes the best product will win the sales and get to continue doing what they are doing. The feedback loop in socialism is indirect and slow and the feedback loop in capitilism is fast and direct.
In terms of these houses, if you create one cheap house you will probobly just sell it at market price. However, if the market is flooded with cheap housing from a number of different companies, house buyers will buy the cheapest house and housing prices will go down. Or consumers will spend the same amount of money but buy the nicest/biggest/coolest house. Making nicer bigger cooler houses will cut into profit margins. No company can sustain ridiculously high profit margins unless they have a monopoly because a competitor will just offer the same thing for cheaper and win all the market share.

    • @AlexMetslov
      @AlexMetslov 2 роки тому +4

      @@johndoe-iu4ms Cool.
But the same problem (Lack of innovations and competitions) is guaranteed outcome in capitalism. You might be delusional that every company will have equal opportunities, but in reality there is no need to innovate if you own everything. You just crank prices up and rest of the people struggle to meet ends. (Can you please stop this capitalist = inventions and market?)
Also, you completely ignore that socialism will drive be driven by effectiveness. If your country wants to survive, it need to be as effective as possible. As such, there will be thrown tonnes of money into researd and development. (China as example).
Of course there is no pure socialist of capitalist country.
Capitalist will drive prices up to unaffordable state, when people will have no food, health and education, because of profit (like USA, for example).

$300,000 is a gross overestimation of the cost to build a house, unless you are including the land cost. Even here in Canada, according to my research, the price would generally be about $200,000 for a three-bedroom house of modest size, and things are always cheaper in the United States than they are here. On another site describing these 3D printed homes, it was stated that small homes for the homeless could be built for around $10,000 each.

I'm seeing an aweful lot missing from these homes. Ductwork for ventilation, the furnace, electrical components like meters and such to indicate the work was done in the home, to name a few things. To add onto this, flat roofs might work in places that don't have heavy snow or rain but in those regions that do, curved roofs are a must. What about foundation repair as it ages? It's not uncommon here in the midwest to have a need to replace or at least do a good fixing of your foundation after 25-30 years in higher elevation areas and about 1/2 that time in lower (think marshland) homes. If a 3D Printed home with a printing mechanism to do all of these repairs without your intervention would really grab my attention. Purchasing a home is one of the main driving forces for why many 1st world (thinking European + American) folks in the commonwealth are in the hole with debt. While it's not an official metric of the economy, it's certainly a big indicator if folk's lives are either flourishing or diminishing if that makes any sense. I'm hopeful that this technology with grow to be a very common practice in house fabrication, but it's no where near there yet. Unless I see some experts really hammer down from various trades pointing out the benefits and consequences for living in a home of this make vses traditional housing (with tips to improve it would be awesome! The last time I lived in a flat roofed trailer, I was a little kid but I remembered the roof kept leaking and my dad just kept trying to put tar on it. I have to admit my current trailer roof is weirdly shaped with the kitchen end having a taller roof than the end where my bedroom and bathroom is. I like the thought of growing pet friendly plants on my roof but for now, I'm too broke to do a whole lot to change my life. I'm hoping investing with Stash will help me a little and hopefully allow me to buy a computer for a job I want to try online.

If I wanted a concrete house I'd use polystyrene construction forms and have the house poured. But concrete is not a good material for an earthquake zone. Whereas wood frame buildings will sway in an earthquake, concrete just breaks up.

This was informative and helpful. I'm interested in living in a 3D printed home, so I hope you'll keep delivering videos related to this topic. I'd like to see a video that covers if, when, and how to get a home 3D printed in your US state (i.e. where you live).

there is nothing environmentally friendly about a massive electrically powered 3d printer building a house as opposed to food powered people doing it. that seems obvious. This doesn't solve any problem other than being able to fire construction workers.

How do they add utilities to a 3Dp house if it's all cement? How do they remodel or add-on to one in the future? How do they keep all those flat roofs from rotting or degrading? Will any of these designs work in areas with earthquakes or tornadoes? And I can only imagine they will focus on plastering/smoothing out the interior walls after the fact as the ribbed wall would cause problems for a lot of devices and furniture.

Wait! I want to question the statement about the 1,400 sq ft house for $300,000 being half the cost for the area. At the presumed $600,000 for a standard house, that would be an extremely high-cost area--prime New York or San Francisco maybe. Tell me what the standup cost for that 1,400' house would be without the lot cost included in Kansas City or Indianapolis or Atlanta in a typical neighborhood.

First 3-D printed house in the US? I swear there was already a company doing this for people a number of years ago. I recall most of the designs being circular. Regardless, I love the concept of 3-D printed houses; I feel like there's a lot more flexibility in design. As a consumer, the reduced cost would be great for me, but I worry about the impact it would have on human construction workers.

And even more people are out of already shrinking jobs. At a certain point these things really need to be considered. I’m not saying that we should stall innovation because people will lose work, but construction is one of the LAST higher paying work for people with less than a 4 year degree. This only makes things worse, in my opinion.

3D printing is still used for single family homes mostly short one floor houses. They will really become economic and environment friendly when the 3d printing is used for mass production of apartment buildings which use less material, energy and land to make more homes for more people and families.
