To be fair the mammoth probably didn't knew it was a party of 20. In the road he saw only 3, so he might have taken the risk for this reason. And he probably panicked when he went to the left instead of the tower.

I mean he had at least two chances to survive. Also he should be on 8.4 judi armor or better yet 8.4 armor of valor (highest armor/magic resist of any armor in the game). It’s a reusable expense and adds significantly more armor. 30m is a drop in the bucket for these multibillionaires
