We think I’m finally starting to mend. Just about a year now. I’m in physical therapy now so still have some painful days. But going in the right direction. Thanks for asking
Hi Rich, always like your posts. Soooo glad you are finally out the other side of that medical situation that mercilessly plagued you for so long. BTW--I'm planning on getting the bundle before January 1st. I have a Mavic 3, Mini 3 Pro & Mini 3 ... would these be sufficient to make some good bucks doing 2-D and 3-D work? I live in a large metropolitan area (Jacksonville/St. Augustine, Florida). Also, I have a real estate license. Thanks. Cheers, Chuck (North East Florida, aka, the First Coast)
It all started December 15th of 2023. So an anniversary is coming up! To your question, you can now do photogrammetry with the Mini 3. Not sure about the Mini 3 Pro. Check out Dyllan Gorman's video on the Mini 3 for photogrammetry. ua-cam.com/video/jaRe0HxAfUc/v-deo.html. We have a Patreon member who lives in the Jacksonville area! You will be able to do some time lapse videos with these drones, so you can create great fly throughs for your clients.
Have you ever tried to export a point cloud from Web ODM? In my field, I think finding the best way to get point clouds into Autodesk Revit would be the most beneficial. How are you using the orthomosaics, what are your clients typically looking for? Thanks.
Yes, I've exported a point cloud in WebODM. The issue I have is that there is a very limited selection of formats. PLY, LAZ, LAS, and CSV. I also use Metashape and there's a lot more export options. As far as the orthomosaics go, the projects I'm on currently only want the Orthos for before and after presentations to show the changes happening on their job sites.
@@AZ-Drone okay, thanks for the info. I have used Metashape a little as well, all of the file formats actually confuse me! haha. What file type do you use to send orthos? I'm trying to think about owners who might not have the software tools available to view some of these formats, and the easiest way to share that information. Even a nice rendering from metashape, it would be neat to send 3d models to others who can use them for viewing purposes only, but who do not have the computer or software to open them in some of the file extensions that we might use.
@@JoeBoone82 Yeah, Metashape has a ton of formats available. For sending orthos I actually provide the original ortho tif file. I also resize the orthos and make jpgs for web sharing. At this point we create custom website presentations for our clients. They're all interested in time lapse, before and after images, stills, and models. We create an easy to use format for people to get a quick idea of where the project is at. Another good video. Only comment, you talked about the free and pd versions in the intro then again in the actual app...
How is your health doing Rich? Hope you are getting better!
