I only discovered them within the last year or two off of a spotify 'sounds like song radio' thingy. Bittersweet instantly made me dig them. Stellar band.
Very underrated band as is his guitar works. Runaway Train , Sister Sweetly , Resignation Superman , Dirty Juice , Beautiful World , Blue Sky so much great works from this band
Todd Park Mohr was a major influence of my guitar growing up, very soulful player and amazing singer / songwriter. This band has paid their dues and written some timeless classic tunes.
BHTM has a big following out west especially in Colorado. My buddies and I along with our wives used to take vacations to go watch this band whenever they were within 6 hours of the Northern Kentucky area. They never disappointed.
Wow. Just wow. The timing on this vid drop is insane. I lost my girlfriend in an auto accident, and next month it’ll be 21 years. She absolutely loved this song and introduced me to this band. You dropping this vid on Valentine’s Day just hits home, as the lyrics took on an entirely new meaning to me after her passing. Thank you sir, you just made my day!
Met my son's mother on St. Valentine's Day 1984... She passed away several years ago, February 14th has never been the same. She would've loved These guys...
Feel like they hit right at the same time as DMB who basically hit so big that no one could keep up. I can distinctly remember telling someone that this little band called DMB would never be as big as BHTM. Love them both.
Saw them in Atlanta at a pretty small venue called Buckhead theater. They rock. Crazy they’re not bigger. Bittersweet always puts me in a good mood. And this whole red rocks show was Amazing.
Michael, you have become my favorite sub on You Tube. You repeatedly demonstrate your insightful musical analysis and like us, your appreciation of great tunes, regardless of the genre. I love that you constantly acknowledge your unfamiliarity with bands both old and new ( think Bahamas). Your enthusiasm is real and so fun to watch. Just wanted you to know that you are appreciated. Keep up the good work. Cheers
Love it. Fun to see a favorite song studied like this. Thanks. My wife and I were in the 4th or 5th row at this 08 show. Incredible long concert. Gorgeous weather. They're always killer at RR and Hazel was in top form. Had a horn section backing them up. They put the whole show on YT. Worth checking out.
This reminds me of my best friend. Joe is a pretty good musician who I have listened to since...around 91 or 92. I miss that man since I moved down here to northern Texas from southern Illinois.
Good job I’ve seen big head Todd and the monsters in a blues bar in Houston Texas in the 90s he was fantastic I always get that Hawaii blues vibe from their music!!!👊
My number 1 band of all time. I’m a drum enthusiast and so I have no idea what you’re talking about with scales and chords, yet I’m riveted to your breakdown. I can’t specifically articulate why I like the songs, but I just known I do. Oh, and also I love Brian Nevin’s drumming, a key component to the overall sound. I love that you gave them some love, thanks.
Bittersweet is a great song and put this band on the map. I haven't listened to them in a long while, but their Beautiful World album was my favorite from them. I liked it because they branched out a bit from their normal sound. It was more experimental.
BIg Head Todd is great! So many cool tunes. He obviously has Hendrix and SRV influences but hes a predecessor to Mayer, who I think sounds like Todd Park Mohr a little bit. Interesting connection, at least for me.
I used to see these guys at Fort Collins and Boulder house parties back in the 90's, before they got discovered. Great band and still putting out new material.
I don't know how often Michael reads and responds to comments on his YT videos, but I will say this, I feel like he's given me a new perspective on how really to LISTEN to music and not just hear it. Not to mention all the new music watching these videos has turned me on to, case in point: Big Head Todd and the Monsters. Thank you, Michael.
I need to listen to some more Big Head Todd. Saw them back in the day on the very first H.O.R.D.E tour. "Kissing My Love" came up on my Spotify "Discover Weekly" a few years ago and funkin' blew me away. Kept thinking it reminded me of a Bill Withers song. Then, I looked it up and found out it IS a Bill Withers song! LOL!
Coming at yah, like Cleopatra! Here is a Ween song for yah that breaks away from what you have heard: Ween - The Argus Live in Chicago Or maybe something more tender and acoustic like: Ween - Tender Situation 02/21/2002
He's got a voice like Elliot Lurie from Looking Glass, but can definitely hear some Randy Newman. The song reminds me of a 70's era song but just can't place it.
Big Head Todd is a great band that unfortunately flies under most peoples radar. Thanks for picking this for a reaction video!
I only discovered them within the last year or two off of a spotify 'sounds like song radio' thingy. Bittersweet instantly made me dig them. Stellar band.
not mine1 love em for years

Thank you, Thank you, Micheal!! Loved BHTM for so long. Local heroes in Denver/Boulder. Can’t wait to watch!
This seems like a band you would really dig. Been following them forever. Shows are always fun. Todd is an incredible singer and musician.
Dude!!! Thank you so much for reviewing this! Hopefully, you take a little step into Big Head Todd! Love it!!

I'm so sorry for your loss, but happy this song brings you good memories. The healing power of music! Blessings.
Much love to you Stymie

So sorry to hear man. Much love ❤️
It’s the little hints in life that make ya think. Hope you’re doing well buddy
Ive loved this song for so long. Particularly this version.
FINALLYYYYYY. I've been commenting for a minute now that you gotta do a BHTM . So happy 😊 bittersweet at this concert was even better. Thanks Mike!
Love Big Head Todd….incredible sound…
Always a Favorite
Todd, is a Smooth Soloist only From the Heart. I am Blessed to have caught Live Shows a Few times.
I've seen BHTM so many times I've lost count. One of my all-time favorites and is right near the top of my "Why aren't these Guys a Bigger Act" list.
Yep
Agreed
Feel like they hit right at the same time as DMB who basically hit so big that no one could keep up. I can distinctly remember telling someone that this little band called DMB would never be as big as BHTM. Love them both.
Our little secret! Can't get enough of BHTM.
Well said and I'm in the same spot. I'm somewhere close to 30 shows now I think. Can never get enough!
Saw them in Atlanta at a pretty small venue called Buckhead theater. They rock. Crazy they’re not bigger. Bittersweet always puts me in a good mood. And this whole red rocks show was Amazing.
Always thought this group was too good to be super famous. So real and so well played is their music.
I'd never heard of these guys before, thank you yet again for expanding my musical appreciation and I immediately picked up my guitar to learn it.
One of my favorite sets of all time!

I second this :)
I did not expect his voice to sound like that. Awesome song!

I helped make the session drum set that the drummer uses. Made in Boulder, Colorado. Tribes drums!
My favorite Big Head Todd songs are 'Please Don't Tell Her', 'Broken Hearted Saviour' and of course 'It's Alright'.
I was listening to them in the mid-1980s! Thanks for this!
They are one of my all time favorites. Saw them in ‘96 at the 9:30 club, same line up including Isabel. Front row, great memories!! Thanks!
Never heard this band. Cracking singer and groove. Going to Check them out. Thanks !
Follow BHTM all over the world. Greatest guys ever and damn good musicians! Todd Park Mohr is a guitar genius. 🎸
Blues jazz fusion with funk. Big head todd guitarists is brilliant.
This band is so amazing!
Love me some Todd and Hazel

Always an education when I watch one of your reaction video! Thanks so much, keep up the excellent work!

I see Red Rocks in your future MP - October to be exact

It comes off even more so like Robert Cray with that in-between position strat sound. Even the vocals are like Robert Cray if he spent time in Hawaii
That's a good call/comparison
GOOD ONE MICHAEL! REALLY GOOD!... Love these Guys!
I forgot about how fucking awesome these guys are.
I used to see these guys at Fort Collins and Boulder house parties back in the 90's, before they got discovered.
Great band and still putting out new material.
I love this band!
You gotta check out their song "tomorrow never comes" alone in a dark room with headphones.
Yes!!! Love the eeriness of that song. So good.
Nice!! 🎸🔥🔥
Love Big Head Todd... saw them several times back in the day.
Good stuff as always, Michael!
I don't know how often Michael reads and responds to comments on his YT videos, but I will say this, I feel like he's given me a new perspective on how really to LISTEN to music and not just hear it.

Thank you, Michael.
Michael is a champion and has replied to me so he definitely does read and respond when he can.
Seeing BHT&TM 4/30 @ Tipitina's! Great review, thanks!🙌🏻
Saw them open up for Hootie (!) back in mid-nineties. Sister Sweetly was one of those albums that everyone I knew owned and jammed at college parties.
it was just too short i was having a blast. must rewind and have a great time
You should check out Bittersweet from the same concert. Really cool solo. Would love to see you break it down.
What a great band! I do think there are several song from them that are much more interesting.
Bittersweet is my favorite of BHT, great video!
Young Todd would just shred. Saw them early 90s with Widespread Panic in a small venue and he went through several guitars.
Wonder if they ever cover Brandy live.
Yes they do. They are a great live band.
Love BHTM! If you’ve never heard them, go check them out now!
How are you enjoying the new guitar and the color?
I had a friend named Todd with a big head.

It’s like Sugaree with the chords rearranged.
The Randy Newman comparison. Wow. Never ever considered it, but yeah, you're right.
Very cool shit. I likey.
