I really want to demo one of these 🤩. I’m a war canoe paddler from the Fraser Valley, BC. I’ve always pondered trying a Surfski with an Outrigger paddle. Our canoes are very simple designs. 21-24 ft length. 16-19” wide @ lowest part of hull. 24-45 lbs depending on your canoe maker. Rounded hull. Rudderless. Fully open hull. Typically dug out carved from cedar. Or laminated red cedar strips. I feel like we’d be able to transition into paddling one of these fairly quickly. Not to brag but it’s the balancing we are used to. Our open hull limits the type of water we can race and paddle. Choppy weather = sinking 😑. So I can see some great benefits already where I’m from, just in training opportunities. Maybe hit up Open small watercraft races! Let us know when these become available to demo!
