Nice one - not their first show outside of Japan, but it was their first major event outside of Asia and the biggest crowd they had played to at that time ... and probably 95%+ of the crowd didn't have a clue who or what BABYMETAL were or what they were about to witness.
They had about 25 minutes, just 5 songs, to win the crowd over - IDZ was the last song of the set and you could hear the crowd calling for "One more song" at the end ... so they succeeded.

Yep, the full fancams show the crowd still making up their minds and by IDZ, they decided BM were for real and not just a gimmick.

    _Kitsune tobe!_ 🦊🤘🙅‍♂️
This was the moment 60k UK crowd felt in love with BM, they called it "the miracle of Sonisphere", so sad the organizers won't do this festival anymore due to financial troubles.
I suggest you a little pause in your journey and enjoy a new super collab:

Babymetal Karate was the WWE: NXT TakeOver The End Official Theme Song in 2016
Babymetal had their biggest tour ever least year - 94 shows in a year. In part because in other years they were still in school so they couldn't do as many shows. These kids got to do homework backstage at festivals, etc.
At this show/time, the 2 smallest girls had written a song 2 years before this show.
Babymetal has like 20 top 5 songs 🙂 And a different list for every fan.

Really enjoyable reaction. This was the concert that the UK became the home away from home for Babymetal. They were not widely known outside of Japan at this time and basically got bumped to the main stage somewhat last minute. English festival crowds in particular can be cranky. The gals really didn't know what to expect but troopers that they are they went out and gave 100%. By the end the crowd loved them. Babymetal do not write their own songs but are the superstar performers of their management group Amuse. That said the popularity and devotion Babymetal has earned over the years is the reward of their hard work, skill as performers and amazing charisma. Oh and they were 16,14 &14 at this time. Every time I see this performance I pretty much wilt at the thought of going out in front of a crowd of 60k. Oh and the "friendly mosh pits tend to be in Japan. From what I can see here it looks pretty much like your standard western, mosh. For a kick-ass recent performance where Su is 26, Moa is 24 and Momo is 20 I'd recommend Road of Resistance Live PIA Arena, 2023 (link follows): ua-cam.com/video/XpGRYhY897E/v-deo.html

    ⚡ 💀 💕 / 🚫
This was not their first show outside of Japan.
They had already been to Singapore and Indonesia.
Before this festival appearance they had headlining shows in Paris and Cologne, Germany.
You’re a little off on their ages.
At this Sonisphere show Yui and Moa were 15 years old and Su was 16.
Moa had just turned 15 the day before (July 4th, 2014).
Also, they weren’t moved onto one of the main stages at the last minute.
That was decided months before, when their first album dropped, and their song ‘Gimme Chocolate!!’ went viral.

Hell yeah guys! This was an iconic and historical moment for Babymetal. 1st major international show on the main stage of an established metal festival.
Turned a crowd of 50K confused metal heads, most of whom never heard of them before.
They were 16/15 at that time, and not related.
Also, fun fact, since you mentioned wrestling: WWE NXT Takeover event in 2016 used Babymetal’s song Karate as a theme song.
A good recent Babymetal guide up to Apr 2024:

BM toured most of last year through the US, Europe, and a few big shows in Japan. This year, they're playing just a few shows along with some big festivals in Vegas and Europe.
Some fun songs to listen to would be Kingslayer(their collab with Bring Me the Horizon), Road of Resistance, Monochrome, Metali, BMC. Live performances, their energy levels up in person vs on their albums/official music videos.

Sonisphere 2014 was one of the most important performances of Babymetal's career. It was their first big metal festival in the west and their first chance to really show what they could do on a live stage in front of western fans. This event was only weeks after the music video of Gimme Chocolate had gone viral, leading to them getting moved to the main stage rather than the smaller side stage they were originally scheduled to perform on. At this performance Su-metal was 16, Yui was 14, and Moa had just turned 15.
Babymetal's songwriting is overseen by their producer Kobametal, who shapes the overall direction of the music and occasionally contributes to writing songs, and there is a small team of song writers that write for them. Su-metal had written the lyrics for the song "Shingeki - Divine Attack", and Yui and Moa wrote the song "4 No Uta" (Song 4), while on the tour bus.
If you want to watch a guide on the history of Babymetal, a very good new one called "The Not So Extensive Guide to Babymetal" was posted just recently by A Fox Song - ua-cam.com/video/aIb2xEthdSg/v-deo.html
Regarding going to school, they actually did have to time their tours around school, and often had to study while on tour.
Babymetal consider the UK to be their second home because so many big moments in their career have happened there and because the UK fans have always welcomed them so warmly and supported them so much.

If you notice Yui's dress has a streamer because she caught it on her spiked wristband. Also, sadly, the left side "little guitar god" Mikio was killed in an accident not long after this show. Aaannd, Yui left, dang it but was later replaced by ex-Avenger Momoko. Lots of great past, present and, I'm sure, future Babymetal adventures. Just dive down the Foxhole and see. Like your react.

babymetal=no bloody mosh pits!! no ape/caveman behavior😜...but...At this point the girls were already experienced entertainers. For example, Su-Metal was born in 1997. She was already seen in television commercials when she was four years old in 2002. 2006 acting school. 2008 the group 'KarenGirl's' 2009 in a musical on stage. In 2009/10 she was an exclusive model for a girls' magazine.2010 Idol pop group 'Sakura Gakuin'. one of several subgroups was 'Babymetal' which remained because of their success. all babymetal have a similar career path. In 2014, these girls had already been professionals for a long time.

I don't speak Japanese so I may be way off on this. My observation is that when Japanese is written out in Romaji or Romanized, the vowel sounds are always pronounced this same way. A is aah like a doctor is examining your throat. E is eh like in the word bet. I is eee like in the word see. O is oh like in the word so. U is ooo like in the word boo or is sometimes dropped and not pronounced at all. This song is eee-jee-meh dah-meh zeh-tah-eee
