Major Hologram Technology Breakthrough

- Scientists have recently developed a new type of hologram technology using beads that have levitated using sound [1-3]. While similar levitation technologies have been demonstrated this goes above and beyond previous demonstrations by adapting for various environments. Normally objects that are in the same space as the levitated object interferes with the levitation. In this recent work, they have been able to demonstrate that they can overcome this issue by computing the required correction. This has led to unique control of these levitated beads through and around objects.
Combining this levitation with light can form new and very interesting holograms. While still quite simple this type of hologram could eventually become the norm. They have performed some very interesting demonstrations of this technique [4-6] which are worth checking out.

Still remember we did a levitating metal ball using an electro magnet and a light source shining on to a detector. The ball was in the light path hence the light level was used to set the current for the magnet. The result was a self correcting system where the ball would float if placed very careful.

You can have equal gravitational forces but this does require a mass the same size.
