SYU is a legendary guitarist and Galneryus is one of the best metal bands in Japan. I recommend checking out their other songs Angel of Salvation (Live version, or the MV version if the live is too long) and Force of Courage (Live version).
Ayy. Did the thing. Galneryus is great straight power metal. They always go super hard even live. Not too many reactions to their videos though, most likely because all their songs swing towards the longer side (for example, their live version of Angel of Salvation which makes use of a live orchestra, comes in at 18 minutes long). I mentioned this in my comment, but the drummer from Unlucky Morpheus, FUMIYA, actually replaced their previous drummer (the one in this video), and was their drummer up until earlier this year. Their former bassist is also one of BABYMETAL's Kami Band members as one of their guitarists, LEDA (performing by the name Yu-To with Galneryus). Galneryus' lead vocalist SHO, is reported to have a 3 to 4 octave vocal range, and he previously had a solo career before joining the band (Max, you'll be happy to know that one of his solo singles is the song "Departure!", which is the first opening song of Hunter X Hunter, and knowing that will make you instantly recognize his voice). There's a video of him performing it live with Galneryus should you ever want to check it out (watch?v=hLYY9xBbIZA)
@@TacticalHamburger Actually no. I hit him with some One Punch Man "The Hero!!", Chrono Trigger "Frog's Theme", & Castlevania "Bloody Tears". I'm saving "Hunting For Your Dream" for a requested video. I stayed away from anything I would request for reaction videos.
Usually Masotoshi Ono (also goes by Sho for short) handles the majority of the vocals with Syu (God on guitar) & Yuhki (keyboards) doing backing vocals. Taka is a beast on the bass, & Jun-ichi is a monster on the drums. Jun-ichi left a few years back & was replaced with Fumiya (drummer from Unlucky Morpheus) on their last two albums, but he just left after their last tour ended with all the lockdowns. It is hard to find a better band than Galneryus talent wise from top to bottom. These guys are like Dream Theater playing at Dragonforce's speed, swinging between power metal to progressive metal to neo-classical, & Syu is the creative genius behind all of it. Funny thing is that Syu originally wanted to be a drummer, but then he saw Yoshiki from X Japan on drums & didn't think he'd ever be that good at it. Ended up being the best decision he ever made.
Prefer the old Galneryus, more of their original sounding. Back then they are more like Dream Theater/Stratovarius/Symphony X/Sonata Arctica ( Yama-B era ), new Galneryus more like straight Dragonforce-ish sounding, all just about speed. Plus their newer record mostly fill with filler track, not really a fans of their newer stuff. Kind of disappointed with ‘ Vetelgyus ‘ & ‘ Into The Purgatory ‘, definitely less rated album for sure. 😅

I don’t know why people always recommend their newer stuff, not really their best compositions to be honest. 😂 React to their old singer era pls, Yama-B. Their old record are much more compact and heavier like cross-over between Dream Theater/Stratovarius/Symphony X ! Try Silent Revelation or New Legend. 🤘
