I think its ridiculous that if you want to use electric pokemon you have to settle for ones 200-300 cp below the slowbros, laprases, and gyradoses that they counter AMPHAROS WHEN
yes but if a 1300 slowbro with watergun and ice beam (not stab) easily beats a 1700 dragonite while not dodging and still keep half of its health then i see a problem
What? I love using jolteon against gyarados. Even electabuzz can do well against 500 or more higher cps. Need to dodge well tho. I also love the skill effects so I enjoy using them alot.
I have to agree about Alakazam. I can understand if they make Onix or Scyther weak because they can still make up for it by making their 2nd gen evolution very strong, but Alakazam is a third evolution Pokemon and it was always a BIG DEAL to get one in the other games. Sometimes it feels like Niantic used "Confusion" on our common sense.
I mostly agree to what he said in the video. faster pokemon need some bosting in this game. But the whole speed thing would also make stuff like sandslash, rhydon and so forth worse. And they are far from top level pokemon to begin with. So I must admit I'm a bit uncertain what would be best to do
Actually Scyther would get a buff from it not as huge as Jolteon would but Scyther lies in the 105 base stat in speed(according to bulbapedia) and Jolteon is 130 in speed base stat
+Pirateking Monkey D. Luffy Trust me, they were beast in gen 1. Alakazam was the best non-legendary Pokémon back then. (Partly due to psychic type being ridiculously op back then)
Yeah! I found out how high Onix could go. I knew his stats kind of sucked, but didn't k now his CP only went to 800 something... I don't even know with that one. He was one of the strongest gen 1 playing cards and strong in the gen 1 games and beyond too...
The amount of work that Nick puts into not only his videos but his analysis is just phenomenal. And thats why this is one of the best channels on youtube, not just about pokemon.
100% agree mate, his videos are detailed, well structured and completely logical. I hope Niantic take him infinitely more serious then these other UA-camrs posting Pokemon go...
When I battled a gym with a flying pokemon it fainted by an earthquake , how is it even possible?! it's not supposed to affect it at all, battling in pokemon go really sucks!
nerfing snorlax is good, because they are fucking everywhere and its annoying you can put your snorlax in a gym still, but don't cry when a faster Pokemon destroys you
Snorlax would still be a good defender, and his duel ability ranking is still among the top 5. He only loses power as a purely offensive Pokémon. In truth, he could still beat Alakazam and Gengar if they couldn't dodge well.
I agree 100% with everything you said. I have been thinking this since I started playing. I always liked a lot of the faster pokemon and wondered why Niantic had to make them so useless in a real time game. Unfortunately, Niantic doesn't really know pokemon or even game design that well. They are more of a business trying to create games, and now trying to create a pokemon themed game, than they are a game company. Maybe they will get there someday. In my opinion, they should hire someone like you who is clearly more knowledgeable in these things than they are.
Things I think need to change in Pokemon Go: If you catch an evolution (for example wartorlte instead of squirtle) I feel like you should get more candy and/or stardust from catching that pokemon in comparison to the pre-evolution. Right now it's more difficult to catch evolutions but there's imo no point in catching them, I'd rather just evolve the pre-evolution and get the extra xp using a lucky egg. If you attack your own gym, or your pokemon in a gym gets defeated, your pokemon shouldn't faint (this was the case when the game was released). Now I'm out of revives all the time. I personally feel like 10 km eggs are too rare. In 8 weeks of playing the game I've only gotten 4 10 km eggs, that is out of 82 eggs in total. I like the idea of the medals (jogger/breeder/collector etc) but I feel like you should get something for these achievements, some xp for example.
I got a lot of 10k eggs... but I believe it's because I burned through eggs for a while by constantly being on my bike. My complaint is that I can't hold a gym. I want to just park a pokemon and hold a gym, but that's what the game is about, I suppose. Some time today I have to go out and fight for my favourite gym again.
Yea I do feel gyms are really difficult to hold down, especially when you're playing by yourself. Today was the first time when a pokemon of mine had lasted on a gym for a day. But it was because it was already a level 7 gym and I joined by raising it's xp, and my pokemon was number 4 on the gym, meaning three pokemon were weaker than mine.
yes! just thinking this. I think there should also be a limit to how long you hold a gym. reason I say this is because all the gums by my house are being held by accounts that shouldn't exist, ie at a level that isn't possible yet. my brother and I have reported it but nothing has been done yet.
AGREE. AGREE. AGREE. AGREE. AGREE. Can't wait to see more suggestions from you to Niantic. You really represent almost all fair play player of this game. I don't agree that Niantic should hire you, but they really have to pay attention to your channel for their improvement of the game. Your channel, SliphRoad, and other researcher should not work with Niantic, it's better that all of you still as who you are cuz it shows how great the community of this game. Keep making awesome videos dude! Do collaboration video with SliphRoad and other researcher also with other pokemon go channel like Mystic7, MasterOv, AliA, Lachlan, Vikkstar123, etc.
BrianShaggy074 i don't give a f*ck about that "cringe" words that overused these days, but as a youtuber, he has to spread his relation. that's good for his and their channel. he can share his knowledge to make them, and they can also gain this channel view cuz it deserve more viewer and subscriber. your comment with that cringy thing makes me cringe and absolutely has no respect to you. *micdrop*
***** i get that, he and their channel is absolutely different type, and that's why it's perfect to do collab. the main topic is the same, about pokemon go. they are more in the entertainment side, and this channel is more to the educational side. they need more knowledge and information, this channel need more views. it's a win-win option. and who knows maybe in long terms, they can create a great community/committee that represent all player. researcher and vlogger need to join forces to make a bigger cause and take Niantic attention so they pay more attention to our suggestions about the game issues, how to fix that and improve our gaming experience. it's stupid to make a boundaries about who should be their colleague when they have the same passion. unity by respecting the differences is better. people have their own plus and minus, good at one thing, lack on the other thing, that's why unity is needed to fill those lack, and improve the good. i hope u understand what i mean. sorry if my english is not good enough.
YES! It is official! Niantic is about to change the formula! "Some Pokémon, such as Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar will have their CP increased." Maybe they listen to you Nick finally ^^
Most of the game's features right now are trash man haha. I'll give it until Sun and Moon are released. If no significant improvement, hello Mustache Raticate and goodbye Pokemon Go lol
I love the idea of you posting these very popular videos suggesting changes to the game. Your channel gives you a platform that allows you to help influence this game's future. Your voice is bigger than mine, so keep doing what you're doing dude.
I LOVE your ideas to fix how speed is implemented. The design is already really fleshed out, makes a lot of sense, is flavorful as all bananas, and sounds like it would it add LOTS of nuance and character into the game. Love it! Keep on keeping on!
Hey Trainer Tips, I gave you a nice little shoutout on my video called "Pokemon GO | It doesn't make sense!". Chiken already checked it out and said am going somewhere with my channel but I don't think he got in touch with you about it. I highly down you have time to read this. But if you have the time to check out at least some of my video that would be great! Chiken said it was good, so you can expect it to be good. I bet your editing or filming right now, but I just felt the need to tell you! Train on!!
Keep it up! I LOVE these theorycraft videos, and I also hope that Niantic listens and incorporates some of our, the players, ideas into the game. Case in point: I finally got a Snorlax a few weeks ago that has Lick, and i find it hilarious that such a large, characteristically slow Pokémon bounces up and down so fast as it attacks as fast as a Vaporeon with Watergun. Your speed modifier would reduce that to something more fitting for what it is supposed to be... lumbering. Also, Cassie should interrupt you any time with awesome finds! It's part of the adventure!
There is no strong electric Pokemon in Go. Trust me, I know. I have 143 in pokedex with a 1400 Raichu but it's HP is so low that it made me cry when I considered how many hours I spent finding Pikachu to evolve him....
Way over my head, but I appreciate your dedication to the game. I agree that speed modifiers would make an interesting addition. Keep up the good work. I'm now watching your VLOG right after Casey's. That's pretty good company to keep. 👍🏼
Niantic is far too arrogant to ever admit this guy is correct. Hanke has a serious issue with pride and believing his way is the only way. They clearly have an issue with the community trying to support the game and accepting feedback. This explains why Niantic has hardly tried to communicate. Ingress players have pretty much said Niantic could care less about the community and they will do whatever they want.
1. Buddy system: 1km = 1 candy, and each gym owned = 1 candy 2. Balance pokemon 3. Make gym fun 4. Chatroom or forum with Team, organise pokemon hunting and gym crashing 5. Friends list: to see location of friends/level/etc.. also help to monitor weird fluctuations
Thank you, holy hell. I am holding on to my jolteons, this is way better if it was actually implimented. This will test if Niantic is going to come back as a game company or if they will just continue to suck.
Excellent video Nick! The second speed modifier idea is great and i would love to see it in the future of Pokemon Go, I'm sure that a lot of people also share your Pokemon World Dream as I do
pokemon go is dying, main reason is, it's not close enough to the original games, no P2P battles, you do not train your pokemon, Gym battles are kinda boring, there is no incentive to battle (well, except for coins, but that's not really rewarding.) Also rare pokemon don't spawn often enough to justify candy requirements on evolution, powering up your pokemons is not feasable because to expensive in stardust.... anyway, my main disappointment is the inability to train&raise your pokemon as it should be. And I guess that feature is what would add longtime satisfaction for players. Also, there is no real strategic and faction binding element in the game, as there is in Ingress. Imho ARG need to have a community element, it's totally missing from pokemon go. You can raid some gyms, but again, not really rewarding.
Rare pokemon don't spawn often enough? Seriously, they are supposed to be rare, theres already too much players with dragonites, charizards etc. And you want more...
There's already too many people with Dragonites and Charizards cuz if people aren't living in cities where starters/Dratinis are common, they're GPS spoofing to be at places where they are. Everyone apparently has a Dragonite around here, but I haven't seen a Dratini in several local towns in over 2 weeks, and only had a glimpse of a Dragonite on my Sightings a week ago, first one I've ever seen ANYWHERE since the game released, even when looking at Pokevision. But the biggest cities over 2 hours driving from me (Harrisburg, Reading, Philly) have TONS of Dratini nests. I WONDE- No I don't wonder they're fucking cheating and they're camping out in Harrisburg. Case closed. To compare with the other "strong" Pokemon, there's less people with the runner-up Snorlax (which I caught 2 of myself in the same area within a month of each other, so fairly common for a rare pokemon in the sticks) then there are the BEST POKEMON IN THE GAME. There are also only like 2 people I saw that owned an Arcanine, and Growlithe is WAY more common than a Dratini around here. Also, these aren't some basic-strength Dragonites, I only saw one I think is legit (a 1,200 Dragonite, pretty wimpy and possibly wild-caught or a weak evolved Dragonair). The rest of them were 2k+. But I guess all these guys were just lucky. This is what happens when only a select few Pokemon out of HUNDREDS is cream of the crop regardless of type, stats, or even gameplay (DODGES TAKE DAMAGE? BS!). People are going to cheat and have one. I'd be okay with it if it was just to have, but they're plopping down their ill-gained pokemon at Gyms and Niantic's paying them 10 cents per pokemon a day in free coins. I ran out of potions trying to kick them out, and what's the point when they're just gonna roll up their powerhouse Dragonite and boot me out immediately anyway. I'd be an EXP battery for em. Gee, wish my Ipod had a GPS to spoof. These guys are getting off scot-free.
+ArmoredChocobo that's what im saying. i live in the mountains where is 0 dratini and i have to drive 2 hour to get them. i guess is better to cheat in order to compete with this guys that don't understand what im saying.
*Mathematics of why speed is a bad stat* When compared with attack and special attack, speed plays a very limited role. Same when compared directly with def and sp.def. This leads many people to conclude that speed is poorly balanced with the other stats in the game. There are three stats in the the game: goAtt, goDef and goHP. A pokemon's CP is goAtt*goDef^0.5*goHP^0.5; but CP is rather meaningless. The combat 'effectiveness' of a pokemon is proportional to goAtt*goDef*goHP. That determines how much damage he can deal before fainting. we also know this: (I will be using = signs as "proportional". There are many constants, but they aren't relevant because they apply in the same way to all pokemon, and we're trying to compare pokemon against each other. goAtt = att^0.5 * spa^0.5 + spe^0.5 goDef = def^0.5 *spdf^0.5 + spe^0.5 goHP = HP therefore, a pokemon's effectiveness will be the mutiplication of these three expressions. effectiveness = {(att*spa*def*spdf)^0.5 + (att*spa*spe)^0.5 + (def*spdf*spe)^0.5 + spe} * HP What can we gather from this? Well, assuming all other stats to be equal and stable; and 65. Let's run some calculations: effectiveness is directly proportional to HP, making HP the most overpowered stat. Doubling HP will double effectiveness. Increasing HP by 10% will increase effectiveness by 10%. Doubling att will increase effectiveness by 36%. Increasing att by 10% will increase effectiveness by 4.3%. The same is true of all other stats except speed and HP. It is disadvantageous to have points spread unevenly between att, def, spa and spdf. If two stats are improved, it doesn't matter which, the result is not distinguishable. improving att and spdef is similar to improving att and spa Doubling speed increases your effectiveness by 9.3%. Increasing speed by 10% increases your effectiveness by 1.1%. Here we can observe that speed is not balanced at all in the equations, but more importantly, that HP is significantly overvalued. On your thumbnail, there are some pokemon you consider too good and some pokemon you consider not good enough. Let's see where their HP stands in the original games in order to show that speed is just part of the problem. Vaporeon: 130 HP Lapras: 130 HP Exeggutor: 95 HP Snorlax: 160 HP alakazam: 55 HP gengar: 60 HP raichu: 60 HP jolteon: 65 HP Counterexamples (that are good despite their high speed or bad despite their low speed): Charizard: 78 HP, 100 speed. Somewhat strong. pidgeot: 83 HP, 101 speed. Somewhat strong. arcanine: 90 HP, 95 speed. Top tier. gyarados: 95 HP, 81 speed. Top tier. dragonite: 91 HP, 80 speed. Top tier khangaskan: 105 HP, 90 speed. Would be high tier if it had stab moves. tentacruel: 80 HP, 100 speed. High tier. onyx: 35 HP, 70 speed. Hypertrash tier. Overall, we can observe that speed doesn't always predict whether or not a Pokemon is going to be good. HP does is more efficiently. The solution isn't only to buff speed, the solution is to nerf HP as well.
Oh, he will get into the whole HP thing and how it does weigh too heavily on the Pokemon's stats too. This whole thing is a series where he has already done the math and pulled it all apart. Now, he's just giving up each troubled section and possible fix for that section allowing us to see the process of coming to a complete resolution from top to bottom. This wasn't a, This will fix everything, vid. This was a, this will better represent how Speed is important and how it affects each Mon differently.
This is a series and I'm pretty sure he will talk about HP. He was just making a point about speed just like the point he made yesterday with special attack.
I absolutely loved this video and love the content you put out Nick! As an avid Pokemon player of the main series game and Pokemon Go, I'd love to see Pokemon like Alakazam and Jolteon get a buff. This appeals to the diversity of the game and its longevity like you mentioned. Keep up the great work dude greetings from Australia!
Dipper Dugtrio isn't known as the trash pokemon, it is just a runnning joke about what is underneath dugtrio. Even though I don't think Dugtrio was ever really good, I think it still should be better than what it is in Pokemon Go
Hey man. I'm usually a lurker. But I've seen as throughout the release of this game, your view count and like counts has increased so much (specially after the recent choice to organize video type in the week) I just wanted to say I'm so happy, man. I see the hard work you put in and you really deserve it. And to be honest, it's still early, I see your creativity rocket taking you really far. It's nice to see the good shining from time to time, specially with how frequent the bad does. I know you don't do it for the praise, but I just had to really say something. Keep up the good work, dude.
Lol but the info he gives is good. If Niantic fixes the speed, we can finally see pokemon like Alakasam, Gengar, or even Jolteon benefit in battle based on speed since they were a glass cannon in the original games.
Arnold 1985 2 months later I know but... Electrode a glass cannon? Dugtrio a glass cannon? Dugtrio more so but not even an actual glass cannon at all. Glass for sure, but not much of a cannon. Electrode is hardly a glass cannon at all... Only Explosion would make him one, but then he would just be a suicide leas to HOPE to take out the enemies lead which I doubt would work as most people don't lead off with a glass cannon as it usually hurts you in the final moments.
PsychicSatyr Electrode had the highest base speed in the game back in gen 1 with 140. He ALWAYS went first unless stunned or the opponent had a speed boost. Speed dictated critical rate, which meant THUNDER would almost always crit.
this is such a good video! great suggestion and also thanks for the effort in showing us how it will all turn out with the speed mod :) real nice work.
You don't need to make your title all caps. I realize the goal is to grab people's attention but now it seems like every single youtuber is doing it thus ironically making it all look the same and nobody is standing out. Idk it just seems unnecessary. You can tell you really care about your videos and put a ton of effort in them. You also really seem to want to appear professional about the whole thing, which is great but making every video titled with all caps contrasts that imo. Just sharing my opinion is all, I'll still continue to watch and enjoy your videos regardless.
R U SRSLY COMPLAINING BOUT HIS TITLES?!?! DID U SEE OTHER TITLES?!? MEWTWO CAUGHT WITH MASTERBALL ISANE GLITCH LEGENDARY POKEMON HOW TO GET (GONE SEXUAL)
I'm at 8:22 and I'm thinking..... "why isn't this kid working for Niantic?" I've been watching your videos from day one of GO(well, day one of Go videos), and I have to say, Your the most down to earth cat with a Pokemon Go channel. I love it, keep up the good work man!
Nick, i want to ask you something. my nearest gym i always go to, but when ik press go and it shows the battle screen (without the pokémon). and it just doesn't want to load the pokémon. what do i do?
Then it wud be very easy to train n make ur pokemons beast and wud just beat the point of powering up with candies.. Also higher players will benefit more obviously.. N get ready for more gym u cant beat..
You've said this before bruh... Still a great channel though. Also I did get 200 xp when I spun 20 pokestops within 30min. Thought I'd let you know the bindings since you asked.
Impressive thinking, Nick! Speed was always important for me in the original games. Since you are creating different types of videos now, just an idea to name their categorie/serie on your channel, e.g. vlog, Q&A, game improvements? :) Cheers from Liverpool, England!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for trying to be positive, and still trying to effect what Niantic is doing with this game. i noticed i. another video you were talking about a subject and you could have obviously pointed out there faults or down fall with why they were makeing their decissions. but you didn't, you stayed positive and were calm and just pointed out how it pretained to the game alone. My point is, your not trying to get on there bad side, but you have very well spoken and dedicated videos, and it is good to see. And hopefully that action will make an impact on some of Niantics following and the company as they move forward with this Game. Also, i like what you did when you took off the watch..
Gengar and Alakazam are two beasts! They need to be recognised! So many good points made! The best PKMGO video's around! Congrats on nearly 500K!! Been here since 30!!
Alakazam and Gengar were my favorites in the original game boy game. I really hope Niantic fixes them and incorporates some sort of speed modifier!. I love this video, keep it up.
I totally agree with you Nick, on everything. I'm glad you made this video. I've asked for videos with your opinion about better updates and changes to gameplay; so it's awesome to see you doing it! I feel like Niantic definitely listens in to this channel. Everyone knows that this is the go to channel for the most dedicated Pokemon Go players/fans, where factual in-depth discussions about the game happens. Nick, keep up the stellar work! Niantic, PAY ATTENTION!
Awesome video Nick! keep up the good work! in your videoes you dont sound too enthusiastic, but i like it because i know your not trying hard and faking to be excited and happy ALL THE TIME. you easily are the best pokemon go youtuber ever
Your videos are also sometimes kind of boring and make me feel like im in math class, but it doesnt really matter because the information u give us is so useful that it makes up for it
I love this and I think that it embodies what I envisioned in my childhood. I've grown up with these games and u have similar ideas for what I thought this game would be like. I love the game but think that there is alot of improvement that can be made to make the game more like the original series. thank u for your continued service to our community sir :)
Hey Nick, really nice the idea of this series! Congratulations! I think your opinions and game vision can help Niantic achieve the game's full potential in no time!
Oh god yes!!! Please keep it up, this needs to happen! My two favorite Pokémon Golduck and Houndoom NEED their speed to compete. I hope Niantic takes your advice sooner rather than later.
Like or never catch a rare Pokéman again
and what about reporting & disliking? will this spawn a legendary?
Really
No
Guys you have to like, this is being monitored by Niantic. just saying
i liked the video. :)
Hire him Niantic
this
they do need a good PR guy, who better than someone already massively supporting a community based around the game
W
Yeah they really should, he's a genious :D
W
I think its ridiculous that if you want to use electric pokemon you have to settle for ones 200-300 cp below the slowbros, laprases, and gyradoses that they counter
AMPHAROS WHEN
tru. still love my weak ass 1222 jolteon though.
My 1300 Raichu with tunder easily beats a 1700 cp gyarados so I'm not complaining
Louis Wouters i can beat two higher level pokemon with my jolteon if I dodge. Cant do it head on even if mine has thunder
yes but if a 1300 slowbro with watergun and ice beam (not stab) easily beats a 1700 dragonite while not dodging and still keep half of its health then i see a problem
Sometimes it feels like Niantic used "Confusion" on our common sense.
lol with that last sentence you earned my respect. i'm watching your vids as we speak and you just earned my s u b too
I agree I have a maxed out Alakazam and it sucks. Even my Clefable can withstand and attack more.
You would think with how much effort it takes to get one, Alakazam would be amazing.
Alakazam doesn't suck, you just need to strengthen the bond between you and your Pokémon and you will reach new heights you've never seen before!
Megaevolution.
Mega Gengar, Mega Alakazam= Sweepers
+Pirateking Monkey D. Luffy No. Bad. Don't do that. Mega Gyarados and Slowbro would become absolutely broken.
+Pirateking Monkey D. Luffy As would Mega Venusaur and Blastoise.
+TheTsugnawmi2010 I only meant that their Megas are Beast xD
+Pirateking Monkey D. Luffy Trust me, they were beast in gen 1. Alakazam was the best non-legendary Pokémon back then. (Partly due to psychic type being ridiculously op back then)
All I wanted was Gengar and Alakazam... Then I found out Niantic made them suck :((((
my favorite pokemon of all time
Right back at ya....same thing and same feelings here.!!!
U think Niantic ruined them? Fucking Onix at max cp doesnt even outcp a max cp Oddish. a fucking Oddish.
Haha right.!!! I forgot about him....there must be a reason behind these stuf...idk....
Yeah! I found out how high Onix could go. I knew his stats kind of sucked, but didn't k now his CP only went to 800 something... I don't even know with that one. He was one of the strongest gen 1 playing cards and strong in the gen 1 games and beyond too...
Roses are red
Violets are blue
alakazam sucks
more than sandshrew
nice
Truth.. Gengar too
than*
+aidan rivera thanks
+aidan rivera yeah...
Niantic better hire this guy. MAKE POKEMON GO GREAT AGAIN
it was never great
+BrianShaggy074 uuuuuuuuu burnnn lol 🔥
+BrianShaggy074 take this L
101% agree!!!
+BrianShaggy074 when it had tracking right it was 😢😢
Biggest problem in the game is the fact that anyone who doesn't live in a big city is short on pokestops. The game is not for everyone
I couldnt agree more! from the philippines
The amount of work that Nick puts into not only his videos but his analysis is just phenomenal. And thats why this is one of the best channels on youtube, not just about pokemon.
Yup. Correct.
I also wonder why Niantic hasn't contacted him at all. He is smarter than them at their own game.
100% agree mate, his videos are detailed, well structured and completely logical. I hope Niantic take him infinitely more serious then these other UA-camrs posting Pokemon go...
Possibly not, we just have a hardcore mentality over a casual game.
Too much math for me, I'll just mash my buttons.
Truth!
same here
b-b-b-but strategy
ImageSounds strategy in a faulty gym dynamic? Lol
so you think the game will stay the same like forever? things will eventually be improved, like on every game lol
When I battled a gym with a flying pokemon it fainted by an earthquake , how is it even possible?! it's not supposed to affect it at all, battling in pokemon go really sucks!
IKR !!! XD
WOW!! Was about to say this too!
Pidgeot and Golbat got fainted by Snorlax's earthquake move! Unfathomable!!
But, but... This would nerf Snorlax... And I just got my first one yesterday... 😂😂
nerfing snorlax is good, because they are fucking everywhere and its annoying
you can put your snorlax in a gym still, but don't cry when a faster Pokemon destroys you
+Max Bray Yeah. I was so excited when I got it, but now it might suck. Oh well, at least I'm three candies off from a Raichu.
Snorlax would still be a good defender, and his duel ability ranking is still among the top 5. He only loses power as a purely offensive Pokémon. In truth, he could still beat Alakazam and Gengar if they couldn't dodge well.
+Trainer Tips hey
+Trainer Tips have a good day, and keep up these good videos
So how do we get Niantic to see this?
twitter mass post?
+Felipe C yes
Also 13 second reply
+Felipe C Let's do it!
he can put @niantic in title so when people like the video it sends straight to niantic
+King Vega02 wouldn't that only effect google+?
Everyone should send the link to this video to niantic
twitter
YES!
Mindless Program ok
a
ad
I totally thought you were going to say, "I want this game to be the very best, like no one ever was," haha.
lol
doest make sense
+cold hunter it's from the theme song
+Tony Bamanoboni hes a young dingaling
to catch them is your real test, and to train them is your cause.
Jolteon ties with Aerodactyl for THE highest base speed stat.
+Limonka90 Don't forget Electrode - 140 base, but never had the other stats or moves to back it up.
True true, forgot that one. But yeah largely forgotten about. As generations moved on, only Jolteon and Aerodactyl remained relevant for their speed.
yah electrode is the fastest but gengar is faster than jolteon and Aerpdactyl with a high enough special attack to back it up
gengar is slower with base 110 speed in the main series games. Jolt and aero both have 130 base speed.
Rush Nebula
Gengar is slower than Jolteon and Aerodactyl.
Things I think need to change in Pokemon Go:
If you catch an evolution (for example wartorlte instead of squirtle) I feel like you should get more candy and/or stardust from catching that pokemon in comparison to the pre-evolution.
Defiantly agree it would be nice to earn extra candies and dust for catching evolves. Also I have been running out of revives to!
Lvl 19 almost. 20 but IVE NEVER GOTTEN A GOD DAMN 10K EGG
yes! just thinking this.
Do collaboration video with SliphRoad and other researcher also with other pokemon go channel like Mystic7, MasterOv, AliA, Lachlan, Vikkstar123, etc.
the fact that you mentioned he should collab with cringy ass UA-camr made me loose all respect
*micdrop*
+BrianShaggy074 *lose
BrianShaggy074 i fucked great and awesome girls, not bitches. obviously better than your bitches. :) *micdrop twice*
But, this is smart. So Niantic will never do it.
It's funny how Alakazam is one of the best pokemon in the UU Tier, but in pokemon go it's absolutely trash.
Gengar really good Sweeper and shit in Pokémon Go
Alakazam was a god in gen 1.
+Pirateking Monkey D. Luffy Mugiwara
I know right
what alakazam does was just bending spoons, okay.
I feel like I'm im Math again
in**
I just left from my math class and I'm back again
Hi Math !
That is why you have math in the first place. lmao
Rather than reshuffling Pokémon, just incorporate status conditions like Poison, Paralysis, etc.
Why not both.
I don't think battles last long enough, the status condition moves there though would be better for defending. Mixed emotions on this one
ManyHands92 some of these battles last longer than in the original games.
Do you remember bind? I loved bind
+Reptilistic lol that's why I loved it
Yo girl's chin is a weapon of mass destruction
💀💀 chill bro lol
Lol
bro savage but true
this made me chuckle a little
Cmon man have some respect...
If you don't have anything good to say just don't.
How come there's so many bots posting stupid Pokemon "hack" links smh
because there are people dumb enough to keep giving the traffic.
A lot of kids that dont even know how that works watch this videos
At leat the people falling for it are the same people willing to cheat, kinda a natural punishment...
uh click this suspicious link for some hackes: somefakeasswebsite. com
YES! It is official! Niantic is about to change the formula!
"Some Pokémon, such as Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar will have their CP increased."
Maybe they listen to you Nick finally ^^
Rhydon already has a high cp
Basically the Candy system is trash imo
yup
So is the stardust...and the gym, and the eggs. The entire thing is trash. But it's a reason to go outside.
They should've kept the lvl system
Should be able to get more candies for 1st or 2nd stage pokemon :/
Most of the game's features right now are trash man haha. I'll give it until Sun and Moon are released. If no significant improvement, hello Mustache Raticate and goodbye Pokemon Go lol
Im fed up of bots!
#NoMoreBots
Bots give this game life
Hey, I just found a website to get free PokeCoins! The website is www . fuckabotinthebutt. Com
+Robert Caban lmao
YEES!!!
they do an ok job and banning bots. it's gps spoofers that are hard to detect and they get away with it all the time :(
I love the idea of you posting these very popular videos suggesting changes to the game. Your channel gives you a platform that allows you to help influence this game's future. Your voice is bigger than mine, so keep doing what you're doing dude.
Niantic just changed the CP formula. Power up your Alakazam and its CP jumps massively
Why did you assume we didn't want to watch your vlog-style video? It's really good entertainment, keep up the good work!
Android
The only Pokémon that I've battled with that actually sucks is Aerodactyl. From what I know, there is no way to fix that.
Are you going to play Sun & Moon? If so, do you plan on making videos for them or continue to focus more on Pokemon GO?
Watch the q&a 😉
+Arno De Pauw I don't think he answers the question there, does he? 😯
+Arno De Pauw from this sunday or the week prior? cuz I commented on the last q&a.
I dont think so too
No one will watch if he plays sun and moon
Niantic should hire you as a consultant already.
I LOVE your ideas to fix how speed is implemented. The design is already really fleshed out, makes a lot of sense, is flavorful as all bananas, and sounds like it would it add LOTS of nuance and character into the game. Love it! Keep on keeping on!
That transition to the spreadsheet was fucking slick!!!
i know right lol
1/2 power === squareroot. You should use one notation.
You would have to add in brackets then though.
Looks cleaner with a square root and no brackets.
Not that its a real problem anyways.
this is actually amazing. I really wish this got more recognition
Train on!!
I hope you get shouted out!
fuck u
I love your videos luke.
No shit please, want more subs or view? Go pay UA-cam.
*THE GAME IS FINE THE WAY IT IS NOW BRO*
beat pokemon go youtuber like this to agree
Best*
Shut uppp
+Moiz iqbal It was better without your correction. Don't tamper with accidental hilarity.
Use better grammar and punctuation. Like this if you agree.
+Nova1080 idiot
Nice vid. Too bad Niantic will ignore this. They're good at that.
There is no strong electric Pokemon in Go. Trust me, I know. I have 143 in pokedex with a 1400 Raichu but it's HP is so low that it made me cry when I considered how many hours I spent finding Pikachu to evolve him....
143? You cheated...
+Mitchell Erwin not necessarily
Ampharos will be strong
you never know with Niantic! See what they did to Alakazam/Gengar...
+Mitchell Erwin why do you assume he cheated? To me it doesn't seem at all like he cheated....
Why aren't you working for Niantic?
Because most of the data wasn't found by him
+DaFlamingLink you ain't doin nothin if they ain't hatin
*THE GAME IS FINE THE WAY IT IS NOW BRO*
+AgarHP uhhh, not really.
+AgarHP no it's not dude. You saw. A jolteon should never lose to a vaporeon with similar CP
1. Buddy system: 1km = 1 candy, and each gym owned = 1 candy
2. Balance pokemon
3. Make gym fun
4. Chatroom or forum with Team, organise pokemon hunting and gym crashing
5. Friends list: to see location of friends/level/etc.. also help to monitor weird fluctuations
Thank you, holy hell. I am holding on to my jolteons, this is way better if it was actually implimented. This will test if Niantic is going to come back as a game company or if they will just continue to suck.
This guy... if he studys just as hard as he did in Pokemon Go, he would become the next Einstein....
+Valtteri Schroderus joo samaa mieltä.
xD
you dont be come einstein. and most highschoolers know what einstein discovered.
Einstein was smart in the 1930s. But this 2016. most high schoolers and college students understand his method and this theory of relativity.
+Mohamed Alsaidi If Einstein would be alive he would be in the top 10-100 smartest people alive.
keep up the statistical aspect nick, its awesome to have a streamer that actually cares about the design side of the game
@trainertips.
alright everyone. its our turn. lets all tweet this video to niantic and blow up their feeds until they watch it!!
they prob watched it already
The best video u ever made... hope someone considers it
if u dont have it posted.. could u post the spreadsheet somewhere? thx
You can raid some gyms, but again, not really rewarding.
agreed
hope they add all the features in future updates
HOW DID YOU DO ALL THIS WHILE MAKING VIDEOS EVERYDAY
discipline
+Zeph Ng And he actually enjoys it.
Best Pokémon Go video I've seen, brilliant and keep up the good work!
*Mathematics of why speed is a bad stat*
When compared with attack and special attack, speed plays a very limited role.
That determines how much damage he can deal before fainting.
we also know this:
(I will be using = signs as "proportional". There are many constants, but they aren't relevant because they apply in the same way to all pokemon, and we're trying to compare pokemon against each other.
goAtt = att^0.5 * spa^0.5 + spe^0.5
goDef = def^0.5 *spdf^0.5 + spe^0.5
goHP = HP
therefore, a pokemon's effectiveness will be the mutiplication of these three expressions.
effectiveness = {(att*spa*def*spdf)^0.5 + (att*spa*spe)^0.5 + (def*spdf*spe)^0.5 + spe} * HP
What can we gather from this? Well, assuming all other stats to be equal and stable; and 65. Let's run some calculations:
effectiveness is directly proportional to HP, making HP the most overpowered stat.
If two stats are improved, it doesn't matter which, the result is not distinguishable. improving att and spdef is similar to improving att and spa
Doubling speed increases your effectiveness by 9.3%.
Vaporeon: 130 HP
Lapras: 130 HP
Exeggutor: 95 HP
Snorlax: 160 HP
alakazam: 55 HP
gengar: 60 HP
raichu: 60 HP
jolteon: 65 HP
Counterexamples (that are good despite their high speed or bad despite their low speed):
Charizard: 78 HP, 100 speed. Somewhat strong.
pidgeot: 83 HP, 101 speed. Somewhat strong.
arcanine: 90 HP, 95 speed. Top tier.
gyarados: 95 HP, 81 speed. Top tier.
dragonite: 91 HP, 80 speed. Top tier
khangaskan: 105 HP, 90 speed.
Also, Vaporeon is a fucking tank.
Untill they nerfed it ... Snorlax is the tank now
+Emmanuelrocks123 Vaporeon is still a tank. The herd didn't affect its defensive ability. But yeah, Snorlax and Lapras will. Not. Die.
Snorlax, wigglytuff, clefable, and chansey have and wills always be tanky af. Something to do with guts I believe.
N lapras is like dragonite as far as being a sudo-legend.
I absolutely loved this video and love the content you put out Nick! As an avid Pokemon player of the main series game and Pokemon Go, I'd love to see Pokemon like Alakazam and Jolteon get a buff. This appeals to the diversity of the game and its longevity like you mentioned. Keep up the great work dude greetings from Australia!
wow that's smart I hope Niantic is listening
Electrode will be a beast!
I thought there was a real spider wtf
+The Ninja Master leeel
Dugtrio too!!
I just caught one
Dipper Dugtrio isn't known as the trash pokemon, it is just a runnning joke about what is underneath dugtrio. Even though I don't think Dugtrio was ever really good, I think it still should be better than what it is in Pokemon Go
Seriously, why haven't they hired you yet? Even as a consultant. You're putting out by far the best Pokémon GO content in youtube. Thank you!
make a video of which is the best and worse moveset of a pokemon
already did it, its in the suggestions of this video
its the spreadsheet
I hope niantic watched this
My Brain hurts just listening to this dude...
Lol but the info he gives is good. If Niantic fixes the speed, we can finally see pokemon like Alakasam, Gengar, or even Jolteon benefit in battle based on speed since they were a glass cannon in the original games.
Electrode and Dugtrio also. Very much glass cannons.
same lol his video content is really good but his personality is just so boring
CLICKBAIT! CLICKBAIT! CLICKBAIT!
Oh wait, Wrong channel.
this is such a good video! great suggestion and also thanks for the effort in showing us how it will all turn out with the speed mod :) real nice work.
You lost me when you starting throwing numbers...
Better than Ali-A's clickbait titles 😂😂Mewtwo on every thumbnail
Who gives a shit about a title really :/
+Slim Rocky Truuuuuu lol
Was literally just thinking this.
Would love to see Raichu and Jolteon better.
better electic types. and fighting types. their all complete garbage i hate it. I can never uss my hitmonlee now :(

Really loved this video! The ideas put forward about the game design was interesting.
Nick, i want to ask you something. my nearest gym i always go to, but when ik press go and it shows the battle screen (without the pokémon). and it just doesn't want to load the pokémon. what do i do?
It's happens a lot to me the screen freezes.
Restart the app, but sometimes it's due to your internet connection.
Turn off AR
its because of unstable servet
AR is off. And I do restart my screen but still happens and connection looks good LTE it just freezes when I battle gyms.
Where my Team Mystic at!?

I upload mystic stuff on my youtube, so be sure to check out my vids!
My Channel is where it's at!
Loving your channel, keep up with the content, you're making the game funnier to play.
Hey Nick, it would be nice if you gained CP/HP on your Pokemon after You battle a gym
You mean like "train" it? Its funny how in the gym you dont train the Pokemon, but instead the gym itself 😂
+villam215 Right?! I found this odd also. at least benefit both cmon niantic!
Then it wud be very easy to train n make ur pokemons beast and wud just beat the point of powering up with candies.. Also higher players will benefit more obviously.. N get ready for more gym u cant beat..
Also since buddy pokemons are round the corner .. 'Training' will soon be possible in a way.
You've said this before bruh... Still a great channel though. Also I did get 200 xp when I spun 20 pokestops within 30min. Thought I'd let you know the bindings since you asked.
*findings.
Impressive thinking, Nick! Speed was always important for me in the original games. Since you are creating different types of videos now, just an idea to name their categorie/serie on your channel, e.g. vlog, Q&A, game improvements? :) Cheers from Liverpool, England!
I never see any of the Eevee Evolutions in the wild, Weird.
+Aden Deeze I've seen 2 vaporeons on my nearby but only caught one, it was only 290 CP though, I'm level 23
I have only seen a Vaporeon (cp696) in Circular Quey (Sydney, Australia) and i was level 12, didnt catch it
Caught an 847CP vaporeon a few weeks ago when i was level 14.
I saw a vapeoreon on my nearby but I didn't go for it
I've only seen one Jolteon number two on my nearby list and never found it. I'm level 15
Who he this men
He dont look when a womman Sit next To he 1:15
THANK YOU SO MUCH for trying to be positive, and still trying to effect what Niantic is doing with this game. i noticed i. another video you were talking about a subject and you could have obviously pointed out there faults or down fall with why they were makeing their decissions. but you didn't, you stayed positive and were calm and just pointed out how it pretained to the game alone.
My point is, your not trying to get on there bad side, but you have very well spoken and dedicated videos, and it is good to see. And hopefully that action will make an impact on some of Niantics following and the company as they move forward with this Game.
Also, i like what you did when you took off the watch..
Dragonite anyone?
Here :D
i have five 🌿👀🌿

Gengar and Alakazam are two beasts! They need to be recognised! So many good points made! The best PKMGO video's around! Congrats on nearly 500K!! Been here since 30!!
Alakazam and Gengar were my favorites in the original game boy game. I really hope Niantic fixes them and incorporates some sort of speed modifier!. I love this video, keep it up.
Hey Nick I am a Big Fan keep doing the good job of keeping us updated. n Showing us ur daily activities as we learn from you
Good job! These suggestions make totally sense and would make the game so much more fun when fighting in gyms.
Keep up the great work. I'm really looking forward to more of this type of video. I hope Niantic takes at least some of your suggestions on board.
Awesome video Nick! keep up the good work! in your videoes you dont sound too enthusiastic, but i like it because i know your not trying hard and faking to be excited and happy ALL THE TIME. you easily are the best pokemon go youtuber ever
Your videos are also sometimes kind of boring and make me feel like im in math class, but it doesnt really matter because the information u give us is so useful that it makes up for it
We would be lost without you Nick thanks for all the great vids!
Just started watching yesterday. Loving this idea! Keep up the great work!
