I just want a Dine Out refresh so bad. Because I was so excited for that pack… I work in a restaurant and it would be cool to be able to have your Sim play as a server as like an active job. It would be pretty easy to do, because it’s all based on repetitive steps, but your sim could get better or worse tips depending on their performance and depending on the traits of the Sim they’re serving. Like you could have a mean or snobby sim not tip well for good service, or a good sim tip well even if you weren’t very good.

As a black simmer who doesn't use much cc because my computer can't handle it I can say I have absolutely bought a pack because the hair had more representation. I was vaguely interested in real of magic but it was my first game pack specifically because of the hair.
absolutely!! I've done the exact same thing before. the fact that they keep adding in pack hairs instead of making new ones for the base game seems more like they're trying to cover their ass instead of actually fixing the problem.
I bet u were really hurt when that pack had the worst gameplay and lots. While the world was pretty there wasn’t… much. I’m sorry you can’t download cc but you should t have to in the first place. Luckily the sims is going in a more diverse direction so hopefully you’ll get the hair (and much more ofc) of ur dream and ethnicity

I'm not black but I've definitely done the same, although I do use cc, so that might be an "izzy is way too sims obsessed" problem on my part.
I’m a black simmer and I’ve definitely purchased several packs purely because I wanted certain hairstyles for my black sims. I’m happy that they’re making more hairstyles available to everyone but I really wish that they would add new ones to the game instead.

I'm a South African simmer and I've realized the lack of African attire in the game. Actually attire in general. Yes they've now added asian clothing to the game and the outfits are beautiful. But there is such little representation in the base game. I don't have all the packs but in the ones I do have, there is literally nothing african or traditional. Africa is extremely diverse when it comes to different cultures and attire so there are many different clothes they could add. In the entire base game, there is only 1 African outfit. To me it doesn't even count as african because it's so westernized. There's only one headdress but it's not even the nicer way of wearing one. Africa is filled with so much color and fashion but there's such little to no representation in the game. It really breaks my heart to see that and I don't even think they'll properly acknowledge it because my continent is seen as nothing to Americans.

@@ayandamahlangu3422 yeah, it’s pretty sad to see the westernized portrayal of poc in the sims, honestly I wish they would do more research because the Sims have always been lax in rep tbh. The black sims have stereotyped features and the lack of black hairstyles that you mentioned, and there is an obvious majority of white sims in the game. the main problem is they cater to the western audience which is mainly white. As you can see, that results in the Asian sims ex the lunar new year sims are stereotyped HEAVILY (the skin tones are legit not even olive, just pale yellow and who wears a qipao as casual wear?) there is literally no latina and poor native rep in game (I’ve checked and out of ALL the expansion and game packs there is legit ZERO sims who are latina ), most of the makeups are designed for pale sims, pride flags have the lipstick lesbian flag (I get this one as it’s been years since it was added in game but the sims team could just easily fix it 💀) honestly I wish they’d bother to actually put some effort into rep instead of focusing on the white audience and throwing like one or two westernized and poorly made cultural clothing in game and calling it a day
They should add more cultural stuff like food and cooking food differently like that one island sort of but better (can't think of name) and have huts different types of houses from different parts of the world.

Brazil is not a hispanic country, and brazilians are native portuguese speakers, just a heads up for the future since it's a common misconception that Latin America is all hispanic and speaks spanish. It's sad how some people are toxic in these Sims events, I'm glad the community has someone with a big platform like you using it with responsibility. Love you!
until I don't know how many years ago but a fair amount into my adult life I also didn't know the difference between hispanic / latino.
Somehow went quite sometime before I learned hispanic is more literally spanish speaking people. Sorry!

@@mayakyen3695 Hispanic is generally used to describe people from a Spanish-speaking country. As someone who is Hispanic, I don't find it derogatory but not everyone feels the same because it lumps different cultures into one group. Brazilians specifically aren't Hispanic because they don't speak Spanish, but they're Latinx because they're from a country in Latin America.
The term is a derivative from Latin that was meant to describe those from Spain. There's more information if you google "Hispanic Etymology".

black console simmer here👋🏾. we need more protective styles: box braids/knotless braids, & twists with hairbows for kids (kind of like the toddler hair from toddler stuff)… just more curl patterns & variations of them, especially type 3 & type 4 hair. this cc creator, sheabuttyr, makes gorgeous maxis match black hair, she could help them make some hairs to implement into the base game…

@@ehetenandayo6749 I completely disagree with you. Representation is so important, and if I can't make myself in the Sims because there isn't enough curly hair, then there's a problem. And that's just for 3a-3c, 4a-4c hair is a whole other thing, and I believe that we definitely need more protective hairstyles, along with just different styles in general, in the Base Game. We shouldn't have to download CC just to make simple Sims that could exist in real life

I’d rather not have to settle for myself with straight hair when I should have representation in a life simulation. I have every single expansion pack, game pack, stuff pack, and kit and there still isn’t my hair, even if one pack happened to have one, I shouldn’t have to pay for it. Check your privilege
I did actually buy Island Living just for all the pretty black hairstyles. And the short curly style in parenthood definitely influenced me into buying it when I was on the fence

Disabilities within the Sims seems like it would be a challenge to get right. The Sims is often silly, weird, and random. Adding disabilities with dignity, and without shame or mocking, while maintaining the silly weirdness of the game is so important to get right, and I imagine the Sims team wants to be sure a lot of research and care goes into that process.
Absolutely agree, I imagine that to be quite challenging.

Hey simsie, thanks for speaking up about the blatant xenophobia that was happening on that stream. I’m a Brazilian simmer and the amount of nasty stuff I read on the livestream was enough to make me very anxious and want to close the stream, when it was supposed to be something for me, as a Latin American person that plays the sims ever since I was a kid. I feel you from Argentina, I have been playing since I was born basically but I never really went into this streams, point being I heard that this one was special for Latin American or Hispanic Heritage and I got so so excited so I went in. It hurted so much seeing all the hate in a place that was supossed to be for us, to be heard in a community so big like The Sims, a community that is supposed to be fun and to have a good time, it's so sad. I have to say that when they announced the scenario mode I was quite disappointed, I thought "yeah so it's basically rags to riches and the 100 baby challenge but coined with the EA logo".
But what you said was really interesting and made me change my mind a bit, and I totally agree that they probably wanted to do what they did with Tiny Living by making challenges more "in-game"' so you can track your progress more easily. And yes maybe for people addicted to the Sims like us we have already been doing those challenges for years but it's probably brand new for millions of players who play occasionally and don't watch UA-cam!
it also has the potential to make these kinds of challenges more accessible for people who have difficulties tracking specific things, like a baby count for a 100 baby challenge!
Yeah, I would hope that if they were to implement (for example) the 100 Baby Challenge through this mechanic, whether officially or through a dedicated mod, there would be things like an in-game baby counter and graying out the ability to "Try for Baby" with partners you'd already had children with. When I did a 100 Baby Challenge run, I used a spreadsheet app on my phone to keep track of everything, but of course would find myself pausing the game and scrolling through the spreadsheet like, "Have I already had a baby with Bob Pancakes? I see our friendship's pretty high, but I can't remember if that was just casual socials or the result of the 'Ask to Just Be Friends' interaction after my girl here conceived his child." It would make it a bit easier to keep track of and follow the rules for more complex challenges.
That being said, I'd be interested to see how they would implement things like Not So Berry, where there are specific generational requirements for things like traits and aspirations. Like for example, if your challenge Sim has twins, does the game randomly pick which kid you have to use to carry on the challenge? Does it prompt you to pick one? How about if you don't want either one to become the next challenge Sim for whatever reason and plan on trying for another baby later (in a generation that doesn't have only having one kid/pregnancy as a rule, obviously)? Or maybe it automatically gives all of, say, Rose Generation's characteristics to all of Mint Gen's children, just in case. I can see why they went with something theoretically simple like Rags to Riches first.
And of course, if they were to straight-up use the 100 Baby Challenge, Not So Berry Challenge, or any other challenge that can easily be ascribed to one specific author, I hope they give that particular creator some sort of compensation for using it in-game. Another reason they probably went with something like Rags to Riches is because I'm sure that if there even exists an "official" Rags to Riches Challenge ruleset, probably almost every long-time Simmer has at one point or another said, "Huh, I wonder what it would be like to make a homeless Sim who has to meet all their needs in public places until they can earn enough Simoleons to build their own house from scratch?" It'd be very hard to ascribe that idea to one specific author.
I've only had Sims 4 for 5 months now and it's my first Sims game.
I am STILL learning about mods and custom content.
I bought my first laptop IN 11 YEARS at the same time that I got Sims4, so I'm still catching up with technology lol
Also I'd like to point out with the scenarios, I personally didn't watch UA-cam videos like at all up until a couple years ago and I discovered this entire community. I literally had no idea that this existed, I didn't know people did challenges. I think this could be helpful with expanding the community to people that don't know that it exists.

Or even making it easier to keep track of those challenges. For example in some challenges you can only control certain sims in your household. It’s one thing for a challenge to have a rule that you can’t control them. It’s another thing for the game to stop you from doing it

As a Brazilian, ANY pack that has the tiny bit of possibility for Latin inclusivity is automatically in my to buy list. I’ve seen so many packs focused on Asians in general (and they deserve to be included just as much) but I still dream of the day EA will do a Latin inclusivity pack bc honestly, I’d die for it, specially if it had Brazilian and other South American countries representation
I get that. I love Asian culture so much but when there’s so much for it I feel left out. Shoot I want them to add more Asian culture no doubt, but while they’re at it Latin culture would be reaaaallly cool to have too.

I wish they did the businesses in the sims 4 like the sims 3 resorts where you have access to fully work every station. That would better the game play. If they made the game less kid friendly too. I miss being robbed, I miss my sims going to jail if they were in the criminal career. I want to be able to experience family rivalries, and have my kids go to prom (if this becomes a thing i would rather experience it with the teen sim) or being in other after school activities. I feel like as the sims aged it became too kid friendly. This game didnt grow up with us as it should have. If you want a children version of sims then the wii sim games were great for that
I love that you’re a glass half-full type of girl. Almost all of the sims community is so negative and complains about everything that maxis does, but whenever I need to hear updates I come to you and know that you always have a positive thing to say. I think that scenarios will be so much fun and a way to enrich the gameplay! And it also gives people new types of gameplay to explore instead of the normal mainstream one. I liked it.

Like a Halloween themed one, where you have to interact with ghosts, do a special interaction with something at 12 AM or 3AM, maybe have a sim in your household die too.

Yeah it could be more like the little concert event they did before. It can also add new themed items for a limited time, and then add it to the 'actual' game later. Like Simsie said, their update schedule is exactly that.. a schedule they have to stick to. Now imagine they had assets they didn't have time to get out for that schedule and now by the next scheduled release it doesn't make sense, so it gets scrapped. I think that's what this system is mostly for. So if something doesn't make the update patch they can just kinda deliver it to us quickly without need of a full version change.
That would be fun! I'm excited about this new update idea.

I'm so sorry you had to experience this. Maybe I'm lucky that I only watched this video and not the stream. Seems like there were some really nasty people. I don't know what they said, but Spanish and Portuguese are wonderful languages (I love listening to the native speakers in my Domestika courses, even though I don't speak Portuguese at all and only a bit Spanish) and Latin American culture is so diverse and interesting (especially in Latin American countries themselves, but ofc also in Latin American communities in the US and other countries). I wish I can visit some Latin American countries someday and I hope you don't let these nasty people in the chat get you down!
@@Eagle_Owl2 thanks i didn't let them get me down it is just sad to see it. I was born in California, Spanish is my first language and I am fluent in English in fact i have a degree in it and i am currently leaning French for fun. I think the more cultures and diversity in the Sims the better.

Actually, I think the scenario update is great for my adhd ass. I like challenges, they seem really cool, but I need a bit more structure to remind myself that I have goals in a game otherwise I'll just play basically the same thing over and over, or I'll forget about my previous games and start a shiny new one. It reminds me of the Sims 2 spin offs (like Pet Life or Castaway) where you have a mashup of a sim game with a more "traditional" rpg type game. It's cool to have the option to turn your normal Sims 4 in something more high stakes without having to come up with ideas yourself. 😊
Not really relevant, but their mistake with the window from the Industrial kit on the promotional images would explain why they don't use actual rendering from the game for promo anymore. It's all cartoon style as to avoid repeating their mistake. That's what I think at least!
Now that you say that, it would explain why there was literally *nothing* in terms of actual stuff that was out before it was released.
@@AngelaThomas1 Yes! that would make sense. I also feel like kits aren't handled and reviewed as much as packs are. There aren't as many large teams of people working on them, so the odds of an oversight in the release are definitely higher.
I think it's just because they're being rushed. It's easier, and much faster, to make a quick cartoon style promo art than to have art of a pack then an actual rendering. It also requires a lot of communication between the art team and asset team.
That's what I've thought too about the illustrations vs actually images.
And that window should come to the Industrial Loft Kit, not to base game.
@@andrewmoeller1987 It should, but I don't think they've ever added anything to an existing pack post-release before. I'm assuming it's a little more complex than your average game updates

As someone who's purchased many packs, I honestly don't care if they add pack content to the base game - a couple items is only a dollar or twos' worth of content, & there are several pack items I've paid for that I think SHOULD be base game (like windows that match base game windows - why do they do that?) My stance on it is that I'm glad more people can use the items.
But why can't they create new inclusive hairstyles to add to the basegame instead of using stuff we have already paid for, to seem inclusive? It's like they can't even be bothered to make an actual effort to be inclusive. It's not nice or professional at all. The game costs almost 1000$ for all the packs and for this we can't even get a new free hairstyle added to the basegame? 😔
@@12wer3wer9 something I'm hoping is that while they're making some stuff free for base game, future pack updates will make up for those items lost ya know? Like the Spa Day refresh added a BUNCH of new items, including CAS stuff, so I'm figuring there'd be something like that in the future. I do agree that they should just make new items, but the base game is SEVERELY lacking, so I'm not too bothered by what they're doing :p

It’s amazing how people think that the us and the uk are the only countries that play the sims. While there’s millions of people playing the sims from all over the world. As a Latin American simmer I really felt like there’s was a lot of racism in the chat, I hope not all only Latin Americans have representation but more cultures. Hopefully next cultural stream the chat would not be that racist 😊

Why there aren’t wheelchairs, crutches, the ability to break a bone, I have no idea.
I’d like to have to go to the hospital for treatments when sick instead of just drinking tea, orange juice, or medicine. I doubt my sim family is the only one in the Simaverse that can combat all ailments that way. Haha. I like the idea of wheel chairs, crutches and being able to get physically hurt in the game.
I want actual stakes for getting sick. Literally, every time my sim doesn't feel well all I need to do is wait five minutes for the moodlet to go away or get drowned out by positive moodlets. Like, my creative sim gets over illnesses in five seconds because she'll suddenly get inspired
My mom mentioned that there really should be the occasional Sim going around in a wheelchair back when The Sims was the only game in the series. Shouldn't we have that by NOW?
here’s what I think for causes of broken bones, bruises, concussions, and cramps. (Of course fractures and some others would be perfect, I wanted to slim down)
Concusion-
Very Rare, fall off bike
Extremely rare, clumsy sim trips
Uncommon, fall while mountain climbing (Snowy Escape)
Broken Bones-
Falling off bike
Falling while mountain climbing (snowy escape, before the height where you die)
Very rare, when a clumsy sim falls over
Getting into a fight
Bruised-
Falling off bike
Clumsy sim falling (uncommon)
Being slapped silly
Getting into a fight
Falling from rock climbing (Fitness stuff pack, kind of rare)
Cramps-
Uncommon, when waking up as an elder
Uncommon, when standing up for a while as an elder
When a female sim becomes a teen (instantly has to “pee” as well)
Rare, from “sleeping in a bad position” (affects all ages)
Wheelchair- Lets the sim move around, based on if a leg or legs were broken, fractured, etc (All ages can have one)
The average black or gray wheelchair for teens-elders
A blue wheelchair for male child sims
A pink or purple wheelchair for female child sims
A light blue or green wheelchair with dinosaurs for male toddlers
And a light pink or turquoise wheelchair with butterflies for female toddlers
Casts- Casts will a appear on arms, if bruised, broken, fractured, etc. Leg casts will appear when injuries happen to the legs (not including cramps or bruises), if a sim is sitting on a chair, they won’t hold their crutches (wheelchair sims can sit on the couch or other chairs , but the wheelchair will be set to the side).
You can just choose from an assortment of colors for any age (Toddlers and Children can also have stickers), and you can have a friend or family member sign the cast, which will boost the friendship bar a lot.
Crutches- You can choose between wheelchairs or crutches (Wheelchairs are required if the sim is concussed)
Crutches will cause the sim to be a bit slower, but a wheelchair won’t get in the way of a sim’s path
If the sim is a child or toddler, they may need some assistance from a teen-elder, when they first get the crutches, and randomly
Random differences (White with gray accents for example) and different sizes
Wheelchairs, casts, and crutches will last based on the damage, and where it happened
Or going to the doctor, like we go to the vet, rather then just ordering medicine.

I am personally really excited about these scenerios thing! I always have trouble remembering and sticking to the rules of these challenges, but if the game itself wouldn't let me cheat and do something that's not allowed within these it would be a lot easier! Like, it would make my life a 100% easier, because I wouldn't have to stress about forgetting the rules or I wouldn't have to sit there with the rules open my phone and checking any minutes. I just have a hard time concentrating, so this would be a game changer to me :D

I'm also really excited by them! I've thought before that it would be nice if they added challenges but I never dreamed they actually would!
It's also nice that this way you actually get rewarded in game too. If you complete a scenario you get a lot of satisfaction points. Maybe even reward money or other things like hard to get items (ambrosia and so on). I have a feeling modders will be able to add to it as well just like we've always been able to.
I don't think it will quite work like that though (the not cheating thing). When they talked about the money scenario they also said you could use money cheats if you wanted and basically anyway you could earn 1 mil Simoleons is valid. But I definitely think following a structure by having the 'rules' and 'restrictions' for challenges actually in the game UI will be amazing! I highly doubt they will implement a way to 'fail' the scenario... this is the Sims 4 we're talking about... wouldn't surprise me if all the scenarios they add are so open ended and not really restricting your gameplay in the true challenge sense. I'm still excited to try it out, though!
Imagine if they add like the 100 baby challenge, that would be neat. Especially as there are so many rules for that it's easy to forget some of them haha
Can someone answer me this, though. They moved that toddler's hair to base game to be more inclusive so that people don't have to pay for a new pack just to have a hair. That's great. I'm fine with that. But then they make 20 different kit packs for different cultures. So it's fine for those cultures to be behind paywalls... but not that particular hair?
I agree with you and I will never in my life side with the Sims team BUT there's a difference between culture and looks. Being black is not a culture, it's just a skin color, same as having curly, coily or kinky hair, which is not tied to a particular country. Although I would love for different cultures not to be behind paywalls, I'd rather pay but have everyone with the base game be able to see themselves in the items available :) But I'm 100% with you though, paying for representation or for a cultural pack like Snowy Escape is not okay

It saddens me that the Sims is such a wholesome game and the developers try so hard to make it a nice experience for everyone, but yet some people are so incredibly mean and disgusting to them and other simmers. The franchise isn't perfect, it's ever changing and growing, but compared to most other games, this franchise has always been caring and inclusive. It's like simmers have been so emboldened to get what they want that they lack basic respect and kindness. To anyone, particularly the Latin community, who was disrespected in the stream on what was supposed to be a special day for you, please protect your energy. I appreciate it so much that The Sims tries so hard to involve other cultures and represent everyone, even though I'm white, but it's so nice to see other nationalities etc. represented and actually playable in the game, it adds so much to it and it must be so amazing for the people that are hispanic, asian, etc. , they deserve it so much. It makes me even sadder that some people are just totally disgusting and always waiting for other content they probably don't even appreciate. Part of the Sims Community is so toxic and constantly giving negative vibes, some people just constantly complain.
yeah, like i’m so confused why people think random developers and creators that don’t even work for maxis somehow control every single little thing they don’t like about the game. a massive free update doesn’t just happen, it needs to be okayed by much higher ups who aren’t on twitch or twitter or wherever else people are having tantrums.

Hair being pulled from paid DLC does not add more representation overall. For people who want more representation and already have the paid DLC they have not gotten any extra representation. EA made a mistake by not supplying enough base game hairs for adequate representation. They need to update that and it needs to be at their cost.

I think that’s a good way to look at it. I don’t understand the people complaining about it being “unfair.” It would be one thing if you paid for a whole pack, and then that whole pack became free/basegame, but we’re talking about individual elements of a whole pack. You should still be getting your money’s worth with the rest of the content that came from the pack, even if that one window or one hairstyle is now free.
Im more upset its not at least updated its just the same one. Like at least have different colors for the hair ties. What gets me is when they do reskins of items we already have.
I think they could do it better though because it leaves buying the pack as a black simmer just for gameplay. Recolor the beads with the swatches or make them braids instead of twist. The same style with braids is very popular, I wore it as a child. Still makes it different so you might buy it and get something. It’s taking representation from the packs if this continues.
I'd actually love them to integrate the legacy challenge or 100 baby challenge rules into the scenarios. It would make it so much easier to keep track of all the variables (how many babies/fathers, all the different traits, aspirations, etc for legacy...). It would make me more likely to do legacy challenges if I didn't need a separate spreadsheet to keep track of my points!

Cause legacy challenge is sooo complicated keeping multi tabs up constantly checking the rules is exaausting if they could set it up into the game so the game keeps you on track. rewards you for the bonus parts. even tracks your legacy points? cause you get legacy points for pictures of all your kids. stuff like that it would be so easy cause every time i start one i loose interest so fast just because its hard to keep upw tih

I would like it if they implemented some story telling aspects like in the "sims 2 life stories" game so it's like lightly guiding you down a story path and the ending is based on your choices.
I feel like the scenarios are geared toward newer players, who aren’t as plugged in to the community, which is cool. I hope some of them have really good rewards, rather than just satisfaction points.
Also like Plumbella said in her video about it, it's helpful that the game keeps track of challenges for you so you don't have to keep it all in your head.
It also confused me; I just hope kits aren't replacing the packs.

@@ElizaSimmer Honestly at this point there's not much they can do in terms of packs. So I think kits are going to just slowly take over, much like you said. I think Simsie was way off with saying Sims 5 is years away.. I'd say like 2022 we'll likely get some kind of announcement and it be out by like 2023 at the earliest.. I think EA by now have realized that everyone pretty much despises the gameplay of Sims 4 and they can't fix it without a massive change. So they're just cutting back on packs and releasing smaller kits while they move the team over.

I like how those scenarios are like little tutorials because when I first started playing the game I had absolutely no clue what to do and how to do it so I think this would be very helpful for the people who also struggle with making storylines or just playing the game
I’ve decided to stop looking at the twitch chat during any live streams and honestly started avoiding youtube comments and tweets. The Sims community for me has become so toxic and it’s always constant complaining. I’m convinced the Sims team could give us everything we’ve ever wanted and this community will still find a way to complain, it’s really sad to see. I can tell the Sims team is working so hard and listening to the community, I’m excited to see more about scenarios as well!

It basically means the challenges that a lot of players already do will be made official, which isn't a bad thing, just not necessary in comparison to what most players have been asking for. I'll wait for modders to make scenarios more interesting.
When I saw the “making money” scenario, I instantly thought of Stanley lol I’m invested! I LOVE that The Sims team is really digging in and showing up for their community. I LOVE The Sims on console and I have loads of ideas to keep myself playing. I do put it down when I feel like I’m obsessing but I really can’t help it, it’s SOOO good! 😂😂

something that Jesse pointed out in her video about the scenarios is that the challenges being in game makes it easier for more people to play, and she mentioned how its sometimes difficult to keep track of everything, which i didn't even realize is part of the reason i give up on so many saves after a little while

as a console player, whenever i wanna do rags to riches or anything like that, i have to enable mods and that takes away all my achievements that i could get so i’m excited about the scenarios
tbh i like the scenarios thing for two reasons: 1. i wonder what modders could do with it and 2.there are people who aren't really into sims cuz they don't know what to do there, need a challange, and this brings the game some structure that could be interesting for new players
Imagine if they made a legacy one that actually counted points for you and once you reach your final generation it shows your score and everything you accomplished
I think it would be awesome if they allowed Simmers to create their own scenarios and share them on the gallery. It would make doing things like Legacy Challenges so much easier since the game keeps the rules & restrictions right there for you.

Okay, I’m really excited for the scenarios/challenges they are adding. Because even tho “rags to riches” is one of the most popular challenges, and the rules are easy enough to follow and understand. I feel like this would make it easier to play and comprehend challenges like your not so berry challenge. It’s one of the challenges I’ve always wanted to try, but I’m never quite sure how to set it correctly and I feel like this would be an amazing way to help those of us who aren’t as familiar with more complicated challenges figure it out 😅
I'm so happy to see The Sims making lives with latin-american creators. I'm from Brazil and I'm always watching Marcio (aka MTsims), his buildings and series are so good (he built the house she showed as an example), he's one of my favorites simmers, just like Kayla. Also, he did one of yours shell challenges, and it came out pretty cute to me.

Really excited for the scenarios, I love challenges but the more detailed and intricate ones I have trouble setting up and remembering all the rules too so I'd love to see like legacy rules integrated into it or something similar.
OOOOOH! Since Stanley has gone through so many money making schemes, he knows which ways are the fastest way to get rich and you could do that with the $1M Scenario and Speed Run it!!! That would be fun to watch lol
What if they use Scenarios to integrate different life states into storyline gameplay? The game doesn’t care if other sims know that you’re an alien or a vampire, so it’s hard to keep it a secret for storytelling purposes. If they made it part of the challenge that only certain people can know and have the game track if you’re successful, then masquerading as a normal sim becomes a really important part of the gameplay. I think this could be a really great feature if done well
im personally a sims character maker when it comes to the game i love making new sims and putting them on the gallary for people to use, so when it comes to kits- i like them it varrys my clothing and evens out the cultures and stuff, but.. playing with them gets boring because.. well its the same thing, i love the scenario idea, it seems like so much fun and kinda helpful to get back into the game once its gotten dull.
yeah it's really nice that they're trying to get more culture by making more things available in the base game, but if they're adding stuff from packs and now industrial loft, its kinda lame for the people who bought that pack and now that asset that they had available to put in the pack was wasted.

I feel like scenarios are testing the grounds for how to integrate live social engagement into the sims . Something like this, in my opinion, is VASTLY preferable to other options and fits nicely with how people already play without being intrusive.
I really felt for the developers trying to be live streamers - that was a tough one.
OMG!! The scenarios would be soooo cool if it developed into the gameplay while playing with a sim family. Like, you had a save where your sim was all of a sudden cheated on (not planned) and then the option popped up for you to break up with that sim and choose if you wanted to play with the scenario to find love after being cheated on! Kind of like the option to like or dislike something when the pop-up comes up, but it would give more in depth gameplay. I would love that and hopefully that would be incorporated later if not this time around. The new scenarios sound like a fun new addition! I'm excited to see what they are all about :)

Scenarios sound like a great idea as long as we can do them in pre existing saves (I've heard that this won't be an option in the official release?). I'm actually really excited to see those, I feel like that could be the start of them adding more optional difficulty to the game. I'd love to have more bumps in the road and things that are actually challenging. If they're adding potential for that then I'm excited. Planet Zoo's career mode sounds like Zoo Tycoon's campaign mode, which I've always loved! Modded scenarios would be incredible.
I dont think the solution at this gender issue text is to change the text, but allow to change the gender on which you want those text to reflect on your sims. Because some languages are really focus on gender, unlike english, so it would just make thing easier for them just building a tool inside CAS instead of changing all text box for more neutral (if it exist) words/adjectives etc... With the name of our sims replacing some pronouns, it already made some language text for french as instance very wacky or weird to the ears because it's not the way people talk or learned to write (the language is just not built like that), but rather a forced pronouns replacement in text, and it makes it harder to read.
Litteraly everything as a gender in french and there are no gender neutral way to conjugate adjectives etc... And this is just one language...
I guess, as a nb person who speaks french, that they’d use things like “ iel a mangé(e)” or customize it like “il a mangée”?
@@lenl8004 nb... i mean thats complicated because you would think that sometime they feel more like male, sometime more like female but i dont think mosy languagr were supporting this new self categorization. Its very hard to understand right what those people live inside and how to accomodate without havimg to change or add extensive amount of things for a so small percentage of people. How to adapt to it imo is to keep what we had for centuries and add something to it instead of modifying it. Although how would yhey do it with languages... this is rather confusing since the sole idea of conjuging adjectives and verbs is from the two base genders, male and female. Thats why i say ay least having a switch tp change the pronoun choice for the dialogues box would help some but i dont know for those who think they are nothing basically... like your body must have something morr in common to one sex? and or your mind and then this become more you than the other sex? Help me here! :s
If they keep pulling items out of packs for representation then the packs will have no representation so either way something will be lacking. I think the best solution is to make more content.
Yes make the twist into braids and change the bead swatches. Now if we buy the pack it’s only for gameplay. Braids in the same style is very popular and it would be nice to have both if you play with families a lot. Still has value.

i really like the scenarios tbh, like starting a challenge sometimes starts with a lot of setup before you can start playing so this seems fun so far. PLUS it'd be sick if you could customize your own scenarios and share those with others to try?
Pre-recording and subtitling like you mentioned sounds like a great idea! I speak English as my second language, and although I'm completely fluent now I would definitely have needed subtitles as a kid, because picking up on a language you're not super great at just by ear is quite difficult.
I have a feeling "limited content" might mean things like the t-shirts that were only unlockable at the summer of sims music festival, and other things like that. Like special event stuff

Ty for mentioning the 'bad' comments during the stream. There are many disrespectful people everywhere and i kinda lost interest in twitch and insta/twitter due to it... it's actually just sad. The thing i always liked about twitch was the chat and the direct interaction with the community and the streamers. But with how many toxic people there are in so many chats and twitch is definitely not even the worst, it takes away the best part of those platforms. It has so much potential but people just use it to hate on everything they can 😕
Talking about the “career mode” made me think of older sims games, particularly Sims bustin out on GameCube that had a story type mode. I kind of wish we had that option to get inspiration for ways to play

I LOVE the idea of objective-driven gameplay in the sims and challenges are a lot of fun, but I have trouble actually completing challenges because I often forget rules, accidentally break them, and then feel like I have to start over because I "cheated." It sounds silly to say out loud, but it's really discouraging.
So, I think scenarios will be really good for me and how I like to play.

I think the challenges are a good way to introduce those ideas to a broader specter of players. Most hardcore simmers think everyone plays with mods or is active in the community, and thats simply not true! So many people just play the game "plain" and that way they can now have new ideas. Once I mentioned the toddlers challenge to a friend and she was THIS IS GENIUS I LOVE IT. She doesn't use cc or mods (or even cheat codes other than the basic ones!). So I'm into that.
Kayla I really love that you feel very strongly about really showing up for the disabled Sims community members. EA could be doing a lot more after four games to represent various disabilities and the variety of experiences people live every day but it sounds like the ball is rolling for real now that they've acknowledged the petition. I think it's cool that you never give up on making video gaming fun and accessible for everyone, you're helping people break down the barriers they face to do something that should be enjoyable but often (especially when online play is concerned) isn't.

I like the idea of Scenarios, as in, it is interesting and it could inspire a new way to play, which is always cool. My problem with the latest Sims stuff is that they seem to be trying to please a specific part of the community (namely, the "builders" with all the kits, the latest game pack and stuff packs), but not ALL of the community. It makes sense, of course, to create content to such a large part of their community, but as someone who play the Sims for the storytelling aspect, and for the gameplay, I truly feel left out. When Gameplay Kits were announced I was so excited to maybe get something tailored for my gaming style, but then that also just got forgotten. It is also only fair that they would include farming in the game now that farming simmulators are so popular, but that, again, is focusing on a trend rather than their players. Again, that is understandable. The Sims is a company and they have to SELL. But I can't help but to get frustrated with everything they announce.
With that said tho, I love the game and nothing can't take away the joy it has brought me. The content released is objectively good (most of the time), and the effort they are making to include people from different backgrounds into the game is an amazing start to a bright future. I, as someone who doesn't particularly enjoy building in the sims, would like to have more contentet tailored to my style, as I'm sure a lot of people would too. Call me bitter, but I would very much appreciate more substance to my game.

I played the sims since Sims 2, but only became aware of challenges like rags to riches or 100 babies once I became more involved in the community during Covid. I agree that having it in the game will introduce this style of gameplay to a ton of people who've never heard of it before!
SDX is something that lots of other games already have. Basically, it's a data change that they can push out without making a real change to the game. For example, in a Battle Royale game, let's say that a weapon is broken and does way too much damage, the developers could disable that weapon so that no new matches will have the weapon in the game. So in the sims, they could probably update the color swatch to an item, decrease the payout on a job, or even add a new social event.
The big benefit to this means it doesn't need to patch on consoles. Any patch on consoles requires coordinating with Microsoft & Sony so they can't just push something out whenever they want like they can on PC.
