The ZX spectrum 48K has a 1-bit beeper. To produce a waveform involves the CPU rapidly turning on/off the beeper. It is CPU intensive, and so this is one of the reasons this sucks so bad. Even the original IBM PC (8088 @ 4.77 Mhz) has a dedicated timer chip (the PIT) connected to a speaker so tones can be generated with very little CPU overhead. The spectrum has to work even to produce a tone.
GHS This is one instance in which you placed the Atari 2600 version below the Spectrum and the Apple. the graphics on the 2600 are pretty damn good for a system of it's limitations. And the sound/music on the 2600 is AWESOME - almost up there with the arcade.
That BBC Micro audio is such a relief after listening to the Spectrum monstrosity! BBC Micro is actually one of the best from an audio standpoint. It sounds like Master System quality.
There's also a "Suntory" version for where Bud wasn't on tap, and most home ports used Mountain Dew for some reason as their liquid vibration of choice.
From the thumbnail of the video, the cross of the A from the video game title makes it look like it says Fapper... lol. Never noticed that, prolly ´cause I wasn´t aware of the word FAP until a few years ago.
This is one of my favorite games; I was lucky to have played the arcade version, but can't remember where. I know you're just demonstrating the different versions, but you don't get to show people how to catch the empty glasses by running up to them. I love how it looks like the drink goes up the bartender's nose in the bonus level in the BBC Micro version.

Honestly, I like the 2600 version the best... I like that the dancers dance after finishing the level... that's different. The N64 version shouldn't even be on here in my opinion.
I generally don't include consoles like the N64 because of that very reason. However. I am often told "you forgot this version" or "You didn't add this version" .. I did it just to avoid that.. But when I do add them against my better judgement .. I am told things like what You just said. lol I can't win.
I have Tapper in 4 forms - Arcade's Greatest Hits Midway Collection 2, Midway Arcade Treasures for PS2 and Xbox, and a Budweiser cocktail cabinet. Nothing compares to playing the arcade version, though. The tapper control makes all the difference.

The 2600 version is remarkably complete for a 2600 game. The DOS version has better graphics and sound than the Apple ][ version, surprisingly. The ZX version sounds like hell.

Arcade has 3 version: Budweiser (the original), Root beer (for kids and young players) and Suntory (for Japan only, has different music and graphics)
Mountain Dew is a Citrus Flavor soft drink where I am from rather than a beer.

Sega did the 2600 port, and this one was actually impressive compared to their 2600 Congo Bongo.
