- In this exclusive interview, Absolute Radio presenter Russ Williams speaks to Steve Tyler and Joe Perry from Aerosmith about their new album (Music from Another Dimension!), how important it is for the original lineup to be back together, and surprises Joe with the news that the band are the best selling American rock band of all time.
Aerosmith return to London for the first time in four years to headline the brand new Calling Festival on Clapham Common.
The best-selling-American-rock-band of all time will take the stage on Saturday 28th June 2014 with special guests Joe Bonammasa and Thunder.
You can tell Steven is bored and then becomes furious, because he's not used to someone else getting to do a lot of the talking. You should buy Joe Perry's book, "Rocks". You will learn a lot about how they fought and what they fought about. It was a real eye opener for me. But despite all that they've gone through, he still loves Steven like a brother. They will always be the toxic twins as long as Aerosmith is functioning as a band.

The thing about this band is that their music doesn't age. They haven't changed their style in all this time. Like when Joe was talking about other bands and their gimmicks. They don't have to put makeup on like KISS, they don't need the tutus and pumps like the Dolls. Their "Gimmick" is creating music from the heart and music with meaning.

@@danielledumont6536 I wouldn't call it a gimmick so much as a signature look. It was functional before it was fashionable. Steven used to use little sewn out pockets in the scarfs to stash drugs in so he could take a hit while performing.

saw this band at wings stadium in kalamazoo michigan in 1975 when toys in the attic came out. paid 5.00. had great seats. couldnt hear for 2 days afterwords. first concert for me. liked them from get your wings on.....still happy rock is still played.

It's because Joe is the rock star of the band, he always will be. Aerosmith is truly an electrifying guitar band and it wouldn't be the same without Joe. You listen to all the 70's albums and hear all them awesome riffs by Perry, you'll then realize why Joe Perry is the number #1 rock star of Aerosmith. Something to think about.

It's amazing to always hear Peter Green brought up in interviews by musicians but hardly ever hear his guitar work.
Tylers glamour, image, and that pout! cloud I think the fact that he is a great singer. Would love to hear thim do an album of Blues & Apalacian classics - just his voice and acoustic guitar.

I don't know if Joe (or any other member) have been on the ride, but I do know that there is a photo of Joe with Mickey Mouse standing in front of the coaster somewhere on the Internet. I've seen it a few times. Joe looks ecstatic in the photo, a huge smile!
Yes all 5 of them were some of the first ones to ride on it .I saw the news clip on the local news here in Florida.

Steves said several times was his fault but... in other hand he s the lead singer (amazing unique vocals), made a huge sucess singing Aerosmith songs... Look at Steven's body language for Most of the interview (while he has to sit there quietly [for a change]), & Especially just after the 9:40 mark, where he looks bored sort of & then looks off camera to His right with a "Look at This guy, hogging the interview" type of thing.
