I don't think you are quite right there at 2:45, slicks provide more grip than any tire with a tread. That is why all motosport race tires in dry conditions are slicks. Tires with tread are good when there's water or debris that can be cleared and allowing the knob to grip the ground below the water.
Yeap but dont forget how soft is a motorsport race tire compound compared to a road bike clincher tire. I dont like to argue but I had the same idea before testing both types on the same bike. You get little more grip on any mtb tire because the knobs deforms better "scratching" more over the surface you ride. Even in summer when the road temp is hot, the slick compound doesnt give you any advantages except on rolling resistance and wear which is in fact more superior than a mtb tire, and the round shape helps you a little bit to lean over on a smoothest way This doesnt mean slick tires are b****hit, I like them and I found at 1.7bar cornering is great for my weight of 75kg (I've fallen 3 times already to realize that)
Very cool! ; I just got some Rubena V99 City Hopper Bicycle Tire with Anti-Puncture System and Reflective Sidewall (Black, 26x2.0-Inch) Tires, since my bontrager mtb tires just split down the Tread middle on the rear. I'm using my mtb as as a grocery haul and bike camping/ packing rig w both packing bags and or panniers pending feel and needs. . Any how, it's great to see there's other options out there, as I just looked for the highest rated and cheapest tire out there and landed on these Mitas tires; so fingers crossed works okay; as I'm a roadie at heart anyway. Kudos 👏
kenda krad. maxxis holy roller. both of these tires are REALY the best to get, they ride perfectly on every thing, the only area they lack in a tiny bit is on snow. and the best way to set up the bike is 26x2.30 krad or 26x2.40 holy roller. and for the front it must be either 27,5" or 29" that is wider than the rear with the most agresive contact patch like a maxxis agressor or schwalbe magic mary. so 2.40 to 2.80 is like the sweet spot. in general you want the most pricey and agresive front tire you can get, and a cheap to medium rear thats for stunt/street. the front tire wears very little compared to the rear. i have this setup on my 40kg ebike that can go 80/h and never slipped on grass or dirt or any thing.
Would a 29er make a good commuter? That might make a good video 26 vs 29 er commuter . I imagine the 26 would be better for that stop and go areas where the 29 would be better for rougher roads and longer stretches .

Hello,my stock tires is 27.5*2.2 and im planning to replace with 27.5*1.75. Do I need to replace my rims too or would it still fit?
Most likely they'll still work.

Hi, do you think I will see the difference if I change my tires from knobby 26 x 1.75 " to slick 26 1.50 " ?
You definitely will. I swapped from 26x2.0 knobbies to a 26x1.5 slick and it made a drastic difference on how well it rode on the road.

I think you meant to say get the most aggressive/expensive tire for the rear and cheap/medium tire for the front
40 kilos? Damn

Ypu should be an auctioneer
😂
Don't know what magic schwalbe did but i switched to slicks for tarmac riding and they are slower than 27.5x2.25 nobby nics i had on bike.
The pattern of treads make all the difference too , pressure etc ..
knobby tires suck in the city
Dude. Slow down and annunciate. You sound like Joe Biden.
