- New Electro Swing Remix :) As promised, I'm back with a full electro swing remix that some of you asked after the last video (if you've missed it, here's the link: • What is Swing? Swing E... ). This is time I used samples from two different Glenn Miller's songs: In The Mood (1939) and Doin' The Jive (1937).

This is time I used samples from two different Glenn Miller's songs: In The Mood (1939) and Doin' The Jive (1937).
Also, in order to set the right atmosphere for the remix, I created this video by editing clips from two old movies: "Sun Valley Serenade" (1941) featuring Glenn Miller with his orchestra and "Stormy Weather" (1943) featuring Cab Calloway, his orchestra and the amazing performance of the Nicholas Brothers (both available at archive.org/)

This is great I’d love to see more of these as like a series exploring bygone genres of pop music and how they are arranged musically by instrument section and then remixed into a electro swing track... seems like there might be an audience on UA-cam that likes educational videos and also electro swing
Even though I'm not a fan of electro swing (but I love swing), I think that this is better than most of the electro swing stuff I came across.

I've always hated electro swing as it always basically murders the classics, and ruins the feel and "complexity" of the music from the big band and swing era, but this is one exception. I enjoyed the modern upbeat feel with the classic sounds of a staple piece from the golden swing era. I truly think that the person who created this great remix deserves a raise. (I'm a swing nerd if you can't already tell. I stay up untill two in the morning jamming out to Glen Miller, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington and basically drive the neighbors nuts. There aren't many younger people my age who enjoy to and listen to 40s swing/big band, let alone collect Benny Goodman and Glen Miller records, so it's nice to see this music live on in a different way, in a way where people who aren't as strange as me can enjoy something old fashioned with a modern twist.)

Old comment I'm aware, however I'd disagree with one thing; The majority of people who do listen to swing or oldies either got in on or stay with Glenn and Benny, Duke and some others. They were and probably are still the most popular. Of the people I've met who do listen to older music, almost every one of them could only recognize the more popular names you mentioned. It's like in 2090 someone will say "I'm one of the few younger people who listen to older music like Kanye , Drake and Katy Perry." Sure, they're very popular, but they weren't the only ones making music.
Wolfgang lohr has a couple that keep the swing feel, namely black coffee and Charleston
Not to put too fine a point on it, but it's Glenn Miller vs Glen Miller. I, too, spent years staring at my father's records when I was little and I always wondered why he spelled his name with two Ns. I'm sure your PC was just helping you out with auto correct! It's nice to know that some younger people still have an affinity for big band and swing.

Man, this song was already one of my favorite swing songs but this remix is amazing.
I love this song, and love the idea of this getting some electro/techno mixed in, but I'm thrown by how fast it is. It wasn't really performed this fast, and this is taking it away from that. I'm glad so many people are enjoying this. That's just throwing it off for me.
