I use the metal serrated edge on my tape dispenser to make the perforations on the two ends of the tickets. From the kitchen, the serrated cutting edges on boxes of aluminum foil and waxed paper can be used on long strips.
I absolutely have been binging your videos. You are so creative and your mission to upcycle and recycle items with repurpose and beauty is a gift!! Thank you so much for your artistry!
Helen as you may remember from my previous comments, I recently found your UA-cam channel. I’m really loving the art that you create and the techniques that you share! I also am so appreciative of your planet friendly thoughts and ideas! I haven’t found any other UA-camr that expresses that viewpoint. I really love it! Also I’m already addicted to your 1st book and looking forward to reading the rest of the series! A librarian that loves vintage paper and stationary items with murder thrown in for good measure? YES!!! Thank you! 🥰
I'm so glad that you feel my videos offer a somewhat unique perspective on the craft Linda. Being green is really important to me, and it was important to my husband while he was here. I'm so glad you are enjoying Kitt's first adventure. I really appreciate you reading my work. ❤️
I was so excited to see you use these receipts. I'm pretty much homebound so I don't get them but my family collects them for me. I've been using them to make little notepads I also fold them in half and use them for foundation for snippet rolls and also foundation for clusters. But this is a new idea and I just love it. Thank you so much. My junk Journal friend Jamie is the one who introduced me to you and I'm so glad she did
I'm so sorry to hear about the health issues you're managing Judie, but I'm so glad your friend recommended the channel. I really hope you enjoy the videos. You're so right about receipts making great snippet roll foundations. I never thought of making little notepads out of them. That's so cool! ❤️
It's my pleasure. I'm sure many more will pop up in the comments. People are so creative and this is such a great platform for sharing. Kelly at Root Pursuit also did a video on tickets / labels after watching this and I loved her ideas.
@@journalingplanet I am collecting ideas, ephemera, etc for some journals I'm making in the new year, and for making ephemera packs for my Etsy shop, I want to offer variety and different from the norm if you know what I mean

Hi, I like using Publisher's Clearing House junk mail to make tickets and stamps, etc. They already have those little stamps, and they make cute little tickets.
Patricia Mae Anthony ( my regular tip lady...) 😄😄😄 pointed out your video to me. Patricia Mae is from Oregon. I am from the UK. It was your recycling tips that made her share! These look fun, anyway. I have other ideas of how to make labels, too. Using absolutely any thing you like!!! I think you would like the ideas. Ah. I call them Snippet Notes on that video - Inspired by Tim Holtz' Field Notes. They look exactly the same (kind of thing). Like yousaid they can be any size and these were generally smaller. Video is 13th Oct 2022. Thanks very muchfor your great video Hazel, Nottinghamshire UK 😊😊😊💖💖💖
Hi Hazel, thanks for this. I'm from Sunderland UK myself. Patricia has an amazing stock of junk journaling tips! It's very kind of her to recommend me. I've subscribed to your channel and will definitely check out your videos. ❤️
@@journalingplanet That's amazing. Thanks so much. I have a few label and ticket videos dotted about. I liked your idea of making them for masterboards. Haha so Patricia Mae gets about. Love that lady 🤩 😊😊😊💖💖💖
I think that one came from Shein. They rotate their stock a lot but I'm sure you'll be able to find something similar. I do my best to help the planet. It's not always easy but I think it has made my work more creative and individual!
Love this idea. I always say no to receipts to save the planet … I will have them now. Love a recycling project and I have many of the same stamps as you 😊
The ink on those receipts will disappear in about a year, maybe less. I noticed this with ones that I have saved for whatever reason- movie tickets too, fade. I don't know if it's the ink or the paper it's on. Don't know but they do fade . Just wanted to let you know. :)
Hello, yes, you're right of course. I have some really old movie stubs / receipts that haven't faded but the modern ones do and it's an important point. From what I've read it's heat and light that make them fade so I guess the more you open your junk journal, the more these embellishments will fade. Thanks for bringing this up so other crafters are aware. I didn't think to mention it in the video myself. Too busy playing with my ink stamps. 🙈🙈🙈
@@journalingplanet I think when I used a light coat of mod podge all the colour immediately disappeared. Also most modern receipts I believe are quite toxic. I can’t remember the reason people say they are. I think it’s around estrogen, so I prefer not to take them. If I were to chose to start using them for crafts I would definitely research this. I’m sure this must be one of those things that is a contentious view or supermarkets would not be able to hand them out, but there are certainly quite a lot of people who argue they are toxic. I haven’t researched this as I choose to avoid them as much as I can.
@@annwestcott3752 thank you for posting this Ann, it's not an issue I was aware of. Apparently, some receipts are coated in a chemical called BPA. I can't find an immediate reputable source that says it is dangerous to touch receipts. But almost all retailers in the UK where I'm from don't use it. I did find an article quoting an oncologist who said the idea that receipts are toxic is not realistic and that the study that claimed this only contained 4 participants. There is so much misinformation on the internet it's difficult to weasel out the exact truth but thank you for raising this in the comments so other crafters can make the choice of whether to use receipts.
Didn't see the links for waxing you mentioned at marker 33:03 Human Crafting? Shine Green or Joey defeat. Will you please supply links, I'd like to know more about that.
Ah yes, the channels are Bohemian Crafting, Joie De Fi and Sharron Green. They've all used wax on there tutorials and should be easily searchable. It might be to do with the paper they use where you live. UK receipts definitely fade. 😐
be careful using receipts. The paper used is thermal, and if you use any type of glue it will turn the paper black.
Thanks for this Laurel. It hasn't happened with any of my creations... Yet! But it's good for people to know it's a possibility. ❤️
