Leaving politics aside for a while, if that is even possible, one impressive way to 'turbocharge' the big landmass and its people, America and Canada, would be to wipe away the border which stunts progress, divides people and creates tension at times. Elon or some other wealthy person with influence should be able to fork out some money to Canadian adults to make it happen since there are only about 33 million adults in Canada. Just think of Canadians as well as people from other nations who have gone to America to seek their fame and fortune and have been successful. A prime example would be S. African born Musk who spent three years in Canada, went south to America to seek his fame and fortune and is likely to become the world's first trillionaire. Canada has a shrinking GDP per capita, a weakening Canadian dollar, inflation issues, an increasing cost of living and housing crisis. Some Canadians still think that they need a king ' hovering ' over them in these modern times who lives on a faraway island but what they really do need are lower taxes and a strong (American) military to protect the arctic. Ownership of the arctic means nothing if you can't defend it and Canada does not have the military to defend it, so the arctic is fully dependent on the US for its protection. In April 2021 Putin filed a submission to extend a claim to the Arctic, all the way into the Canadian and Greenland (Denmark) continental shelf and economic zone, as part of Russia's continental shelf. A situation where they're claiming the entire Arctic Canadian and Danish continental shelf as part of the Russian continental shelf. In 2018 Beijing agreed it would cooperate with Russia on a new Arctic silk route, signing 20 bilateral documents and agreeing to invest in the region. As part of this, Beijing will build several Chinese docks across Russia's north in ports. Russia demands permission for ships to use the Northeast Passage plus use Russian pilot ships. Putin wants control of the Arctic trade routes and the natural resources in the Arctic. If America and Canada united, it would be the world's largest country and would be over one million square miles larger than Russia. What a huge 'playground' we all would have-!

In other words, when it comes to the price of Raw Steel, USA-based consumers of Raw Steel (i.e. steel fabrication businesses) *will get stuck paying* THE SAME PRiCE as the *final price* of imported *tariffed* Chinese steel. The result is that a massive number of USA-based *steel fabrication* businesses WILL GO *out of business.* On top of that, government construction contracts, at all levels of government, often specify that *American* *steel* must be used. The implication here is that, if Trump applies a tariff to imported Chinese steel, then, due to the automatic *pricing* *practices* of USA-based *steel* *distributors,* nearly all government funded major construction projects WILL END-UP PAYING *a very high* *price* for *I-beams* and *corrugated steel.* [The USA-based steel distributor that I corresponded with referred to his industry’s pricing practices as *conflation* (i.e. the practice of treating American raw steel and Chinese raw steel as if they were essentially the same thing.) I personally refer to those who price their domestic commodities in this manner as *conflationists.* ]

I had a long back ‘n’ forth text-based discussion with a gentleman who works for a USA-based *steel* *distributorship.* He clearly informed me that when imported Chinese steel has a tariff applied to it, then his USA-based *steel* *distributorship,* and ALL of the other USA-based *steel* *distributorships,* AUTOMATICALLY RAISE *the price* of their USA-produced raw steel TO MATCH whatever the “tariff added” price of imported Chinese steel turns out to be. The implication here is that, if Trump applies a tariff to imported Chinese steel, then, due to the automatic *pricing* *practices* of USA-based *steel* *distributors,* nearly all government funded major construction projects WILL END-UP PAYING *a very high* *price* for *I-beams* and *corrugated steel.*
[The USA-based steel distributor that I corresponded with referred to his industry’s pricing practices as *conflation* (i.e. the practice of treating American raw steel and Chinese raw steel as if they were essentially the same thing.) I personally refer to those who price their domestic commodities in this manner as *conflationists.* ]

He hasn't invested in Canada for 8 yrs. You call that patriotic? Furthermore, who goes with the handle of Mr. Wonderful. WTF is that all about?
Absolutely! Stop the markets from getting flooded with Chinese Junk
American cars are 90% made from Chinese parts, your 15k hatch is now going to be 25k lmao

Mr. Kevin O’Leary is so awesome. I’m glad he’s on our side. 😊
LOL, who pays the tariffs? Everyone and I mean every economist and serious business person and company disagrees with Trump and this O'Leary and Wall Street companies like Morgan Stanley are predicting a collapse in the US economy by 2026 due to these tariffs. Last time this was tried was in 1930 with the passage of the Smoot Hawley Tariff Act that sent our nation deep into the Great Depression. O'Leary is like many NY mommas boys who got a lot handed to them like Trump but really are as dumb as a box of rocks.
He's more on the side of money. He a business man before anything else
He is a Capitalist. This country was founded on Capitalism. 1+1=2. NOT tax the rich BS!
Well we can have O'Leary or Cuban...my choice is clear...is yours?

let’s bring back the made in USA as a hot commodity.
I recall in the 90s Walmart used to sell stuff made in America, the only reason I recall that is in Elementry school in the 90s I had a teacher pushing made in America. Somehow she knew what was gonna happen and she was a Phillipeno lady that was Married to Marine. Mrs Santos Ill never forget her must have been 94/95 time frame.
Do you really think Americans can make all that is imported, make it cheaper, and factories will pop up overnight? He loves you poorly educated for a reason...and doesn't give a crap about you.
Overdue
You guys couldn't afford 3k iphone? Oh wait you can doing 72 months payment plan.
Place more taxes companies that import, and big tax cuts for local businesses that manufacturers local. No incentives, then the end user is screwed
The trade deficit between the US and China has always been in China's favor. In 2023 US imports from China 472 Billion USD vs 147 Billion USD export. That means China needs to sell more than US. Then the Tariff would be good for the US. Moreover, most of the goods imported from China could still be made overseas if they weren't available from China.
Ssshhh, you're using words and data that the Trump cult rodents don't understand
If you all fall for these foolish tariffs there is no hope. The rich don't care because it won't affect them the way it will us everyday common people.
This is why the world is slowly turning away from America. You can’t expect countries to accept sanctions and tariffs indefinitely. You push countries too far and they will seek alternatives, as they are.
America is the best place to put your money in. I say this as a foreigner.

Unfortunately, not all of us were financially literate early. I was 35 when I finally educated myself and started taking steps. I went from $176,000 in debt with zero savings or retirement to now, 2 years later, fully debt-free and over $1000,000 net worth. I know that doesn't SOUND like a lot, but I'm incredibly proud of it. Now I'm fast-tracking my wealth building (investing $400,000 annually) and don't owe a dime to anyone. It's a good feeling!
