Evanna Lynch proves again she is the embodiment of Luna Lovegood, soft spoken wisdom beyond her years coupled with unwavering loyalty to people she loves.
Very good point.
Exactly like her character in the books.
does she wear her shoes to bed?

Well said
She's being wise, and after reading her book I can see why. Her struggle sounded very similar (in a way that's crucial to point out) and I commend her for speaking up.
Jo was beaten black and blue by her ex husband she managed to get out . Divorced and broke in her pocket and spirit. She sat at a cafe and started writing to escape reality. Her book became a world wide phenomenon. How can anyone hate this woman?
I hate her after the 'weaponizes her trauma against trans people and supports fascists' part.
How could anyone not hate her guts? She's been on a constant disinformation tirade against a group of people that edges well into 'fascism' territory. Her actions are right out of the 'the Jews wanted war' ideology.
I ain't hate her but I did see a good joke the other day, someone described Harry Potter and starters at the same time and they're basically the same story with different details lol, that said I love Harry Potter regardless and thought the joke was funny af because it was true
Shhh 🤫
You’re not supposed to know that!
They have actually praised her ex for beating her. They’re misogynists through and through. Hate seeing a successful woman rise up.
That’s literally the embodiment of an empowered woman origin story yet “feminists” hate her
When I heard how badly she was treated by all the Harry Potter actors and being told that she wasn’t welcome at the 25th Anniversary gala of Harry Potter, I was disgusted. These actors would not have had the careers and recognition they are enjoying if it hadn’t been for J K Rowling. Talk about mauling the hand that feeds you!
Wow, I had no idea. What a bunch of cowards!
Damn that's fucked by them just for expressing a different opinion?
what seriously??
My thoughts exactly !
@@fishiesgamingyeah, especially Daniel Radcliffe. I’m unsure wether they all conform to go with what’s hot rn in Hollywood. They are all going to backpedal once this gets REALLY ugly, not much longer.
Wait - Luna Lovegood acted gender fluid? She was probably the most feminine character in the whole series. Not in the modern sense, mind you, but the classical sense: she was caring, reserved, and quietly confident.
These people seriously just make crap up on the spot.
And that character never was rude to people
I was confused as well... wtf does gender fluid even mean at this point?
Also never got "gender fluid" Luna from the books, not at all, not on the slightest. And I just finished reading all of them.
@@spoonybard64 I guess it is how kids call whatever is outside the norm these days
Yeah she’s very demure and quiet and feminine in nature in my opinion. She’s not very confrontational and she’s extremely supportive and sensitive. All tend to be traits found in very feminine women. I think that tweet comes from the fact that she’s portrayed as a little out there and ditzy. That’s has literally nothing to do with gender identity though. People also forget that Rowling retroactively made dumbledore gay.
I was never a fan of JK Rowling’s writing but I respect her for standing up and saying what she believes when the entire world is against her. Saying what she said takes guts in the modern era, this is just making me like her more and more
I agree but also the books are damn good 😊
Yup, we live in a world thats supposed to encourage freedom of speach, but you cannot have your opinions anymore
Well , actually only the woke are and people to week to stand up for Facts .
@@SubiSkilland the people who use the name “antifa” are the real fascists. It’s crazy man. I’m starting to get really concerned about the future. I don’t see a good outcome to this
Hardly the entire world...just a very vocal, small minority. Mostly twitter loud mouths.
Evanna is perfect in the role of a Ravenclaw; "let's take time to think and listen to those we disagree with and give grace." Sadly, though, our day is one when you need the courage of a Gryffindor to express the virtues of a Ravenclaw.
Without courage, no other virtue matters.
As a Harry Potter fan, I'm super happy about hearing how brave Evana is for speaking out for JK Rowling.❤️
Funny shit, shady and evil characters from the movie turned out to be people with integrity and common sense, yet the protagonists turned out to be ass.
How brave to speak out against a minority with no lobby at all, truly breathtaking
Funny enough JK always was a despicable leftist, she tried to cancel Pew and called on her followers to cancel everybody she deemed sexist. Now that the left has turned on her, I say good. Not going to forgive her for saying 1 right thing
Read Evanna's book about her struggles with anorexia. It really highlights the parallels in an important way. Also Rowling's new book the Ink Black Heart is a shockingly insightful look into online culture. Read it.
What happen to freedom of speech and opinions? These woke people want others to listen to them, but they do not extend the same courtesy to others. If we look at effective public policies, they usually stemmed from having healthy discussions and inputs from various groups - not only from one perspective/agenda. Now, the it's easier to shut or cancel people who have different point of view (even if their POV make sense) because these people believe their feelings and needs are more important than the greater society. Good on Evanna for speaking up for JK!
JKR and Evanna Lynch being penpals and JKR encouraging her out of her eating disorder is so wholesome.
I couldn't agree more.
Luna was by far one of the best characters in the series. Had love, empathy, and curiosity for everything. Despite her oblivious and clumsy behavior, her curious nature is what lead her to Ravenclaw which is the house meant for those with wisdom. It's like Evanna Lynch truly embodies Luna and will forever only be the person to capture her character. Im happy that Evanna is speaking and thinking for herself not simply as a woman but as a human.
I couldn't agree more.
She is still supporting all that trans craziness… same as Rowling in a way.
@@Skyv111 That should show the left that neither Rowling nor Lynch are anti trans but it is fitting that they would cannibalise their own.
I still love that she designed her own Luna costume and overall look for her audition, walked into the room, and told the filmmakers, "I am Luna!" Apparently, they were impressed with her boldness and confidence.
Loved this character so much I named my dog after her
I named my daughter after Luna Lovegood. I'm glad the actress who portrayed her is still a wonderful role model.

What the hell? Who names children after Any actor? Children are not an accessory.
My friends and I recently got into a argument about JK Rowling, with them saying that she was “homophobic, racist” and all that other good stuff, but the thing is, I looked it up later and she literally said nothing homophobic or racist. It was only about how activists are dehumanizing women with terms like “chestfeeder”. JK Rowling literally said something along the lines of, “I love and respect trans people” and people still get mad at her. The internet is stupid.
Besides: gays are not trans people, and have nothing in common with them, so in what way would Rowling be a homophobe if she actually was against trans people? When the LGB community added the T everything was effed up
That's the thing. Even with the internet they don't want to do any research on what was actually said. They just want to join the crowd.
Are they really your friend if they're arguing with you over something like that?
You need better friends...
No. She is definitely transphobic. You simply need to read her blog article where she talks about transgenderism. If you want a detailed breakdown then there is Contrapoints' video entitled "JK Rowling". She may say she "loves trans people" but in the SAME ARTICLE she says that men in dresses are not women and being a woman isn't an idea in a man's head. She says also a lot more. She supports some very hateful anti trans activists. Your claim that because she says she loves them then it's ok is just ridiculous.
This is just absurdly disgusting how people who claim "love is love" spew so much hatred and negativity. They are the epidome of hypocrisy. And rest assured that all the energy we put out into the world will certainly come back 10 fold. Everyone has coming to them what they dish out. If it's true love and joy, then when the dawn breaks... there will be immeasurable love and joy.
But, if it's hatred and ugliness... then it will be immeasurable hate and seething negativity.
One will be glorious, and the other unbearable.
Thank you for covering this story. You are a good egg for sure 😉
Congrats on the engagement
I personally don't think there are many people that are non hostile, especially if it's response to hostility towards any group that person either belongs to, or has emotional ties to.
Therefore to say "Everyone should be loving" would indeed be hypocritical. We are vicious and vitriolic, only difference is how much is needed for us to respond this way.
It's mad to think that one of my favourite HP characters being Luna Lovegood's actress Evanna is actually proving how intelligent she truly is!
Real Ravenclaw in heart. 😊
Evanna is the most reasonable voice in this mess imo. It's sad that someone who speaks with such compassion gets attacked without hesitation. Like she herself said, Twitter really isn't the place to have conversations about complex topics.
Evanna's book "The Opposite of Butterfly Hunting" is amazing. I highly recommend it. You'll like her even more after reading. Tom Felton (Draco) has also been vocal in support of Rowling. His book is also great though a little more funny and less serious than Evanna's.
Thank you. Didn't know she wrote a book.
She was THE perfect cast fit Luna Lovegood. When it came out my sister and I were so shocked as to how perfect her casting was. Amazing actress beautiful young lady.
What's super ironic is "Luna" is actually a very common name transwomen give themselves because a lot of them are/were obsessed with HP and her character in particular because of how feminine she is.
@@perrybb2 yuck🤮😂 don’t ruin her good name😂😂

Hi Brett, I have followed JKR’s career from the start as we lived near her in Edinburgh while my daughter was growing up and devouring every book.
I simply cannot believe how the mediocre actors (Radcliffe, Watson etc.), who would never have got anywhere without Ms Rowling, turned against her for simply telling the truth. They should be ashamed of themselves.
I don't get this kind of thing either. They start out as mostly-innocent kids, and then turn into adults who are so committed to the Left its absolutely insane. I like the Harry Potter movies, but I can't say I have much personal respect for a lot of the actors.
@@Moviefan2k4I'd say they're all afraid to lose the fame. They don't have their own opinions because they follow whatever gets them the best image. How people are treating Rowling is because of her courage and not wanting to back down. They'd rather grovel to the masses to keep their careers and it's honestly sad at this point
Of course it's Luna Lovegood. Knowing what's up and looking crazy when everyone else is actively running from the truth, that was always her character
I'm glad she has a brain and a conscience, which is rare.
@@mmaescher dude, I’m not a child. I can tell the difference 😅 But for this specific case, I’m also aware that she was picked for that role, specifically because she related so much with the Luna Lovegood character. Even the producers said “the others played Luna, Evanna WAS Luna”. Her role as Luna Lovegood helped her overcome a whole ass eating disorder, was her start to her acting career, and considering she was cast before all the books were written, I’m sure her interactions with JK influenced her future writing (so books 5-7 at least)
@mmaescher It was a bit different with her, especially at the time. I'm thinking back a while, but I could've sworn she had letters to JK back when the 5th book was first released. They weren't anywhere near starting that movie yet, but JK made this whole public promise that she could audition if she beat her anorexia. She had all us fans rooting for her going in
@mmaescher she was the first fan of the books, that I or most of my friends knew of, who got a role in the movies. It made her more relatable, if nothing else
@mmaescher how about you stop being a demo and learn that not all of life is sunshine and rainbows
Her books are all about being brave enough to speak and act even when everyone wants to silence you. Interesting. I'm glad this actress is exercising her bravery and critical thinking.
The internet is taking that logic and flipping it backwards 😂😂
we better all remember that anorexia was the fad in the late 90's, and trans trenders are doing worse to their bodies and being encouraged on top.
Medical studies have shown similar areas in the brain to light up in people who were anorexic and trans sexual.
It is a disconnect with your own body, so speaking from personal experience with the one gives her the 'lived experience' the trans activists are so prone to quote.
But respecting someone else's struggles and showing empathy is clearly unknown to them!
Respect needs to be earned, tearing people down is not how you do it!
Just watched OOTP last night and it's hilariously ironic how the woke left is acting exactly like the Ministry of Magic.
HES NOT BACK!!! now that you say it they basically are treating JK like voldy kinda funny
Touché!
Finally someone in the cast who's not ungrateful, who would never bite the hands that fed her. Congrats Evanna. You're really Luna Lovegood ❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Gratitude is no reason to stand up for someone if that person is wrong. Remember how Neville won points in Philosopher's Stone - it takes courage to stand up to our enemies, but even more so to stand up to our friends. In this circumstance, Rowling has been generally right and so it is appropriate to support her, not because we like things she previously did but because she is right.
I would also support the right to speak of those disagreeing with her if they seemed to be reacting to what she actually said. I however have seen very little of that.
P.S. to clarify, I support the right to speak even when someone is saying something wrong and/or stupid, unless it is defamatory (as most of the anti-Rowling comments on this subject have been). Freedom of speech means nothing if it is only applied to the speech we agree with. But I will not be supportive of their airing of their thoughts when they cannot be informed and honest.

Rowling who has done absolutely nothing wrong. Go Evanna Lynch! Thank you! (And Rowling has been a huge inspiration to me, as well!)
I despise JK to her core and wish her nothing but death, but even I think that there's nothing wrong with enjoying her media. You're completely free to read her books and enjoy them, just don't give her money or support her. If you pirate her books, I'd be happy to be in a book-club with you to read and discuss them.
You should be ashamed of not vilifying her though; she's done plenty wrong. The simple fact of the situation is that she's pedalling and validating a disinformation campaign against trans people for no reason at all. She has a direct and intentional hand in a movement that's killing people. The shit she's pulling isn't complicated to understand or break-down, but you've chosen to support her despite that.
I assume that you're not on the level of evil that she is. You're probably like most of her supporters; where you've gotten wrapped-up in her media and were drip-fed into her insanity. That's how she's got like this, remember; because it's an effective method that works. That's not your fault that she's using you to fuel her movement, but it will be if you don't take this note and chance to actually look at what she's doing.
Well, unless transphobic hate propaganda is wrong.
Me too. I love it and all the values that she had taught had been of value, so much, that I don't care what people think in general. I will do what I think is right regardless of popular opinion. She is a great human being, and I refuse to cancel her or people cancel one of the greatest writers of this century.
I couldn't agree more.
@@MTech07 How about instead of using idiotic meme terms like "cancel" you just admit that whatever the quality of her writing might be she is an aggressive, vile transphobe and uses her public platform for malicious propaganda.
Rather than throwing Rowling under the bus like so many others have she shows gratitude for Rowling helping her. That's something a lot of people cannot do these days.
She might just be Luna in real life. If anyone has read the books, you'd know people would dismiss Luna and call her Loonie Lovegood instead of Luna Lovegood. She was actually the most insightful character. She saw things that most dismissed. One of my favourite quotes from her is when she told harry, Voldemort was trying to separate Harry from everyone else, because if he was alone he wouldn't be much of a threat. This is what I see now, we are so divided that we're now so easy to conquer.
Ms. Rowling is a hero and global treasure. She got millions upon millions of kids to learn to love reading and you didn't even have to bribe them with free pizza from Pizza Hut.

I think anorexia creates a good comparison to transgenderism. They’re both based on the idea that if you hate your body, you shouldn’t accept it, but rather you should change your body to match the image you have in your head of what you think you should look like. For anorexia, it involves losing an unhealthy amount of weight and for transgenderism, it involves trying to make your body look like a person of the opposite gender, but at the heart of it, neither accepts the body that they have. I’ve always seen transgenderism as a form of self hatred when trans people say that they feel that they were born in the wrong body. I just don’t think it’s kind or compassionate to tell people they should feel like they were born wrong.
Honestly…I think a lot of people feel like that generally.
That they were born wrong.
Both are body dysmorphic disorders so their mindsets are very similar to each other
There's also a big social contagion factor and a primary demographic is teenage women. I completely agree that comparing the two is apt.
I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like you're heavily misinformed. Neither can be compared to the others
I've recently been genuinely stressed about how unrelenting those people are. How they shut down reason and logic with nothing but their incredibly strong aggression and hateful noise. It's so damn suffocating of a feeling when a person is so unreasonable there is NO way to even speak with them like to an adult, all they do is just smother you with their noise and call their other minions to shut you down and lift themselves up, while all the other reasonable people are too scared to even chip in. "I better not say that out loud without a throwaway account"... They genuinely have people scared while trying to eradicate transphobia.
It's kinda terrifying if this kind of extreme behavior just keeps growing larger and larger. What the hell can be done to it? Will Evanna now be harrassed until she again deletes everything and no one can do anything about it?
Edit: Oh and the irony... Evanna saying that about cancel culture and that if people don't like what they hear, they silence them. So that pisses people off and they prove her point by getting so angry they try to silence her................... can't make this sh up
Their very nastiness is having the opposite effect of what they claim to be doing. I've never had an issue with transpeople, but... I no longer trust anyone, and that's all down to these activists. If you say a word out of line, it won't matter how much you apologise or explain yourself or try to reason with them, they will never listen. Ever. They cut you dead. It's as if they're so terrified of common sense, their own reasoning powers have fallen out along with their brains.
They make transphobia real by scaremongering their own behaviour, with their unreasonable behaviour as being proof, normal people get traumatised by these mob tactics to the point that they start fearing trans activism. People will eventually understand that J.K Rowling is one of the strongest advocates for women's fundamental rights. She is unbiased to the point that she will confront any group that tries to steal from women, irrational ones included.
It's pure political marxism. I don't understand how people cannot see it.... 😥🙏

I know!!!!
Excellently put!
"Trans activism" has been the most successful men's movement to date. Women have been effectively erased. We are legally now just "people who don't identify as men" and "people with cervixes". We don't have any sex-based exclusive rights or spaces anymore. Opportunities are being stolen from women left and right. Biological males are being chosen to represent women. Males in women's prisons and sports. Actual 2nd wave feminists who fought for women's rights would be horrified by the liberal "feminists" that exist today.

Glad you're still with us, bud 💪
As a fellow man just know that men can like anything they want even if that thing is considered feminine. Doesn’t make you less of a man. I’m glad you worked it out and are doing better now! I hope more young people get this message because mutilating yourself should never be the answer
It's heartbreaking how much of it is based on typical teenage self hatred, and the adults who encourage it are evil.
Wait.. you cannot exist ;)
Didnt you know everyone has to follow through on every single whim that crosses their mind :D
There's no craziness with trans. But having mental health issues and all needs support in whatever ways possible. And it's great therapy helped you cope and get through whatever you were dealing.
But it's very different from being trans it's not that they think it would be better being something else it's their identity.
I think you need to have her as a guest! I’m so warmed by her understanding, compassion and bravery to talk about her experiences. On a side-note…your seal made me giggle!

Now there is a huge difference between having annorexia, depression, other disorders and dysphoria.
That being said, there is a lot of mistaken diagnosis today simply because psychologists are often incompetent at assessments of young people which is the reason dysphoria diagnosis is so common.
Often because depression, stress and anxiety disorders among other things symptoms and criterias are so similar and especially in teenagers with so much hormones in their bodies could disguise underlying issues and often does, this is the result of poor assessments by psychologists.
This obviously doing more harm than good but rather than admitting that psychology has many holes that is not being covered by neuroscience and psychiatri right now and the victims are those that has been given a false diagnosis by rushed psychology today.
Dysphoria is real thing and there are children who felt their whole life they belonged to the other gender but this much more rare than what psychologist are giving out like christmas presents just like ADHD.

Unfortunately many "medical experts" use politics rather than science these days
Oh please
@@gustaf3811 can you read??? They were referencing Evanna’s struggles with her eating disorder in the past, saying they hope online abuse from ‘woke mobs’ online after speaking out won’t trigger her eating disorder again. They weren’t comparing having an eating disorder to having gender dysphoria at all.
I like how in-character it is that she's defending someone most people are against.
As an Irish American with knowledge of both Harry Potter and the Troubles back in my country of origin I can wholeheartedly agree with Evanna as a fellow Ravenclaw and as one of her fans people are so quick to dismiss us and label us these days so much so that there are literal attacks happening and it’s only a matter of time before thing’s completely break down and civil war rages
Its amazing when someone mentions cancel culture, people respond in a way to prove that point. As for Evannas article, goes to show how people have selective reading, they dont read the entire thing, they only hear that she's not saying JK is bad and immediately hate her.
I was so disappointed when I first heard of this controversy and how the main movie cast members responded. They pretty much owe their entire careers to her and then turn their backs on her for doing literally nothing wrong? It is at least heartening to hear that one of the cast members has a degree of common sense.
It’s jk’s fault it’s not the cast members fault for saying that she’s wrong and dumb and she is. She’s narcissistic by the way she talks about her books. The cast were being totally fair with being right especially the main cast

Asking people 'to have grace' for others is often like screaming into a void. People only care about how treating others makes them feel. Vindication to them feels much sweeter than letting the darkness stop with them. It's all about the 'eye for an eye' mentality.

I've heard things about Rowling and didn't know what to think but I didn't care. I loved the world she created. I love the characters she made and the history she began in that world. I took a step back from the Harry Potter world, but I still respected the book and movie series. As an aspiring author myself, I look up to Rowling. My first work was actually inspired by the Harry Potter books. (I stopped working on it 2 or 3 years ago) Going through a rough time with her ex-husband and having writing in a cafe being her escape, she was inspirational to me. Even before I found out what was happening to her before she started writing the books, I looked up to her for creating a worldwide phenomenon that everyone loved, even with all the cliches and love is the power stuff. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ Community, I didn't know what to think when I first heard about her tweets, but I stayed out of it. Now I'm older, I can say it's quite odd how the internet can be, especially Twitter (or X now). They'll silence anyone with a different opinion than theirs like we're all supposed to be like a hivemind. Having different opinions is basic human-like behavior. You don't like the opinion? Ask for their reasoning and find a middle ground or just move on. Simple as that
Good for you Evanna. She was so good as Luna Lovegood and helped made Luna one of my favourite Harry Potter characters. It's very nice to see her still doing great work and standing up for JK Rowling.
Luna is a pure soul who sees the good in people and always helps people out. Had to be her who'd stick up for Rowling.

I couldn't agree more.
I'm in strong disagreement over J.K Rowling's views on trans people and *do* think she's a transphobe, but since my Irish sister Evanna is asking we hear her out, I will do just that.
Bravo to her for being willing to stand up for what she believes, especially when in that industry you will be "canceled" in a heartbeat if you are not in alignment with the masses. Look what happen to Gina Carano when she stood up and spoke out for what she believed. I do find it refreshing that someone her age is seeing the dangers of the cancel culture, and is willing to stand up and say what needs to be said.
"...in that industry you will be "canceled" in a heartbeat if you are not in alignment with the masses." It's not even 'the masses' - it's just a very loud, self-absorbed sliver of the populace. It is hard to figure why people cower at that small close-minded faction.
i had a crush on luna lovegood. always thought she was a better character then Herminie in the movies and thought the actor played her extremely well. didn't know how she got the role and i respect her for doing what she did to obtain it.
She was the hero in the end. Not Harry
Does anyone remember that movie The Danish Girl? The man’s wife had enough of him. She was trying to support his transition and then just realized that he’s just selfish and she’s tired of it. I’ve had trans friends. Past tense. Had. The ‘whole world has to bend to me cuz I’m selfish’ attitude is evident and astounding.
Very happy that Evanna is standing up for JK Rowling!! I’m still very happily sporting my HP tattoo I got 3 years ago ♥️

Finnaly someone stands up for her!
Even as a Gryffindor , Luna Lovegood have always been one of my absolut favorite characters. And Evanna is a wise lady that knows how tuff life can be and she is strong and brave. So yes I admire her.
Seen people absolutely drag Evanna and write her into fics where she's trans etc It's a breath of fresh air when young people like her especially women speak up about this and are clearly compassionate people but they're also a thousand times more mature and intelligent than those who just fling insults and are incapable of listening.
The reason I liked HP was because it was the only series to portray a variety of normal girl characters who weren't either not-like-other-girls or the boring sensible plot device to make the others look more fun (well, hermione is sensible, but it's more of a quirk than "because she's THE GIIRRRRRRRRL." (Honestly I think the way girls are portrayed in literature is a huge part of why girls hate being girls. The amount of books that make it cool for a girl to "have a flat chest and boyish build" and disguise as a boy, not be like other girls is just sickening).

@@gustaf3811 I repeat: gender dysphoria is real. The mainstream "cure" is evil and wrong. Chopping people up is wrong. Affirming delusion is wrong.
Luna lovegood was and always will be my favourite character in both the books and films of Harry Potter, and its amazing that her actress stood up for herself and those she admires against all the adversity even in the face of all the negative views being pushed onto her, its amazing how even from a young age she has gone through trials of hard ship and over come them and she is still doing so today. I hope she lives a happy long life without all the negative press from Twitter.
Luna’s my favorite as well. The books are what made me fall in love with her even more. I so wish she would have had an even bigger presence in the movies. Every aspect of her character is so beautifully written and so well fleshed out. I absolutely adore her, and JK couldn’t have found a more perfect actress in Evanna to portray her. I’ve always known about the backstory of her anorexia and how JK gave her the role, and it’s alwyas made the role of Luna all the more special. She truly embodies Luna perfectly.
And it’s even more wonderful to see that Luna’s kindness and loyalty shines through in real life within Evanna, even when faced with a mob of woke vitriol in the place of death eaters. It’s not easy to take such a rational, loyal and kind hearted stance in today’s world. I respect her so much more for standing for what is right rather than for what is easy. To see so many of the other cast mates who have turned on JKR, a woman who gave them so much, is so disappointing.
I’m sure Evanna’s words of support mean the world to JKR. Evanna is the true embodiment of grace and gentle strength, just as Luna would be. It’s so sad to see people shredding her apart for it, but it sounds like she has accepted that as a worthy price in exchange for defending one of the people who has shown her the most kindness in her most vulnerable and darkest of times. I can only hope her strength inspires others to do the same.
I completely agree, and you have a beautiful way with words.
She's spot on with the observation that people have different opinions about who are the most vulnerable people in need of protection. The people who prioritize the safety and mental stability of innocent children are demonized by those who push children into various forms of depravity (which are likely to lead to depression, aggression, suicide, etc.), just to validate their own desires and create a societal backdrop that causes them to feel less conviction about their personal choices.
This comes right after a Harry Potter fan group I loved decided to close down because of not wanting to be associated with JKR's "Anti-trans bigotry". Thank you so much, Evanna, for standing up! I actually did know Evanna's story of how she was cast, so it brings a whole lot more meaning that it was the one JKR stood up for who in turn stood up for her. I've never been completely obsessed with Harry Potter, but I do love it, and I'm not gonna let the liberal hoards stop me from enjoying the story. Stay strong, Evanna! Thank you for being so brave despite knowing the backlash would be harsh! You're amazing!
Twitter is cesspool of insecurities and projections, which is why Twitter users repeatedly read one thing and respond to something completely different. It's not about hearing other people's opinions, it's about projecting their own. This is why they are so miserable all the time. They are just looking for any random thing to vent.
A lot of people are intimidated and bullied into towing the line with this gender thing, they daren't be seen to agree with JKR and other sensible people. Time for the silent majority to stand up and shout. Well done Evanna.
Luna was always my favorite the actress for her is wonderful
I enjoyed Evanna's portrayal of Luna so much. I have infinitely more respect for her now for standing up.
1 thing that blows my minds is after JK said what she did, a majority of the cast just went after her saying how evil she is, how the whole world needs to hate her too and I'm thinking, "these kids would not have the millions of dollars and the careers they do, if not for her".
But I don't understand JK going after Matt Walsh after he supported 1 of her own comments. That confused me. I mean, the guy backed her up 100%.
Knew it was going to be Luna’s actor. Love it.
Being nuanced reasonable and sticking to the facts will never work against those type of people. We need to STOP BEING NICE.
Oh I feel really sad for what Evanna Lynch is giong through on the internet. She is such a sweet woman and she deserves respect for her bravery.
P.S. She was perfect as Luna Lovegood.
I have read (and in the more recent years) listened to the harry potter books more times than I can remember. They bring me a comfort I don't get anywhere else. Nothing and no one will stop me from sharing my love for her work.

Ive been on a Harry Potter binge since Hogwarts Legacy came out. I have been listening to all the books just finished Half Blood prince yesterday and started Deathly Hallows and rewatching the movies as I finish a book. This is the first time I have read/listened to the books since my first time reading them as a kid. A theme I didn't pick up on as a kid that I do now is speaking up and pointing out wrong doing when those in power are trying to ignore it and shame you for speaking up. Hell its the entire reason Umbridge is such a reviled character. These people don't seem to understand that they are Dolores Umbridge and Cornelius Fudge and not Harry, Ron and Hermione.
Luna, my favorite character in the series and this actress does her justice. I have never cared about any of the casts politics or even Rowlings, I just love Harry Potter. People are WAY too invested in this at this point and it’s depressing. And I love that I’m watching this in my HP pajamas and drinking coffee out of my HP coffee cup.

That makes me happy. Luna was always one of if not my favorite characters, glad she's standing up for JKR. Had no idea about the anorexia.
Correction on how Evanna got the part! She and JK were penpals and JK gave her support when she was struggling with anorexia. But Evanna went and tried out among the other thousands of girls and JK didn't know Evanna was the one cast until she was already given the part. So no favoritism occurred, it was just a happy turn of events

These days, a lot of people are addicted to being outraged about everything and hating those who don’t share their ideology. Good on Evanna for not being afraid to express her viewpoint. As the saying goes: In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
The simple fact that she is another young person using their head for something better than a hat rack I find to be commendable.
They live in a Fantasy so Harry Potter being a Fantasy, is their “real world” thinking!!! 😂

I've always really liked Evanna Lynch as a person. It's really nice that there's at least one celebrity I can admire without worrying about them having gone woke. Though of course the most important part of this event is having a nuanced discussion without trying to shut down people with differing opinions. :)
It's especially tiring because I grew up around a lot of liberal people, and I didn't have a problem with it, nor do I now. I might disagree but I understand it comes from a place of compassion and follows a logical pathway. Evanna and Rowling both are obviously that sort of liberal, and very traditionally feminist, which I think is largely a good thing. Instead, Hollywood's gone 3 steps over the edge and it's agonizing dealing with actors and actresses I enjoy watching going for woke about politics. It's easy enough to ignore, hasn't effected my ability to watch shows/movies they are in, so long as the show itself isn't a tool for virtue signaling. Too bad twitter and the news likes to broadcast it every chance they get...
