In this video you will get to see us groom, tack up, and do some groundwork! We will do some Maintenace on his mane and tail and I will talk about the products I use too. I will also discuss how I go about training new horses, and allowing them to adjust to a new home. I am excited for our future together and I hope you are too. HE TRULY IS MY DREAM HORSE! For a 6 year old stallion only recently gelded he has a very calm gentle personality and for a big horse he has lovely flowing movement, bet you can’t wait for your first ride at home on him.
Can't wait to see him happy in the pasture by himself.
Cant wait to see him interact with the other horses since as a stallion until recently has always been alone.
Gosh, I can't stand people who isolate horses just because they are stallions...
@@Wisteriaaocs Stallions do that in the period when their sex drive is high. Then, any horse can be trained or educated to act in a safe way. Geldings who have been abused or neglejected can even be worse. I'm not 100% against castration, but too much is too much. Should we isolate men with high sex drive because they could get into fights then?
@@Freesia92 True, But I'm talking about mares in season, otherwise stallions can be turned out with mares just not in season.
This is one beautiful horse. He's a gentle giant. Love the way you treat your horses.
I love how chill he is and how he and Mushu had a special moment 🎉❤
What video does Lumy meet Mushue? I didn't see any of that. If you can remember the title I'll look it up
@@dianatracy9687 its at the end of this video, it like a 2 second clip after Shae says bye
Good thing about him being green is he learns your way and doesn’t already have all those bad habits or quirks.I love watching you work him he is so beautiful.

Big Lumi visiting with little brother nonclacking Mushu was SO sweet ~ omgosh, they're SO adorable!!
He's like the BIGGEST Christmas pony EVER! 😂
He does need time on the lunge line, to gain balance and confidence. As he settles in, he will begin to understand more. I did like his nice relaxing snorts, and the way he tossed his head, like he was happy his mane was so nice ❤
I couldn't help but notice how much noise he makes when he puts his feet down even on the sand. Lumi really is a big boy!
He is so solid. Mental, physical.
I want to see him out with the others.
His mane and tail are so beautiful 🤩 He’s really a dream horse
Gosh Lumi is just stunning! 😮 I could watch him for hours… I could see what you meant - he had challenges to hold the circle, to keep himself in position and to hold the tempo. He will learn that very quickly with your training. And some moments he was a bit unsure like when you saddled him. It’s so nice to see you gently integrating a new horse in such a kind way. Mushu looks so small besides Lumi! 😅
As an old lady now I have to tell you in my opinion you my dear are one of the Best trainers on the internet! Anyone that has horses they are training should definitely use your kind informative skills to get the results they want. Thank you for being who you are! Headed over for some lip lush to spoil myself a bit! ❤
In my opinion their are so much better trainers then her I wouldn’t even call her a trainer but a enthusiast. But good for her she has found people that think what she does is great. I wouldn’t have her work with my performance horses. But it would be a safe place to board them and be looked after.
@@sarahrickertsen9634 everyone is entitled to their opinion. And of course when you train your own horses that person believes they are the best. If a person is not enthusiastic about what they do generally they're not very good at it what do you believe she's doing incorrectly?
I love Scottish romances.i could see him carrying a kilt dressed warrior from the twelfth century on his back rescuing a maiden.
Wow Lumi is wonderful! I love how he is learning to stand at the mounting block! Such a good boy! Thank you Shae! I loved the last shot of Lumi and? Can’t think of Gypsy Vanners name!😌🐎❤️
That’s Mushu. The horse with a moustache.
I love mushu!!!!!
WHAT A MAGNIFICENT HORSE 🐎 👏 👌...GREAT JOB ON YOUR TRAINING TECHNIQUES 👏 👍..
Why do I love the "click-click-click" of the stirrups against the girth so much, at his trot? I tell you, I wanted to leap through the screen and mount up. For me, include that sound on a "sounds to relax by" and I'll buy it!! He is utterly beautiful in a pure, classic Disney fashion. I love his coloring. THAT'S the horse the handsome prince arrives on (only you've already got your prince)!😊❤
Well, I've got to go make a doctor's appointment now because I'm turning green…
He is remarkably willing and smart too. Your lipsticks are in lovely shades. You will do super well. I am an empath. I can feel it. I am so happy you got the horse you deserve. I can not tell you how watching you and Kyle together. I suffered under a load of narcissistic abuse as a child from my own family. Horses were my refuge. I watch you cleanse my soul and recover. Thank you for being you.
I ended up in the bottom of a bottle of booze for 40+ yr as the result of manic depressive narcissistic abuse from alcoholic mother. From age 5, horses were my refuge, too. My Shiloh [for 29 yrs] passed over to Rainbow Bridge in 2019; now I'm horse camp host for OR State Parks, loving my hugs with guest ponies.
Horses are healers. ❤️
Me too. I can so relate to your words. My horses were my refuge, and still are at 69.💕
He is magically handsome talk about manifesting what you want!
He is doing well and seems to be adjusting. He and Mushu seem to be becoming friends.
He’s magnificent! While watching my German Shepherd started watching also. He was very intrigued and kept tilting his head back and forth. He loved your kissy sounds and clicks. Haha
I can’t wait to see Lumière being ridden on your farm.
So exciting!! Your training methods are fantastic!!!! 💛🧡
For a horse that was not only recently gelded but started under saddle, he is very kind and responsive. David did a fantastic job with him, but he is going to flourish under your care and training. Also, for never having been turned out with other horses, he's very gentle towards our curious greeter Mushu. I hope everything continues to go well with him and I can't wait to see more updates!
Yay! I came here to say all this!
Adding:
Lumi's luscious locks must be due to some selective breeding. I think all three breeds might have a double mane/tail gene? With the 50% GV; he looks like a GV XLT!
I saw a buckskin Clydesdale Percheron cross on here (sale video) that showed the same pattern on the inside of the front legs! Other than that; not even close to Lumi.
😮😮😮😮don't ever treat a stallion differently handle him every day break and ride him work him like another hires have a place for him to breed separately fro his usual boarding place there is a fine line to keep a stallion in line never abuse one they never forget or forgive I had a neighbor get mean with his stuff and he trampled him poor horse has fresh blood on his sides and neck it was truly self defense
@rhondaskiles5740 I never said they should be treated differently or abused. I stated he was recently gelded because he was originally going to be used for breeding.
What a gorgeous horse with a very kind eye. At the end when you were petting and speaking softly praising him, well. Definitely in no time he will be putty in you hands 😊
❤️
I always click on like straight away, cos i know i'm gonna like it..💜..That is some impressive horse!, his feet are the size of dinner plates, big plates at that...wow what a good boy...i love Lumi...🐴
Lumiere appears to be a gentle giant. I love seeing him in motion, and the way his muscles ripple beneath his skin. He did quite well on today's training session. It was fun to see him and Mushu getting to know each other a bit at the end of the video.
That Fresian tail and mane are certainly shining through! What a handsome fella! Thanks for sharing! Love it! Happy New Year! 💙🩵🌿✨️
I REALLY enjoy watching you with your horses, and yes he is magnificent! Watching him makes me feel like crying and super excited at the same time, so I can only imagine how you must feel to actually be his horse mom and be there with him in person! It must be such a thrill! I bet you are constantly fighting the urge to just want to go and spend all day with him! I cannot wait to see more of him as he progresses and joins the groups going out to the trails. With all the excitement there, how DO you sleep and get anything else done? You are amazing. The BEST horse owner and trainer as far as I’m concerned. The lip color choice today is awesome! ❤❤❤❤❤
I noticed how he looked away when you approached with the pad and the saddle but looked at each when he realised you were asking and not telling him. He's such a lucky boy to be in your family. He's going to absolutely love life with you. ❤ And, not only does he have serious mane and tail. But his hooves aren't anything to sneeze at either. They're MASSIVE! Good job you don't have to have shoes on him. 😄
Serious question-why won’t she have to put shoes on him?
@jannywanny2201 I don't know for sure that he won't need shoes. But he has some breeds with great feet, so hopefully, he won't need them. 🤞🏽
I love the way Shae trains. Lumerire is such a gorgeous horse❤
He is a gorgeous sweet gentle boy and looks very sound. I have to say I haven’t seen a horse there yet that moves as beautifully as Belle. Her movement is incredibly beautiful.
Such a beautiful boy! I love how well you care for him!
I don't think I'll ever tire of watching this lovely boy. Wow. And so cute greeting Mushu!
Lumi is very responsive to voice commands. I wish you well with his progress Shea ❤
I love following you and the horses. Lumi is just your dream come true!
He sounds so beautiful when he moves as his feet hits the ground he's such a beautiful horse and so smart ❤😊
He is so gorgeous!!! ❤ His name is perfect!!
I agree
I agree
What a handsome fellow he is. I could watch him for hours!
My Goodness Shea, he is one stunning gentleman. I have been watching your channel for a while now and i am just so happy for you. I have been living vicariously through your videos and i can just feel your joy in having this amazing animal. All of your horses are just as lucky to have you as you are to have them. I wish nothing but good things for you & Kyle & all the critters on your farm . YOU DESERVE IT
I’ve always loved horses, read everything I could about them since I was a kid. I’m in my 70’s and will most likely never get to have one of my own. But sure enjoy watching you on this lovely horse, which is my favorite color and body type. Happy New Yarbto you and hubiera and all!
Great video further introducing us horse lovers into knowing Lumiere. He's simply Majestic so Gentle & Kind. I love him madly! Then again I don't think there is a horse I could ever dislike. Love all the good boys & girls at Free Spirit. I look forward to every single one of your videos. Thank you Shae!! 🐎❤
I cannot get enough of this horse. He’s gorgeous.
Gotta love the draft cross blood! They are gentle, calm but not deadheads if encouraged. I have a 28 yr old Polish Arab. I got him at 16 and he had been trail ridden but the elderly lady never got him out of a walk or trot and he really didn't know how to balance at the canter with a rider. Poor guy was left in a pasture alone from age 5 until 16 when I bought him. He is a treasure and loves to work cows and has earned his retirement. Thank you for the mane and tail tips, my draft cross has a nice mane but I worry about how to take care of it.
Lume is breathtaking to watch. Every girls dream horse of beauty and honor
He is magnificent! Mr. Lumy is such an incredible looking horse. His mane, forelock and tail are amazingly luxurious and long.
This was a lovely vlog to start my day in LA. Lumiere lighting my way today!! 😁
Thx for another in-depth training session with your newest “fella”.
Looking forward to more with him and ALL the rest of your equine family members! ☮️💟👍❤️🥰
That conditioner is working great! We can already see the difference. What a pretty boy.
Love his disposition! Such a calm horse.just wonderful and hus name fits him to a tea❤❤❤❤❤
I appreciate your running commentary. He is so amazing, and your dedication and love for him just shines. God bless you!
Lumiere is so gorgeous, so majestic, yet so gentle and curious. He already loves you, Shae & Kyle, and he's home where he belongs. I'm stunned his previous humans wanted to part from him, but what a gift for you--and us!
Lumie is such a pretty boy, and look at him and Mushu making friends 😊🐎.
I don’t think he knows what to think of all the affection he’s getting now. He will come to appreciate it though for sure. He’s just so beautiful.
Yes, I'm confident that in a little more time Lumi will be totally in love with Shae!
He is a majestic buckskin, I love watching him move and interact with your other horses. Thank you for explaining the things you do and why you do them.
Aah hes so gourgeous I can't!! ❤
He has such a lovely, calm temperament. And for such a large bodied horse, he moves so well! I think you really scored getting Lumi. Lumiére was definitely the obvious name choice for him, and it fits him so well. He really is a beautiful horse. His first trainer seemed to have started him really well, and considering he's still fairly green, you won't have to unteach him any bad habits.
He is such a beautiful horse!!❤️❤️
He is one of the most beautiful horses I have ever seen!
Yes, you are very gentle with training him … and I like how you’re always concerned with a horses’s psyche!
He’s such a handsome boy. I have no doubt he’ll become your 2nd heart horse … meaning he’ll be a keeper! 🙏🙌❤️
I think Lumy really appreciated the way you showed him all of the tack you were using. I’m thinking about how he will develop more endurance with your wonderful training. I’m absolutely LOVING you two together!! ❤❤❤
He is beautifl and for 6 years old he is very calm!❤
I know right !!❤❤
Lumi was great! I love how you give them time to adjust and take things slow and easy. That will pay off. When you tried him out to purchase and rode him you looked and rode him really good. You have the right horse! I love Mushi and Lumi making nice friends so gently. That went great! Great job all of you!! Perfect!!! ❤❤❤
That last shot with Mushy is precious!! I’m so excited to see Lumi meet everyone officially 👏🏻
Lumi is absolutely gorgeous! You are so calm with him when working with the mounting block. Love them ALL!! Thanks
He’s so lovely. This is such a peaceful channel. I love it. Thank you, Shea. Lumi is stunning. Can’t wait to follow your journey together. ❤
He didn‘t seem too impressed with his beauty treatment. He seems to think „whats the point - do you want to make me even more beautiful?“ 😂😍 this mane is insane - love it!
I felt he liked being fussed over, not having got special treatment from former owners. Like, hmmmn! I could get used to this!
I love your new horse Lumiere. He looks a little uncomfortable with his hair. That forelock seems to be getting in his way. I’m looking forward to seeing you work with him outside and watching the other horses get jealous. I bet Mr. Mushu picks up his feet a little bit higher when you lunge him after he watches Lumiere prance around the arena.
He does that with braids or no braids. It’s just a heavy mane
He looks amazing! Even though he might be green, he seems to be doing very well! Even though he needed more pressure on the canter he looked very smooth for only being 6! I had recently bought a 6 year old and he is incredible. He is about 14.3hh and just the sweetest boy ever, and Lumiere reminds me so much of him! (I also got him a week before your video about Lumiere was released.) I love to see you riding western as well, even though your channel is based more on English riding, I ride western myself and find it so awesome to see you doing western! Love the impact gel saddle pads and if you ever want a good western saddle, I recommend Corriente Saddle Co. they got some amazing saddles! Love your new lipsticks as well!
clydedale is one of my favorite horses. Lumi is magnificent ❤
I'm in love!! He's just a dream, and I'm sooooo happy that you're sharing this adventure with us and allowing us to be a part of this journey, plus showing the benefits of training with gentleness, but also being firm and not rushing him. I've said it before, but I have to say it again... I tell everyone who either has a horse or is getting a horse to go to your UA-cam and watch your video of how your journey began, and if they have a question, I refer them to email you or ask you in the comments. I wish there was UA-cam back in the eighties and someone who shared information like you!!!
Well, between the foals, Belle, and now Mr. Lumy, I'm so excited for you to take along on this journey of loving, caring, training and giving these beautiful creatures the chance to SHINE!! Plus, watching you turn your barn into a beautiful sanctuary for the horses, Penelope, your students, Kyle and YOU!!! The next few years are going to be amazing!! Not to mention, your store and all the amazing products you've created and I'm sure you have many more ideas. Wow, what a time to be YOU!! Your hard work, long hours and determination are being rewarded, I mean just you finding Mr. Lumy is definitely a sign that you're headed in the right direction and at the right pace!!! Here's to 2024 being even greater!!! Cheers!!
Edit- I forgot Koa and Arista, whoopsies, but it doesn't mean I love one more than other because doggies and kitty cats were my 1st animals that I learned to care for and will have until the day I leave this world!!! XOXOXO
OMGAWD....he is beautiful
He is a handsome boy, with a gentle heart.
Questo cavallo é meraviglioso, uno spettacolo, Spirit.
Lumi always looks like he’s smiling. What a cutie. ❤
Wow! What a truly stupendous fellow!!!
I think you are such a Pro and your instincts are exactly right for your Herd. I keep wondering if Bell is going to fall madly in love with this new magnificent Stallion. I gotta a feeling that she is not going to be the only one!
I love the mane and tail. Nature sure creates beauty.❤
Watching Lumi Canter makes me think of medieval knights riding into battle
What a wonderful job Lumi did! He seems to have such a sweet, gentle, and loving soul. ❤
He has such an intelligence about him. So well behaved, and seems to truly like people.
Love all your horses! Wondering how Jafar is doing? Do you see him? Hugs to Ezzie and Ariel!
I wondered the same thing if Shae ever checks on horses that she's passed on
Of course I do. He’s good.
I think you are in LOVE with his MANE, thats why you bought him. you have lovely lush hair and this horse does also. I wd definitely braid his forelock so he can see where hes going; so much cheaper than a leg injury to cope with. ALL draft breeds are chunky heavy built so its harder for them to canter or jump; thats why they have to b driven to canter, they dont do much of it naturally. I had saddlebreds, tall, slender, beautiful, very forward going ie a very slight touch is required to move them forward so trotting cantering jumping are extremely easy for them, no whip or spurs are required to get them going. u just slacken the reins perhaps one or two inches off their bit and theyre off! like driving a ferrari!
It's always inspiring and delightful! 💖
What a good boi !!!!! So sweet, calm, and gentle ❤❤💋💋💋💋
It must be a real pleasure working with such a sweet and willing fellow. That sweetness is what you see in Mushu as well. It must be a Vanner quality. No wonder they seemed to click together. Despite the size difference, that would be very nice for Mushu too have that " best bud" bond with him as poor Mushi seems to be the odd guy out in the geldings. Hoping for that. . .
He is magnificent ❤️. I've had world class/ winners and he puts them to shame. Do pleased for you.😊
You are so lucky have a very calm and gentle stallion, he is so gentle and beautiful and very nice, I wish i had a horse like him but I would like my horse way more playful if I had one..
I will never tire of watching him move. I'm starting to think he will make my top ten one day of most beautiful horses. To my untrained eyes he just has a flow of power with gentle grace combined. I usually fall for Roans and Appys, confirmation counts huge of course. Love horses in all their forms and colors but he grows on me more and more with each new video. So please keep them coming. So you know I almost never comment on channels even the ones I subscribe to. He just makes me want to say something.
Limi is gorgeous wish you both a great start in the new year all the best 🎉🎉🎉❤😊
He's so beautiful, not just his color but his disposition, too. I love the size of his feet! When you were holding them up they looked like the size of dinner platters. LOL.
Those feet of his made me think of elephants feet in nature films when they’re shown walking across the ground. 🐘
You do a beautiful job getting him used to all the parts of mounting. So important to do. ❤❤❤
Awesome video loved watching you both that’s a lot of work can’t wait to see more♥️
Thank you so much for your wonderful channel and for sharing exactly how you train and deal with new horses. I don’t have a horse myself, but my sister did growing up, and I find watching you with your horses to be very soothing. If only everyone could be so loving in their training of other humans and animals. Happy New Year to you and your family! ❤
I loved every minute of this, Lumiere is simply amazing! Thank you for your love and care and gentleness for him and all your horses!
And the last seconds of Lumi and Mushu nuzzling and greeting each other made my day!
He is stunning! ❤
Love how he tosses his head to show off that gorgeous mane and forelock, have any of your students seen him yet Shae?, l would love to see their reaction to him, Happy 2024 to you both and all the animals at Free Spirit Equestrian Farm, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
This video was both enlightening and tranquilizing.. just watching you work relaxes my whole body and watching the horse respond. It's just magical.. anyway, happy New Year to all of you at the farm❤
Omg I love him so much. Literally a fantasy horse ❤❤
Try putting the bale barn on a row (or 2 or 3) of bricks or cement tiles. That way you can adjust the hight to any horse! ❤
No we have another solution :)
So cute at the end with Lume and Mooshu sniffing noses...bug drum and little drum 😀
He's responding really well and beginning to carry himself. Nice work you too.
I love how, when you call Lumi in after lunging, he stands perfectly still a few feet away and totally respects your space. Sue x
What a stunner!! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh!! I ❤LUMI too!
The BEST Christmas present to yourself! I give myself a Christmas present and sometimes a combined birthday present every year! One year it was my Chihuahua Poppy. Over 6 months looking for what I wanted ! White long hair female, but I found her! Like you found Lumière !
Lumi is really beautiful and he's so calm with you. Good luck with him.
You can tell the mane looks so much better. You are the best horse momma❤️❤️
He is a BEAUTY!!!!!
