I know this might sound rude, but it feels so good to see other students struggling on technicals. It feels good knowing I’m not the only one that didn’t grasp them immediately. I’m sure he prepped hard af after this and came back and killed it!
@@stevenlovewendy Haha just stick with it brother! I was a mess when I first posted that comment. Technicals can't touch me now. Just an abrupt learning curve then you realize its all pretty easy stuff.
A good video to watch for freshmen and sophomores and also very good to compare that one with the Mock interview from Grace during Session 11. You can clearly notice the difference in preparation regarding technicals. A tough mistake in my opinion was John's slipping on the question "what's my mandate as a Private Equity investor?". A candidate should have a clear "macro" view of who the players are in a transaction and what are they motivated by? So clearly look into what is a sponsor, what is a strategic buyer, financier of a deal, agent or investment banker on a deal, etc, it shows genuine interest towards the job and not only "textbook clearcut" answers. It's even good to know what a consultant would do in an M&A transaction (also helps to answer the question "why IB and why not Management Consulting?" )
i feel so prepared for all these questions with little bit of more reading ill be able to crack this interview too! im 20 yr old rn already a CFA level 1 candidate. Its great to pause video and try to answer all the answers myself before you crack them for the interviewee
Thanks for the revieww! We have a sneaking suspicion that is your sharp profile pic might be giving off some extra good luck vibes for interview prep 😂👌 Keep rocking that preparation and don't forget to share the luck with others!
How can you make a DCF for a company with literally no revenue? You're already not supposed to make one for a company with unpredictable cash flow, much less no cash flow at all!
How do you keep your cool when prepping for an intimidating interview?
Cocaine, works every time.

This is a great resource that I’ve been sending to students at my alma mater who want advice on how to break into banking! Thanks for posting!

Yup, see the later sessions!
Where can I access or purchase the interview question/guide you have pulled up on screen share?
I like these interviews
Thanks for sharing this! Really insightful!

I was thinking the same thing. Might be better to use a relative valuation I think.
