Wow so happy to see this review! We researched many resorts for our first all inclusive trip and chose this one, February 2024. We were in swim up room across from the lazy river. Not beachie people and it was pool heaven. Service was excellent. Housekeeping gals were 5 star. Highly recommend! Most important on this post though is to send deepest condolences on the loss of your Dad. I lost my Dad last year at age 92. He was still golfing and sharp in mind. He was my everything and like you … I still find it hard to imagine the rest of my life without his wise words and advice. , but it does become a gradual faith that they are with us everywhere, all the time …as opposed to beyond the geographical miles that separated us as we lived life Blessings from Jasper, Alberta 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Wow! Stayed here last year, never thought Coolist would make it to El Faro. We enjoyed it last year too... People should know that the beach not only is not the prettiest, but it is incredibly rocky, almost to the point where in some areas you can't even get in the water.... BUT... There is a little lagoon right next to the privilege Beach to the left, that is not part of ocean el faro property... But the water is crystal clear and calm, and there is marine life everywhere in there... We took Pringles into the lagoon and fed the fish they swim right up to you, and there were people snorkeling out about 50 yards from the shore that were catching octopus and spotting stingrays... It was amazing
Agreed! We were just there and absolutely loved our stay. Service was amazing, activities were fantastic, we loved our swim-out room and the food options were great (the privilege lounge & the steak house have the best food imo).

I will be flying from Montréal Canada. You are correct. This is incredibly cheap. But I am planning on going in September which is heavy rain season and heavy mosquitoes!
I went with my daughter and we had a fabulous time! Food was excellent and service great…. Beach not but we went to lagoon beside us and was wonderful! Funny how different peoples experiences are.. a couple that went same time had a horrible time. ..to each is own! Lazy river was fun and drinks tasty! No complaints at all…cheapest price I’ve paid for vacation in a long time and we stayed on Elbeso side and hung by the party pool all week lots of room to chill and float around
Good video and glad you had a good time and liked the H10 and Privilege rooms and extras. I use H10 and Privilege in Spain but cannot comment in such glowing terms of their service. Keep the videos coming.

We just got back from El Faro last night, and I agree with most of your evaluation. One mistake, the BEST ROOM in the resort is what we had, the Grand Master Swim up room! Same size and exact layout as your room, with the advantage of 20 feet of private pool right at the edge of your sliding doors, best room I've ever stayed at in an all inclusive. And the best part... 7 nights for two people in that room was only $1900 USD!! Fantastic Value.
Just came back. You’re in for a treat if you’re not just going for the (seaweed-covered) beachfront. I planned an outside excursion that included seeing Playa Macao and I’m glad I did.

Love the intro music on this one, and the "heading to the adult's only pool..." then cutting to a pic of pizza and pasta, and then owning up to it right after was a fun surprise. I am a travel advisor and I have seen great value in your Punta Cana videos. You have positioned them so we'll that I can risk sending clients based on your presentation without experiencing them yet. That's changing so though as I am mapping out my top twenty to visit during my extended stay there as well.
Was curious James to see your review on this resort. I passed on it last Oct 2023 because of mediocre reviews. Also it was for a group tennis inclusive training and play. Yet couldn't find any reviews about their tennis program. Thankfully chose Hyatt Ziva/Zilara instead. Perfection all around..no tennis but Pickleball was available. Sincere condolences ❤
Last night it was 12:45AM. I was exhausted and then it happened! I saw that you put this video up and of course I had to stay up and watch it. I wouldn't do that for anyone but you Cool! This resort has some interesting aspects. Unfortunately the beach isn't that great and the adults section is just that, a section! Great video!

Went in Dec! A swim up rooms are a must, waitress passes regularly to serve drinks. . The privilege not needed if you on Beso side. Beso buffet near beach has best food and service. The a la cartes can be skipped, waited 2 hours for our food at the steakhouse. There is a nice beach area called the lagoon after the privilege area all way to the left, all other beach areas have hard waves. Skip the lazy river as the water is green most of time (where kids mostly hang out). The club was terrible but the shows are somewhat good.

Also, Does this resort have facilities in place (elevators, ramps, golf carts etc) to help me get everywhere I might want to go with my Suspect knees? I heard horrible things from a friend about the other Oceans property in Mexico (maya royale), and another friend raved about the Jamaican property. You broke the tiebreak. Keep up the good videos and hope you're are doing well!
Went in April! Was really nice my only gripe was how many times we got approached for a time share presentation/other sales. Was very awkward to have to keep saying no to the same guys over and over again. They had a lot of events for younger audiences and we also went to the club at night was really cool! Bartenders were really cool and constantly talking to us, we even left a review with their names on it cause they were making good stuff. def a good 7 day stay for us. Recommend it to the chill audience who isn’t looking to black out every night 😂
Hey James. Loved the way you ended this video talking about pros and cons. I still think at the end you could work in a rating 0-10 on food, room, beach, pool, night life, drinks, vibe, and value or something like that. Could total them up to get an overal score. It would work great for your next video ranking all the punta cana resorts you've been to. Would be a lot like the Doug score from Doug demuro, and would be awesome. All the best|
I can tell those Michael Jackson tribute nighttime entertainment shows at other all-inclusives have been living rent free in your mind as of late, hahahahaha! 😉🙂 (This is Zara from my original account by the way: Zara is a stage name alias of mine. About to launch my new UA-cam channel late next month/early September with you among others being an inspiration! 😍) This definitely seems like it has eclipsed RIU as the new awesome value party destination (for now at least) in Punta Cana. And from the looks of it they're not trying as hard to be that: it just comes about naturally: not to mention with exponentially better food. When you booked that room, how do you make sure to get the 2nd floor? I booked the same room for next year, and i really dont want to be on ground level.
The privilege restaurant at Ocean in Jamaica, was our favorite for breakfast by far. We had this fried fish that may be the best we’ve ever had. It was that good!
I'm at this Resort right now. Definitely met my expectations, multiple activities and food choices. Only problem is how difficult it is for the workers to understand us because their accent is very strong and we have a Canadian accent, so it caused some difficulties ordering food or other small tasks. Other than that, it's been great, can't wait to see what more it has to unfold!
H10 got my attention in Mexico too. Their food is top notch, well except Rt66 . Great video brother was hoping you had gone there on your DR trip. Recovered footage?

We went last year, February 2023. We also loved Ocean Riviera Paradise, México so we wanted to try an Ocean resort in Dominican Republic. We booked Privilege but not on the Beso side. The room smelled really bad, like humidity. The restaurants all felt like cafeterias and the food was just ok. The pool was very cold (it can happen) Our butler was useless. The only great thing was the Lobby. Sorry

With the exception of the beach in front of your suite I found the property quite lovely!

This definitely seems like it has eclipsed RIU as the new awesome value party destination (for now at least) in Punta Cana. And from the looks of it they're not trying as hard to be that: it just comes about naturally: not to mention with exponentially better food. I think I have no choice but to book this as one of my resorts on my trip. Thanks sooooooo much again! 🥰

You should visit Egypt ( Hurghada , sharm el sheikh , north coast ) believe me you are going to have a blast . It’s all inclusive as well
The privilege restaurant at Ocean in Jamaica, was our favorite for breakfast by far. We had this fried fish that may be the best we’ve ever had. It was that good!
I'm at this Resort right now. Definitely met my expectations, multiple activities and food choices. Only problem is how difficult it is for the workers to understand us because their accent is very strong and we have a Canadian accent, so it caused some difficulties ordering food or other small tasks. Other than that, it's been great, can't wait to see what more it has to unfold!

We went last year, February 2023. We also loved Ocean Riviera Paradise, México so we wanted to try an Ocean resort in Dominican Republic. We booked Privilege but not on the Beso side. The room smelled really bad, like humidity. The restaurants all felt like cafeterias and the food was just ok. The pool was very cold (it can happen) Our butler was useless. The only great thing was the Lobby. Sorry

We were very happy with the food at ORP buffet and are hoping to hit the jackpot here. But would love a heads up if you think I should adjust my expectations!
