Special message to you guys...50 years ago I was an MP and also company armorer while stationed in Germany, I got to look at alot of 1911's. One of the 1911's in our arms room had that "stimpiling" on the front of the grip. Of course not an offical modification,....but that "work" on that G.I. 45 could have happened before it left military service. The only one I ever saw like that.

Look on the Barrel bushing for AD initial. That was usually done by Al Dinen out of Connecticut.Early on gunsmith did that on the front of grip for better control.
He was very into tight lock-up.

Chris and Randy, not only are your videos informational but entertaining too! I enjoy the banter and joking you two do throughout the video! Plus the bloopers show the fun mood behind the scenes! Thank you for another great unboxing video. Jeff

That 1911 stippling looks terrible.I saw one that had a hole drilled into the top of the slide for a custom sight. But back then ,they were a $20.00 gun.

FWIW Scrolling back through your videos, it would seem that your analysis videos do better than unboxing. I personally prefer the history lessons, but I understand that time is the most precious commodity.

These are the best "unboxing" videos on UA-cam, hands down. That said, a little bit of me dies every time you say "Nevada." The first "a" should be pronounced like the "a" in "at."

That ar15 is a stag lower with a bear creek arsenal upper you can tell by the muzzle device and the hand guard is one there older version.

That's a real shame about the stipling on that Ithaca 1911-A1. I'm fortunate to own a WWII-issued Ithaca1911-A1, all original, all correct proofs & markings; manufactured in '43 and shipped to the Ordnance Property Officer, Army Air Base, Topeka Kansas, on June 15, 1944.. It is in very nice shape, with Parkerizing intact & no rust/corrosion. The only non-original component is the magazine.
